Chapter Three

Hiei just stared at her captured by her gaze. He noticed that she didn't try to move. He wasn't sure if she wanted to or if she just couldn't, but she didn't seem to even try. Abruptly she turned away. Her head tilted to the side. < So I guess you found me. To be honest I didn't think that you wouldn't. Although I had hoped that I would be strong enough to escape.> she said in his mind. He stared at her face wanting to turn it so that he could look into her eyes again, but he didn't dare.

"Can you not speak out loud?" he asked speaking out loud himself. She looked at him briefly before turning away shaking her head. < No. I haven't yet figured out how. Everything in my body including my voice went berserk when that doctor put this here.> she thought as she ran a finger around her Jegan eye. <My voice comes and goes sometimes but here lately it hasn't returned.> she managed to sit up whizzing and panting the wall of the cave supporting her weight. Her hair was covered in sweat and she could tell that she needed a bath badly, but now just wasn't the time she was barely strong enough to hold up her own weight let alone stand long enough to take a bath. She stared at him all to well knowing that he could take her out at any moment. <Why haven't you?> she asked slightly confused.

Hiei looked at her "Because right now you're more use to me alive than dead." He said with no remorse. He stood up and walked over to the other side of the cave and sat down. "Why did you show me?" he asked not looking at her.

She turned toward him confused. <What do you mean?> she asked her voice playing its way into his head. That's when he did look at her what glaring daggers toward her way. <I'm not warning you again don't play games I know that you have seductress blood in your veins. Use it again and you won't live to see tomorrow.>

She gulped down as much air as she could before she started talking again.<Forgive me. Sometimes I can't hold some of the powers that I inherited from my genes.> she thought her voice no more than a whisper. Hiei didn't look at her thinking that she was just trying to fool him again, but he quickly turned when his all too sensitive ears heard a soft thud as something heavy hit the ground. He turned just in time to see her fall unconscious on the cave floor. It was then that he realized just how tired and vulnerable she was at the moment.

Hiei fumbled in his pocket and pulled out the compact commutate and flipped it open. Static covered the screen a second then Koemea's head filled the screen. "Yes Hiei what is it." He asked is pacifier bobbing up and down as he talked.

Hiei glanced over to the demoness who still lay unconscious on the cave floor. Then back over to the compact "I've found one of the Demon's Guinea Pigs. I've got them here send the team." Hiei said then closed the compact. He only got the compact back into his pocket when a portal appeared out of nowhere. Out stepped Kurma, Botan, then finally Yuskie. /ok the big orge kurbarwara doesn't come in until later/

They all stared at Hiei as if expecting him to show them the way. "So just where is this so called guinea pig. That you say that you found." This was none other than yuskie. Hiei took a step to the side to revieal the demoness sleeping behind him on the ground. Everyone gasp "WWWHHHAAAATTT! IT'S A GIRL!" Yuskie yelled loud enough to make anyone wince at the loudness of his voice. No one noticed the movement behind Hiei as the demoness rose from her sleep. That was until they heard a warning growl. Hiei turned and looked at the demoness her eyes were red and her pupils only slits.

<Whoare those people?!> She demanded growling at the others. Yuskie being the idiot that he was took a step closer to her despite her growling getting deeper. /Sorry Yuskie fans but you have to admit he sure can act stupid sometimes. / Kagome took a warning step back and looked at Hiei. Her eyes glaring dangerously at the spirit detective. <If you wish that no harm comes to them then you better call off the spirit detective.> she hissed at Hiei. Kagome was now running on pure instinct again and her instincts were telling her to run, but because of the earlier injuries and weakness to her body she had to stay and fight. She had after all found the cave first.

Hiei's Pov

I looked from the demoness to my teammates. The demoness looked ready to kill and my teammate had no idea just how stupid it was to be near her at this particular time. She was barely even strong enough to hold her own body up. Yuskie took another step closer his hands tucked into his pockets. He had no idea what happened until she had already lunched onto him and was slashing at him with her claws. I quickly vanished from my current position and reappeared behind the demoness. I quickly wrapped my arms around her upper body pinning her arms to her side. <Calm down. They're just here to help.> Much to everyone's surprise including my own she immediately quit fighting and relaxed in my arms. Falling asleep due to pure exhaustion. I repositioned her in my arms to where I was holding her bridal style. "Lets get back to Koemea's office so that he can question her." I said and turned to the portal that Botan just made and stepped through.
