Kagome felt the power pulsing through out her body as she held her sword. How could he do this ? Before her stood the hole that had pulled Inuyasha and Kikyou into hell. The man she had fell in love with during the two years of their travels was now gone.
~*FlashBack*~ warning this will be VERY long
She had changed so much since she had first came through the well, four years ago. Her body toned to that of traveling had also developed in to a stunning beauty. She was now an expert swordsman and able to use any weapon that she might be holding, with as much skill as her teacher. Having Sesshoumaru teach her the time she had she had stayed with him a year when Inuyasha had said that they didn't need her any more when they now had Kikyou, and she had run away with Shippou in her arms. Kagome had run from the pain at being betrayed like that, she had thought that Inuyasha had loved her but it turned out to be nothing but a hoax. She had come across him hurt and injured, a battle with Naraku he had said, so she had done the first thing that had came across her head and used her rapidly growing miko powers and healed him and his arm. He had repaid her the only way that he knew, by training her to be strong. The first month had been hell, but she became a fierce opponent as time went on and by the time the year was up he had reluctantly deemed her as an equal fighter. Those were good memories, the time with playing with Rin and Shippou, training with Sesshoumaru.
After that year she had traveled again, Shippou again in her arms. It had been hard to leave behind a new found little sister and friend, but in the end they had understood that it was something that needed to happen.The following week she had came across an old miko by the name of Mirdo ( A/n: come on as if that was such a hard thing to figure out. and if you really don't know out out I say!! You don't belong here!! If you do know good job!! ^__^ ) then asked if she wanted to train under her, Kagome had readily agreed.
It had been ten times worse than training with Sesshoumaru at first. Her head felt as if they were being pounded by hundreds of little men with huge hammers, every time that she woke up in the morning. But in the end it had been worth the years training, she had fully harnessed her powers. She herself was still amazed at what she could be able to do and the fact that her teacher seemed to know that she could do this. Her teacher though had died the night she had finished her training.
Kagome and Shippou who had received some training from the old miko in controlling his kitsune magic, had buried and bless Mirdo's grave that very same night and left the following morning in search of their friends that they had abandoned. Training with Mirdo had opened up deep and hidden secrets she never knew she had. Having wings were one of these secrets, not that she was at all complaining about it. ( a/n I wish i had wings. it would totally save time to go to school than walking. ~Sigh~ but gatta work wit what yo mamma gave you ) So for a week they had searched. Well more like five days relaxing with Kagome lazily soaring through the air with her son in her arms. Kagome had always loved flying, she felt calm and in her element. They had collected two shards during this and had no trouble in defeating the youkai who had them.
(Half way through the year training with Mirdo, the old miko thought that it would be a good idea if Kagome had adopted Shippou since Kagome had already acted like a mother to the young kitsune. Both Kagome and Shippou were happy with the idea. The very same day Kagome had given Shippou her last name.)
The last two days were the days that Kagome had really put effort into her search. It had been a hot day and Kagome and Shippou were just getting out of a cold pond in the mountains they had spent two hours in, when Kagome had felt the ki's (A/n: yes like Dbz. can you really blam me? that was a good idea whoever thought of giving their characters that kind of ability ) of hundreds of youkai's. She and Shippou had quickly gotten dressed, releasing her wings from her back she flew them to where she felt all of them gather.
There she saw Inuyasha fighting off the demons, protecting Kikyou (completely forgetting his other team mates mind you) while Miroku and Sango were fighting off their own youkai's. She landed next to them, to their surprise that she was there and to the fact that she had wings.
"What are you doing here and why do you have wings!?" cried Inuyasha. At this Kagome had ignored him and just said in a cold voice, "'Shut up and fight." With that she turned from him and jumped in to the waves of the up coming youkai, using her purifying powers to disenergrate the youkai around her with just sending a shield around herself and Shippou, so that if a youkai came close to touching her they would turn to ashes. Using her spirit energy that Mirdo had taught her to she harnessed it into a form of a bow and arrow, she then started to shoot spirit arrows at the youkai that were far away to reach.
Shippou had jumped from Kagome's shoulder and using his fox fire to help kill the youkai.
With their help the youkai wee steadily diminising or running away. Soon all that was left were Inuyasha, Kikyou, a weary Sango and Miroku who were staring at herself and Shippou who was put out with all the energy he had used was in her arms.
"Kagome!" Sango and Miroku rushed to Kagome as fast as they could and pulled her and Shippou in a huge hug. Kagome held on to her friends and let her powers heal the hugging group. Seperating she looked at them and could see only a few changes, the lengths of their hair and little scars.
"So wench, you decided to come back huh?" came a raspy voce behind her. Turning from her friends she looked at the man who for some stupid reason still loved, who was holding onto Kikyou. he was a bit injured but on his two feet so no one cared. "Well your not welcomed here so just go back to wherever you have been," he added in a cold voice.
Kagome looked back at the hanyou with cold and hard eyes that startled Inuyasha and Kikyou. 'She's changed' was the thought that hung in the air. "Don't worry Inuyasha all I've come for is the jewel shards.""What!?" shouted Inuyasha in disbelief, his eyes wide and mouth hanging open. Why should we give it to you! You should give yours to us!"
"Did the jewel not come from my body?" Kagome asked the hanyou as if he were a child. He nodded. "So does it not rightfully belong to me?"
"NO!" he cried out, realizing she was indeed right. With a panicked look at Kikyou who had been silent through out the exchange he smirked. "It belongs to Kikyou," he said in a smug voice.
