Kagome shot up on her bed and glared at the alarm clock for a brief second and was about to destroy the evil thing for disturbing her precious sleep that she had so little of, when she glanced at the time.
"AARRRGGG! Sonofabit-" Kagome broke off when she felt Shippou stirring next to her. She desperately started to wake him faster by nudging him awake. He can't be late for school again, if he does I'll have to talk to that weird teacher again.
~FLASH BACK~
SCHEEEEECH
The car came to a skidded stop right in front of the school building. Shippou rushed out of the car and ran with all of his might to his class. Kagome was right behind of him and was coming with excuses she could tell the teacher instead of 'I'm so sorry that were late but Shippou was playing around with Buyo, the family cat, by turning into a cute pink bubble and bopping him on the head, while I was thinking of the good old times when I was in the feadual era finding shards of a sacred jewel, and we lost track of time.'
They stopped in font of a blue door and tried to make themselves presentable. Kagome kneeled in front of Shippou and started to fix his hair. Kagome had help Shippou along with his powers after Midro had passed away and created a good illusion for Shippou to use while in the school and out of the house. He lost his fangs and fox like features and it became taller; he retained his red brownish hair and blue eye though.
"Okay ready," she asked him. He nodded his head and motioned for her to knock on the door. Kagome politely knocked on the door and it swung open to reveal an odd looking man that was short and fat. 'Uhhhgg ' thought Kagome. 'He looks like cross of a pug and what comes out of a pug.' Kagome then notice that the teacher was trying to look up her skirt.
"AACK!" Kagome shouted and then slapped him. "Hentai!" She then notice giggling and turned around to see all of the kids laughing then she saw that Shippou was shaking his head in amusement and embarrassment.
"UUHHGG" moaned the teacher on the ground. He got up and shook her hand very vigorously. "HelloI'mShippou'steacheryoumustbehismotherit'sonhonortoseeyouashealwaysreg ardsyouintheveryhighestposit ion."
"Umm, okay," Kagome said slowly as she was still unsure of this teacher and was wondering if she was able to switch Shippou's class. She looked at her watch and notice that she too would be late for school if she didn't leave very soon. "Well waddiya know I have to go now," she said in a fake voice. She walked past the teacher and out the door. Passing Shippou she whispered, " Have a good time and be good". She looked back at the teacher and notice he was challenging one of the students to see who could stick the most crayons up his nose. Turing back to Shippou she added, "We'll talk later about your um choice of teachers." With that she went out of the school.
~END FLASH BACK~
"Shippou, Shippou honey. I'm so sorry but it's late and you still have to get to school. Come on Shippou wake up.
"Hmmp" groaned Shippou into the covers. He had been playing video games with his new Uncle Sota and so he had slept very late. Kagome had told him to go to bed at 9o'clock but she knew he had stayed up later, until almost midnight. She had watch as he had stumbled into their bedroom last night. It had been hard to break their habit of sleeping next to each other, so Shippou still slept next to her even though he had his own finely furnished room across the hall. He had on his little pajama's that had pictures of little foxes on them and was snuggling further into the covers trying desperately to retain what little sleep he had.
'Poor Shippou' Kagome thought. 'But I did tell him to sleep early.' Kagome sighed at Shippou shaking her head in a motherly gesture. She gently picked Shippou up into her arms. she threw the covers back on the bed and walked to the bathroom that was conveniently located right next door. Kagome felt slightly guilty at the act that she would have to in order to show Shippou a lesson and wake him up. Kagome then smiled at the thoughts that ran through her head as she remembered the day that she had brought Shippou along with her to her time.
~FLASH BACK~ Two Months Ago
Kagome jumped up from the well and landed softly on her feet without noise. She looked down at the little kitsune in her arms, that was almost jumping. His face was full of excitement and also a touch of fear. Kagome reach with one of her free hand and nudge Shippou's face to look up at her face. She spoke softly to him which was very comforting to the little child that was now living with his new mother in a now new place that he knew he would call his home.
"What are you so afraid of Shippou?" Kagome asked even though she could already guess what it was. As she was waiting for his answer she walked up to the god tree and sat beneath its soothing shade that was always able to help comfort her in one way or another. She still held onto Shippou as she could feel the emotions whirling in his head as he tried to answer her question.
"I..I'm afraid that your family might not like me at all mama," Shippou said with his face looking at his feet, at his hands, and feeling his tail. "Could they accept me as a demon and understand that your my new mama?" Now he looked up at the tree where the leaves of the ancient tree that had been around since the feudal era now help to give them shade. "A..And what if I can't keep up with all the stuff I have to do? I don't know how to read or write and I have to do that now much more than I would have back in time. There will be a lot of human children that will know so much more than me, what if they don't like me."
Kagome nodded her head. She understood. She knew that they would have to work real hard for the next month before the new school year would begin. It would be tough but if they worked hard Shippou would have the required knowledge as any child would already have his age. "Don't worry Shippou," she said softly to his ear as she pulled him closer to him. Those two words she knew was enough for him, then she hugged him unconsciously wanting him to know he had no reason to be afraid. And it was as if he did understand her as he snuggled into her warmth.
