It has been 5 years since she returned to her own time and a year and a half since she met Hiei. The demon was found when Miroku and herself was on their way home, and was then brought into the family.

 

Hiei had been reserved for a few weeks, trying to remember anything. Through some sources from Sesshomaru, they found out that he is a forbidden child with both fire and ice element surrounding his aura, his third eye is called a Jagan which has the ability to call out a black dragon. Also, he worked for Koenma, son of Enma, as a spirit detective to repay for his crimes with Shuichi Minamino also known as Youko Kurama, Yusuke Urameshi, and Kazuma Kuwabara. However, their group was disbanded in order to have time to look for Hiei.

 

They learned of his fights from mission, the dark tournament; and also, found that he had a sister named Yukina, who lives with a woman named Genkai.

 

After Hiei recovered from his wounds, he lived at Miroku's house, which was much bigger than a house but more like a mansion. The mansion was located far from the city, but closer to the forests. Sango, Miroku, Kirara, Shippo, Hiei and I all resided at Miroku's house, but Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru, Rin, Kagura lived someplace else.

 

When Hiei was comfortable with everyone, we told him about all the information we obtained. He was hesitant at first, but he asked, “How do you all know about this? “

 

“We have our sources.” I answered.

 

“I see. So you all know about me, yet I do not know anything about all of you.”

 

I looked at everyone and they all had nodded.

 

“This Sesshoumaru approved that Hiei is able to keep our secrets. However, Hiei, this secret is only for the safety of this family. If you reveal this secret to anyone, I will kill you without hesitation.”

 

“Yes.”

 

Once everyone had agreed, I told him everything about the Shikon Jewel, how we all met, how we defeated Naraku but lost a few precious friends, how the jewel was finally complete but remain dormant, how Midoriko appeared and allowed everyone passage to the well only once.

 

“After Miroku, Sango, Rin, Shippo and I jumped into the well, Inuyasha and the others were already outside the door waiting for us, just like they promise. They did not want to come to the modern time with us because they wanted to know where all the demons were. When we all reunited, they told us that the world had been split into 3, as Reikai (spirit world), Makai (demon world,) and Ningenkai (Human World) and how they were able to live in Ningenkai because the spirit world knew their accomplishment of the Shikon Jewel.”

 

“This family is widely known in Reikai and Makai, and is more superior to Enma and the demon lords in Makai. However, Kagome is the most famous person, also called the Shikon Guardian. She is the most powerful out of all of us and is guarded. We are here to hide ourselves from other demons after Kagome.” Inuyasha answered.

 

“Inuyasha, that's so sweet!”

 

“Feh!”

 

“So Hiei, what will you do now? You know everything about this family and yourself.”

 

Then, Hiei kneeled with his sword in front of him, “Hn, I remember most of my memories, except how I was severely wounded. So I would like to make a request. May I stay in this…family and repay you for saving my life?”

 

“But what about your friends and your sister? They are still looking for you.”

 

“Since our team disbanded, I no longer need to concern myself about them, and when they find me, I will tell them about my debt to this family. Yukina will be safe as long as the others are with her.”

 

“I see. Then I will accept your request. And your payment will be becoming the next president of Miroku's company.”

 

Hiei stared at her in shocked and said, “I know nothing about Ningenkai and about running a company.”

 

“We will teach you. The reason for this is because Miroku will be getting married to Sango in a few months. And with a baby coming along, he will be more helpful being with Sango. Do not worry; I will stay as your secretary.”

 

One day, after he became the president of Miroku's company, he asked me,” Kagome, when you found me, why did Miroku acted superior to you?”

 

“Because I still have the Shikon Jewel even though it is dormant it can still be used and they need me for them to grant their wish.”

 

In daylight, Hiei is the president and I am his secretary, but at night, he would be my guardian. He barely speaks when he is at work but when our work is finally done, we would walk home together and share about our memories, problems and opinions. Little by little, I became attracted to him. After a few days, Sango told about me that Hiei may have feelings for me as well, because Hiei only calls her Kagome, when he calls her “woman”. I told her that it might just be about me as the Guardian; however, during our conversation I did not noticed Hiei was listening outside the room. He confronted me later that day and told me he was also attracted to me, however, it cannot go beyond that because of our duty and I had agreed with him.

 

As we head home, we walk side by side and hold hands. The others had tried to make our relationship deeper, however it was useless. Because to us, duty comes first.
