Chapter 3. "A Second time for MOST Things"
"Okay class, I hope your all ready for tomorrow's test, if your not, then oh well. But let's review what we've learned anyway..." The teacher continued.
*....(sigh)....this is soooooo boring.......I don't know why but it just is.....I because of...him...that I can't even concentrate, wOw......that was my first kiss ever. Oh god, when my friends ask me what will I say? 'Oh! my first kiss was with a Inu youkai who's eighty-seven years old and own the western plains!'.....damn it! oh my gosh! I'm swearing! God I've been hang'n around Inu Yasha too much....*
"Ms. Higurashi?"

"Higurashi...?"
*Well, if it weren't for the little fight we had then I would have never bumped into Sesshomaru..*
"Kagome."

"What...?" the teacher raised an eyebrow. All the students were guffawing at her, Kagome flustered.
"Gomen ne, I just zoned out." Kagome sweatdropped.
"Well, while YOU were thinking about your CRUSH, I was explaining how a Plant cell functions, care to recapitulate what I was saying?"
"Ummm....I...I.."
"Stupid Kagome!!" she scolded herself, "I know the answer! but I just couldn't respond at the moment, (sigh)..." and leaned against the wall in the hallway all alone.
The door opened, it was Ayame, "Kagome? are you okay??..I mean, you totally zoned out in class...is it man problems? that boyfriend of yours?"
"Umm....no, no....not that....."
"Come on Kagome, you can tell me."
Kagome grieved, "Ok, there's a person A, and a person B, and a person C. Person A and B have known each other for a long time, and person A likes person B, and person C is person B's brother, however, person C doesn't like person A or B. But one day person A wonders into a forest and meets person C, person A gets lost so A's stuck with C. A helps C because person C was in trouble, then person C kisses person A, and then person C disappears. Person B finally finds person A lost in the forest and takes person A back. And so now Person A is confused, who does A like better? person B or C?"
"...?"
"...(sigh)...nevermind.." Kagome said in a crestfallen tone, like as if losing all hope.
"No, no.....I really think person A should..have a talk with person B to clear things out, to find out is person B likes person A. Then deal with person C later."
"uh...thanks. I'll tell person A that, heh."
"Good luck Kagome."
Kagome smiled, then blinked to wonder, "Wait, are you supposed to be out here?"
"Oh! I forgot! I needed to go! nature calls ya know!" the both giggled, and Ayame ran off to the nearest girls restroom.

Kagome nervously climbed out of the well, and once again, she sees Inu Yasha sitting up in his usual place in the tree when he always waits for her. Fighting the urge to bite nails, she walked up to the tree a quietly called out his name, "Inu Yasha..?"
His ears jerked at the sound of her ever so soft voice, he opened his eyes and looked down at her, "Yeah?"
"I...I need to talk to you..." she drooped her head, away from him.
He eyed her curiously, not liking the tone of her voice, he watched as she resentfully walked towards the well to sit down by it. He followed her, and sat down in his cross-legged position gluing his eyes at her hair covered face, "Wuh...What is it Kagome?..."
"..Ummm.....I.......last night, before when you found me, Sesshomaru...he..." she paused, and thought twice, but Inu Yasha spoke before she could utter out the next word.
"Kagome, you didn't get hurt did you?"
"No I-"
"It's just that, the thought of him hurting you, I don't know what I'd do then." he frowned and looked away, "I'm just glad you're okay."
"Aww.......thanks Inu Yasha....." she placed a hand on her chest.
He hid a smile in his heart, feeling good that he finally said something right, "I care for you Kagome, I want you to know that...."
He smiled, this was one of the rare occasions that he smiled, Inu Yasha cupped her chin making her face inches away from his. Kagome fell into loss from his deep golden eyes, she wanted to stop, but couldn't. Without dawdling, his lips fell onto hers and they kissed. Yes, they kissed. Once Inu Yasha let go, Kagome blinked not once, but twice, "..I......Inu Yasha....." her eyes widen as they did before. She could do the same to him, if Sesshomaru wasn't on her mind already, "..I...I can't......gomen ne, I...I need time to think....gomen Inu Yasha..." she picked herself up unbalanced, and jumped into the well before he could say anything more that could make the decision harder.
"K-Kagome! wait!.....Kagome..............damn....it's too soon...she's not ready for this yet...she doesn't feel the same way..." he whispered down the well, it echoed from the sad Inu Yasha's voice.

"MOM!!! Souta! Jiisan!!" Kagome cried, no one answered, "Nani?....that's weird.." Kagome frowned, still thinking about it. She couldn't do it, she couldn't tell him what really happened, not after the last encounter moments ago. And now, her family had abandoned her, could it get any worse?
She dropped her backpack on the floor, and read the note on the fridge:
Kagome, your jiisan and I went to visit your aunt Sumiko, we'll be back in a couple of days. Meanwhile take care of Souta when he gets home, but tonight he's staying over a friend's house. I know you have to search for jewel shards but just tell Inu Yasha to give you a few days. Call me when you get home, take care!

"Great...just great...." Kagome threw the note in the trash bin, "well, maybe a few days off would do me some good...I hope.........OH! almost forgot! bio test tomorrow! yikes.......I need a tutor..." she thought, and thought, "Wait...Kurama can help me! he majors in that kind of stuff!" she grabbed the phone and dialed his number.

"Hello?"
"Hello, hi...um, may I please speak with Kur- I mean...Shuichii?"
"Heh, this is he, hello Kagome."
"Oh hi! umm...I was wondering, you see....I have this science test about plant cells and-"
"Say no more, your welcome to come over anytime."

Kagome hung up happily, then Inu Yasha entered her mind again, Kagome sulked, *..no......why can't I just stop thinking about him..?......because I like him...a lot...that's why.....I'm in love.....*

Kagome arrived at the door-step and rang the bell, Kurama greeted her and invited her to come in. They started studying right away, "So, organisms whose cells have membrane-enclosed nuclei and organelles, because they can manufacture their own food."

"Hmm... that's odd, for all the years I've known him, he looks down on humans, this would never take place."

"No problem, what are friends for?" He chuckled, Kagome smiled, and then hugged, Kurama was taken by surprise but still hugged her back.
"Oh, and Kurama?..."

"C..Can I use your phone, I kinda forgot to call my mom..^^'.."

The days went by, Mom and Jiisan were finally home, Aunt Sukimo is fine, glad to hear that, Souta was a good boy for once, not really troubling. Anyway, all's well right here in my time, but...I don't want to go back to the feudal era, I can't face them, I know I have to , just like Kurama said:"Follow your heart" Well I'm follow'n, and I think the best way is to tell the truth, even though the consequences are too high....I just hope nothing really bad will come out of this...

Kagome put away her diary under her bed and laid down thinking. just two more days till she's gonna have to go back, and suddenly she remembered, *Wait, I still have the jewel...what do I do with it?....I..I have to keep it somewhere safe..but there's no place like that, better yet I'll go ask Kaede, she'll know.* Kagome got up, then frowned again, *Wait....I don't wanna go back though...I ......ugh!! come Kagome you can do this!! might as well face them while your in the same era!* She took deep breath, then packed her stuff.
