(*Hello everyone its me again. Hey, I heard that groan! Fine I know when I'm not

The youkai just stared out a large window as the rain fell down. She was very small and

looked young. “Arieona.” said a sharp voice standing next to the small one. Her presence

surprised me for I had not sensed her before. This jaguar youkai, an onna, was

accompanied a nin they two were probably mates. “Pay attention and stop staring out that

window.” continued the onna. The small youkai was not listening. She looked deep in

thought. “Empira Arieona!” she called again

“Yes, Mother?” asked the small youkai.

“You are to judge for the first time.” said the nin.

“Oh, right. I can take it for here.” said the small youkai they called Arieona. The other

two left me alone with the child and the guard. The youkai turned to me, now, and she

looked me over. Then her red cat eyes gave me a solid stare. However, before she could

say more the guard leaned near me.

“Be respectful to her.” whispered the dungeon guard as if he feared this child. “Only

address her as Your Highness or Princess Arieona.”

“Actually,” said the youkai, who had heard the guard, “ Arie will do. You don't have to

treat me like Enma, just an equal with power. So, state your name and crime.”

Hiei stared at the ground already boarded. “O.k.,” said the youkai, who called herself

Arie. “I'll make this interesting.” Her hand began to glow metallic blue, then like wise the

walls. Hiei bonds were broken and the guard fell unconscious. “The walls have an acidic

barrier. Try to cross it and you will melt.” Arie paused dramatically and smiled. “Like I

said, state your name and crime.”

“Hiei” he said through clenched teeth. “I stole the gems on a crown and used their power

to open a portal between Rekai, Makai, and Ningenkai.

“Hey, that was my crown.” said Arie sounding very hurt. “You know,” continued Arie as

she fingered her blonde hair, the red speckles glinted in the torch light. Her hair tips were,

at the moment, a calm blue. “I'm your judge if I want I can keep you in the dungeon -”

But before she could finish there was a loud crash outside the room. Arie broke her

concentration on the barrier to smell in the direction of the crash. A look a complete fear

overcame her face as the crash was heard again but this time something or someone stood

the room in front of Arie.

Arie stared at the creature before her. As to be sure it was truly there.

“A panther?” wondered Hiei aloud.

The youkai turned to Hiei. “Step aside.” came the voice “You are not who I want. My

business is with the girl.” With that the youkai ran towards Arie and had her neck in the

air. “Finally,” continued the youkai, now whispering so only Arie could hear. “I'll have

you out of the way.” Arie shivered at the end of his arm, from fear, pain, but also the
temperature.

“Oi,” said Hiei, who had found himself drawn to stay with this child, even if just for

now. “What business, of that kind, could you have with a little girl?” The youkai

dropped Arie and turned to Hiei. “That pest will die at my hands, as slowly as I can

make her death and drenched in her own blood.” Arie cowered at those last words. “And

you are in my way.” declared the youkai as he advanced on Hiei, a dark and cold aura

began to form around him. He leapt towards Hiei, claws drawn and face hidden. Hiei

quickly avoided his attack and appeared behind him.

“Was that aimed for me? asked Hiei as drew his katana, he stolen back from Arie's

chair in his evasion. The youkai backed away a step and stared that the weapon for a

moment and then disappeared. Hiei put back his katana and started to leave also but

found something was stopping him. He looked down and noticed a small, frightened

jaguar clinging to his legs.

“Thank you, Hiei-son.” came the tiny voice.

“What happened in here?” asked Arie's father, as the two mates reentered the room.

“Mommy!” shouted Arie, as she released Hiei and ran to her mother.

“Arieona, are you hurt? What happened?” she asked lovingly.

“Well,” started Arie “this big scary guy came and he wanted to kill me.” explained Arie

as only a two-year-old could. “But, but then Hiei-son protected me.” concluded Arie as if

she thought nothing of it.

“Hiei-son?” questioned her father.

“Hm-ph.” replied Arie.

“You saved our daughter, for that we are truly great full.” said Arie's mother as she

stroked Arie's joyful purple tipped hair. “We are in your debt.”

“We are welcome to stay here as you like and all changes are dropped.” decided Arie's

father. Arie left her mother and turned to face Hiei.

“Will you stay?” begged Arie “Please.” Hiei looked at her and into her eyes. They had

a sweetness and innocents he distantly remembered.

“Yukina.” whispered Hiei he looked down at this new girl, who looked back at him with

respect and gratitude, and nodded.
