SOMETHING NEW: CH 3 May 11, 2004
Forest foliage sprang out of the inky blackness of Kagome's dream scape. Stars appeared from the sky as if holes had been punched in it. Wild grunts, moans and primal screams sounded in the air; cutting through the eternal silence that sounded her, like an arrow through flesh. The unforgettable sound of the friction of flesh against flesh resounded in her mind.
Kagome materialized amongst it all. She began to travel against her own will; the winds of unconsciousness pulled her protesting body closer and closer to her nightmares.
No…no, she thought frantically, Not again…No!
Back in the land of consciousness thunder clapped, lightening sparked and fat drops of rain continued to plot down.
The sound of the outside world began to mold into those of the unconscious realm. The flashing lightening became the majestic glow of the fireflies that wafted gently passed Kagome as she walked on. The quite patting of her bare feet against the ground melted into the plopping of the rain. The claps of thunder acted like the slap of reality against Kagome's cheek, like a warning of what was to come.
Her slow amble quickened, the moans and grunts grew louder.
No! Stop, I can't go there! Ite!
Kagome tried to yell, but her mouth didn't move. Her lips still like they were sewn together and her voice silent as the grave, as if afraid to be heard. She was force, like a prisoner in her own body, to watch the scene unfold.
She reached a small clearing, quickly pulling away the leafy curtains detaining her vision. Kagome heard herself gasp in pure shock. She stood, stalk still, frozen in place by fear, betrayal and shock.
The thunder grew louder and the lightening brighter, shacking the shrine. Kagome's body tossed and turned the sheets tangles in her legs. Her black mane lie fanned behind her, cradling her pale face.
"No…please …Inuyasha…" she mumbled in broken sentences, and tears trickled down her cheeks.