"You are once again wrong Inuyasha," Kagome had worked her way closer to him and know stood only a few feet away from Inuyasha and Kikyou. "It was given to her to purify and protect, she wasn't able to do that and she died. It does not belong to her any more." At the word more all of Inuyasha's jewel shards flew into my piece that hung around my neck.
"Kukuku, the little miko is right".
'We all turned at the voice and before us stood Naraku. "It does not belong to you it belongs to me!" then he lunged at me I jumped into the sky and landed on the far side of the field. "Little miko why do you run, I'll only find you." As he lunged at me again I let a spirit sword appear in my hand as I thrust it in into his heart it disenergrated. "A puppet." I muttered
A laughing voice could be heard throughout the field. "At sunrise I shall attack for that last piece that hangs on your neck miko be ready," Then Naraku's voice dissappeared.
"You heard him lets set up camp and get ready for tomorrw," Kagome said then with Shippou went to the edge of the field and set up camp. Shippou had started a fire while Kagome went out looking for dinner. Sango and Miroku stayed with Shippou while he told stories of all the adventures and places that they had been, while Inuyasha and Kikyou perched beneath the bottom of a large tree. They were all amazed at the stories that Shippou were telling. Shortly Kagome had came back with a few hares, which she and Shippou dressed and roasted of the large fire.
"Lady Kagome," said Miroku over their dinner. "Shippou has been telling us some of your adventures, you must feel very proud of what you have accomplished." He got closer.
WHAM!

He was on the ground eagle spread, two large bumps on his head, with Sango and Kagome over him with angry faces. "Will you ever learn," Sango said in a very pissed of tone of voice her boomerang in her hand ,nerve twitching. And Kagome with Miroku had managed to get up and sit next to Shippou. "I was only trying to congratulate her my dear Sango." WE had slept later on and Inuyasha and Kikyou had still never said a word to anyone. I had a dream where Mirdo appeared.
'Child why are you worried' she asks. She gives me one of those knowing smile. The one when you think that they know exactly what you're thinking about. Kinda freaky.
'Tomorrow' I say. 'I'm thinking if I will be ready for tomorrow'
'You know that you will be fine, there is something else that you are thinking of.'
'It's Inuyasha, when this is over what will happen?' Kagome asked.
'Yes, love can be a tricky thing' said Mirdo in an amused voice. I never gave you your present did I?'
'Present?' asked Kagome. 'No I don't think so.'
'Yes well here you go' Mirdo held her arm out and with a blinding light was a sword. The sheath was silver and on the hilt of the sword had in kanji the word 'Protector'. Taking it from Mirdo she found the sword to be very light, drawing the sword out of the sheath it flashed with a blinding light. When it faded the blade turned out to be made from a material of some sort and shaped like Inuyasha's but it was slimmer, and on the base of the blade it read Life and on the other side it read Death. 'It really isn't from me but your father'
Kagome looked at Mirdo in shock. 'My father?' Mirdo nodded. 'He asked me to give this to you, said that it was all he had to give. Your father was neither a human nor demon but something more. I guess that is why you have so much power. The material of the sword is his blood and hair. Only you and your blood can hold it, to other humans they will not lift it and for demons they cannot hold it or it will burn their very flesh off without your consent.'
'Wow' said Kagome. 'My very own sword and from my father no less' Mirdo nodded 'Yes it is very special. More powerful than the tensaiga or the tetsaiga put together, it's name is on the hilt. It can manipulate the weather and many more unbelievable thing that you must find on your own it will appear during your fight.'
Mirdo cocked her head as if listening to something. 'I must go now, but before I do I have one message to relay to you from your father, he says that he loves you and to take care of your family.' With those last words she disappeared.
Kagome woke to the sense of youkai's, she figured them to be a coupe of miles away. Alerting the group, they broke camp and waited for the battle. They heard them coming, the cries of youkai's. they rushed to the battle field where they were approuching. Naraku at the back looking on as they fought for their lives
For an hour they had fought until only Naraku was left. They were all weary, but Kagome still had a lot of energy the fight only rising it. Then Kagome saw with horror as Naraku Rushed at her only to fade out and struck Shippou dead. She had felt the rage boil up in her and her sword appeared in her hand using all her powers she released it towards Naraku in a single swipe disintegrating him, but his soul ran away weak and barely alive.
The shards came together and it formed a whole jewel than rushed into her hands instantly purifying it. "Give it here Kagome," said Inuyasha. "No," she said in a firm voice. Inu Yasha rushed at her rushed at her with the tetsaiga drawn but since she was human it diddn't transform. She blocked every move with ease thanks to Sesshoumaru's training. Seeing that Inuyasha was no match for Kagome he said slyly. "If you don't give it to me I'll kill them." He pointed to the barley conscious Sango and Miroku. "No!", Kagome cried as Inuyasha struck them down. Calling on Protector Kagome used it's power to create a hole in the ground leading to hell. She rushed to Kikyou and threw her into the hole, Inuyasha shouted and jumped in. Closing the hole she thought how stupid he was to fall for it.
~*End Flash Back*~ DID I NOT TELL YOU IT WAS LONG?!
Kagome remembered her friends, using the Protector she brought them to life.
"M-mama, what happened?" a shaking Shippou asked. "All that I remember is Naraku laughing and then nothing."
"Don't worry everything is alright," Kagome cooed to her son hugging him. Looking to Sango and Miroku with sad eyes when they looked for Inuyasha. They understood when they saw her eyes.
They flew to Kaede's village. There they stayed the night and talked about what to do. They all decided that Kagome and Shippou should go back to Kagome's time, and they could visit every month a year. That morning they left for the future.
