SOMETHING NEW: CH 2 May 3, 2004

Rain began to fall, like sparkling diamonds from the ominous sky. They flew down from the heavens, only to flatten and gather in little communities of puddles on the concrete grounds of Sunset Shrine.

Kagome sighed as she sank deeper into the steaming water of her modern tub, with modern draining and the futurist idea of bubble bath. She leaned against the side of the tub, her breast pressed to the slick marble; arms dangling limply over the side. She listened to the almost nonexistence sound of the popping bubbles absentmindedly. Kagome stretched a little and yawned. Her silky hair floated on the surface of the ceramic enclosed murky pool, dancing on the bubbles in different patterns.

She sighed heavily once again, rolling so that her back rested against the cool marble, while scooping a handful of the bursting foam. Kagome smiled at her abstract reflection in the gleaming ciphers.

Sango would love this, she thought with a smile, but it quickly faded with her next thought. I know Miroku would absolutely adore bubble bath. That henti.

Her eyes softened, turning her attention back towards the bubbles is her palm. Kagome gently blew on the bubbles and watched as they became airborne, only to be halted by the hindrance of the showers tiled wall.

I compare to those bubbles. Once I climb over one wall another is built… she thought wistfully, and it doesn't help that Inuyasha will not to me, Kagome thought bitterly while gliding out of the steaming tube.

A shiver flew down her spine as the cold air hit her dripping nude form, quickly bringing her out her self pity party. Kagome swiftly nabbed a towel from the conveniently placed rack.

She drained the water and watched as the bubbles spiraled into oblivion down the drain. The rain began to pour, banging on the roof and windows. She listened to the steady pang of h2o against the glass pane of the bathroom's window. Kagome averted her attention to the foamy residue where the bubbles had burst.

I do not know if I can over come another wall…I can not climb this one alone.

Thunder sounded through the house, rattling the walls with its force. The previous days events began weigh heavily on Kagome's heart. She held a hand to her bosom, letting it lie over her heart. She could practically feel the hurt manifesting under her skin, crawling and squirming.

I do not know what to do. Please Kami, give me strength, I'll need all I can get.

Kagome promptly collapses onto her futon as soon as she entered her room. She tossed and turned as the hidden days events replayed in the eye of her mind. Torturing her in the cruelest of ways.
