Chapter One

It's been 2 years since Kagome had last set foot in the well. She was looking down into the deep dark depths of it. Reminiscing in the past. It had hurt to think about it too much. Kagome sighed.

`Squish'

“Ahhh! Damn Sonofva-”
This was the daily routine of the young Reikai prince. He had not too long ago asked Botan to get the Reikai Tentai. “George! Why is Botan so late! I have a urgent case for Yusuke. This is all your fault!!!” Said ogre was hiding behind a stack of paper, away from his bosses yelling. “Jeez why doesn't he go and yell at Botan instead of me once in a while”? Just as the toddler- I mean Koenma had stop yelling there was a loud yelling outside of the office door.

“Koenma just had to make me miss another date with Keiko. What is wrong with him!!! When I get into that office I'm gonna stick that pacifier up his ass so far up he'd need surgery to get it out!” Yelled the young spirit detective. “Yusuke! What in the three realms took you so long? Oh good, you got the others!” The `others' consisted of a large and `cough' ugly `cough' young man in a blue school uniform, with orange Elvis-like hairdo. A short spiky haired man in black robe with a katana hidden under it, and a gorgeous young man with fiery red hair up to his shoulders and fairly tall in a pink school uniform.

“Well we're here aren't we? So spill. What's the new `oh so important' mission you have for us?” “Huh? Oh yes.” Koenma had taken a remote and pushed a button. Once he had click it a picture of a shrine appeared. “This is Higurashi Shrine or Sunset Shrine as people sometimes call it. We have been getting strange energy readings around the areas of an old well house. But since the readings have been very weak we didn't bother checking on it. Two years ago the flashes had stopped-”

The young Reikai ruler was interrupted. “What the hell?!? If they stopped two years ago than why do we need to go there now? What's making those energy flashes should be gone so there. Oh what a complex mission this is.” Yusuke ranted. He didn't like The sound of Higurashi shrine. He felt like he knew it from somewhere. A smooth voice had then said. “Why don't you let Koenma finish what he was saying Yusuke?” “Thank you Kurama. As I was saying. Two years ago the flashes had stopped but now I have a suspicion that whatever had cause them is still here.” “How do you know that?” Said Kuwabara.

“Well Botan had been flying on her oar above this particular shrine and said that she had saw a small young boy playing with his mother. The strange thing was that she couldn`t get past and fly through the shrine. The barrier is extremely strong. Botan also sensed some strange energy coming out of the mother. When Botan got close to the barrier the mother had stiffened and got inside the house.”

Koenma had pressed the button once more and then four pictures had appeared. “These are the people who live in the shrine. The first one with the long black hair is Kagome Higurashi. The next are Souta, Kun-loon, and Hatsumaru Higurashi. The young kitsune kit has not been identified yet.”

They had all looked at the pictures and the instance Kuwabara had seen Kagome's picture he had said this. “Oh my Kami, she's so pretty! I wonder if she would be my girlfriend?” That had earned him a one way trip to dream land by Hiei. Hiei had muttered a faint `baka' and then remained silent once again.

Koenma sweat dropped. “Right… I want you to investigate the shrine to see if these youkai are a threat and bring Kagome and the small kit too.

Youko had just woken up in time to get a glimpse of Kagome's picture.

~Ohhh!!! Red, who's the little vixen?~ Youko squealed in Shuuichi's head.
*That's Kagome Higurashi. Part of our newest mission.*
~You mean we NEED to spend time with this beauty. What luck!!!~

Shuuichi groaned, this was not good. Youko will bombard me with images of her for the rest of the week. Not that she wasn't pretty-

~Ha! You think she's pretty too!~
*I think she's pretty. That doesn't mean that I want to get her into bed! Unlike you.*
~What's wrong with doing that?~ Youko said casually.
*I'm way too young for that!!! I mean I'm just 18!*

Yusuke' voice had then stopped him from his internal argument with Youko. “Oi, Kurama! Lets get to Higurashi shrine and get this mission over with.” They had all stepped into the portal made by Botan.

(A.N.-I wonder if I should end it here… *Sees people with sporks saying “I'll spork your eyes out if u do” I guess not…)

Once they stepped out of the portal they saw that they were actually outside the shrine. “Botan! I thought we were suppose to be IN the shrine. I don't want to walk up all these stairs!” Yusuke yelled. “If you were listening Yusuke, we covered that my powers do not work here.” Botan said, a little mad. She made herself a portal back to Reikai and left.

When they finally reached the top Yusuke was exhausted. Kuwabara looked like he could pass out at any minuet. The demons of the group were just perfectly fine though. They started to walk toward the shrine.