"My family will accept you. How could they not you are so adorable and still with all the hardships we have both seen you still remain so good," Kagome said. "As for making new friends all we need is a good magic trick to make you seem like a human and control your urges to make mischief and you'll be rolling around in friends."
"K..Ka...Kagome?" stuttered a feminine voice not too far away. Kagome whirled around to see that her mother, grandfather, and little brother was standing near the door of their home all holding groceries. It seemed that her mother was the one who had spoken to her. She took a tentative step in the direction of her missing daughter of two frightful years she had ever endured and fainted dead away.

Kagome smiled at the memory of the unsure Shippou that had long past. Indeed they had worked hard with Shippou and it seemed that all the facts he had to learn he understood very easily that in fact he had been able to skip unto fith grade instead of the second grade. This fact made all of Kagome's friends, that had rekidled their long friendship, very sure that Shippou was Kagome's son since he was so smart. (A/n: look in chp 1 during Kurama's birth day.)
Kagome had reached the bathroom and stood in front of the shower. Gently she place Shippou on the cool tiles of the shower and turned on the cold shower.
"AAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
The three people downstairs sweat dropped at this. Mrs. Higurashi looked accusingly at her young son. "Did you make Shippou stay up all night?" she asked her son.
"Hehehe, well I didn't force him to stay and play video games with me," Sota said trying in vain to not get in trouble.
"Well you knew that Shippou had school today and that you had too so why didn't you send Shippou to bed earlier? Hmmm?"
Kagome stood in the door watching her brother get creamed by her mother. She shook her head and walk in to save her brother. She put her hand on her mother's shoulder as a sign that she can stop. "Mama it's okay Shippou's up and the lack of sleep won't really hurt Shippou he's a demon he is very strong." Kagome added the last part when she felt Shippou enter the doorway.
"That's right I'm strong," Shippou said arrogantly. He knew that his mother said the last part so he wouldn't get mad a her and it worked. He walked up to his grandmother and turned into a pink balloon to kiss her on the cheek since he couldn't reach, then he turned back to normal once again. He started to eat the pancakes on the table when he notice that his mama wasn't eating. "Mama aren't you hungry?"
"I'll be fine Shippou, I'll just go and see how the dogs are doing." Shippou nodded at this and watch his mother walk out the back door.
~WITH KAGOME~
Walking out of the house Kagome took a deep breath of the nice fresh air. She wandered to the backyard and saw her 'pets'. Kagome had always been worried about her family if a youkai would attack and she or Shippou will not be here. So she came up with of course guardians. With her magic she had successfully created two guardians. But in order for it to work she had to form a host bodies for the guardians to reside in. What better guard other than dogs.
She smiled at them and thought of who they acted like formed in her head. One was a Sesshoumaru and the other was an Inuyasha. So they became Sesshy and Inu. As soon as she became within smell and hearing distance the two dogs rushed at Kagome. They tackled her down and began to say their morning greetings through barks and licks. Kagome laugh as she was able to pry the two dogs off. Sesshy moved off and watch from the side while Inu was already playing with a ball.
Then Kagome felt something interrupt her thoughts. Kagome closed her eyes and let her senses branch out through the Shrine. 'There!' Kagome had pinpointed the source of the power. It seemed that we would be getting some visitors soon. Kagome shook her head if the were any trouble at all Sesshy and Inu would be more than enough to protect her family.
She didn't realize so many time had already passed when she heard Shippou Shout "Would you hurry up I'll be late for school," Kagome look in shock at her watch. 'Oh no! It's 7:45!(A/n: My school starts at eight so theirs will too.) She rushed to the house but not with out a pat on the head on Sesshy and Inu.
Getting inside she went Up the stairs she shouted, "Get the bike out and move it to the front, I'll be there!" 'Oh no! Please no!' Reaching her room she put on some clothes. She smiled when she thought of her bike. It was so pretty and blue too. It's good to finally have my own wheels!
Going out she kissed her mother's and grandfather's cheek and notice that her brother had already left. When she had said goodbye her mother reminded her of something. "Kagome dear remember that you grandfather and I are going out as soon as we are done eating, alright?" "Kay, mama!"
She rushed out of the house when she spotted a few people by the god tree. 'Well I guess they are here.' She was about to call out to them when Shippou reminded her of something. "Mama! Hurry up!" Kagome nodded her head at Shippou and got on the bike, when she felt that Shippou was on and secure she took off.

They reached the school just as the school bell rang. Shippou got off and ran off to his class. Kagome kept her eye on him and when he was out of her sight she felt around for him with her senses. When she was assured that he was safely in class she went home. 'It's good thing that that I don't have school today' Now Kagome would have a free day and be able to give most of her attention to the strange people back home.
When she reached home she found the people still there. She rode her motorcycle up the ramp and in to the shack right next to the well house. When she came out she studied the people in front of her and politely introduce herself to them. ""Hello, I'm Kagome." she said in a polite voice. "May I ask who you all are?"
