Okay guys, I need a little help. I've been working on this chapter forever and can't seem to get it. So this what I'll do, for those interested I'll post what's written of the chapter and what I need to happen with a few guidelines. I want you to finish the chapter and I'll pick the one I like best out of the submissions. If I can't pick one I'll post the chapters for a vote amongst reviewers. For those who just want to read what's written of the chapter scroll down and skip this next part because it'll have spoilers.

 

Now this chapter is the long awaited B-day not just for Hiei but Yukina too. Both are going to have the Test to see if they're Rider material, and both will pass. Yukina's Shadow will be a black male and Hiei's a silver female with a black collar-like stripe and silver tipped ears and tail. Their names will be Lycan and Alyra. As in the first chapter this one will end when the Shadows reveal themselves to their Riders and introduce themselves. The Test has to be something important to prove themselves worthy. This is the hard part it can in no way involve Hojo or any other Riders. From here you have artistic license to pretty much go crazy. I'd like to see the characters stay IN character. Please try not to contradict anything in previous chapters. If I choose you're chapter and you have I will fix it to stay in the story and send it back to you to get it ok'ed after all this will be under your name too and I want it to work right. So get those creative juices flowing and let's see if we can get this story back on track.

 

 

 

 

 

Chapter 16~ Happy Birthday

 

 

 

The next morning Hiei and Kagome woke to the sun shining in their faces. They had spent the entire day and night in the clearing with the hot spring. Each and every fantasy lived out without interruption thanks to Kagome's handy dandy barrier.

 

`I will never be able to see you in your true form again with becoming extremely horny.' Kagome mumbled in her head.

 

`Good to know and it might provide a good distraction during battle,' Hiei smirked wickedly while sending an image of his opponents staring at her as he went in for the kill. Kagome blushed brightly at the thought of some random demon knowing she was aroused.

 

While Kagome was relaxing in Hiei's arms realization of what day it was dawned on Kagome `Happy Birthday koi!' Then opening her link to Yukina, `Happy Birthday Yu-chan!'

 

`Too early… wait what time is it?' Yukina mumbled through the link as she turned over and looked at her clock. “What!” She shouted loud enough for Hiei and Kagome to hear her “We're going to be late!”

 

Hiei and Kagome looked at each other before rushing to the shrine. They took the quickest shower of their lives and got dressed. Just as Kagome finished she glanced at Yukina's bed and twitched. She looked at then glanced at the clock and twitched again. School didn't start for another two hours and Yukina had gone back to sleep.

 

Kagome paused, smirked evilly and snapped her fingers. `Since Yu-chan is an ice-dominant apparition, hot water should have the same effect on her as cold water has on me.' With that oh so pleasant thought, Kagome created a downpour of near scalding hot water above her and let it fall. “

 

“Ahh!” Yukina screamed as she jumped out of bed quickly freezing the water she was covered in and shedding the crystals as she moved. “That was low… I will get even! Wait… I will get back at you. Since I started it we wouldn't be even. Arg it's to early for this, I'm going back to sleep.” With that she walked out of the room and into Hiei's swiftly locking it behind her.

 

“Think she'll even remember this when she wakes up again?” Kagome asked bemusedly.

 

“Hn,” Hiei replied. `I think she'll figure it out when she doesn't wake up in her own bed.'

 

`Ugh, as much as I want to go in their right now and make her stay up with us… I'll let it be since it's both of your birthdays. Oh, let's make a cake, with extra vanilla frosting. That's Yu-chan's favorite, then after school we can stop at the Ice Cream Shoppe and get you the sundae mountain, 32 scoops of your choice of flavored Ice Cream! What do you think?'

 

Hiei had visions of ice cream mountains dancing through his head as he replied, `Since Yukina's sleeping… can't we do the Ice Cream now and the cake after?' You could hear the pleading note in his voice as he looked at Kagome with something akin to desperation.

 

Kagome laughed as she headed to the kitchen to start the cake baking. “Hiei-koi, it takes a while to bake a cake, besides it's too early for Ice-cream. If you really want some though, I think I saw some Vanilla in the freezer.” He was gone before the words were out of her mouth.

 

Kagome smiled softly as she continued to mix the cake and spread it in a pan. She was waiting for the oven to preheat when she began contemplating possible birthday gifts. `Well, I already have the weapons for them that I was going to give to them, but I want something a little more personal. Oh, I know!'

 

Kagome brought her hands together concentrating her energy into her hands as she pulled from the energies around her. In each hand a different colored ball about the size of a marble condensed. In one hand was a ball of orange red that swirled with an inner energy all its own. It kept darkening till it was a burning black with wisps of silver shining from its core. In the other had a deep blue orb formed and lightened until it was a bright silver that flowed in all directions.

 

`Perfect!' she thought as she looked at her creations. `This will help Yu-chan and Hiei-koi balance out there natures and have access to other half of their elements.' The silver orb for Hiei would help him use his ice abilities and the black orb for Yukina to help her with fire.
