A/N: Hey everyone, this is my first ever songfic, but every time I hear this song ideas flood my mind and I had to write this one out. It was obvious that he hadn't regained his memories when they first met at her new job on the Reikai Tantei. He didn't remember the Moon Kingdom or any of it. But she did. She remembered everything. And it hurt a part of her to see the one she had loved again. But Nikkiara had learned to hide her emotions well, and no one ever noticed that something was wrong. It was only at night did she cry. She cried over the lives that had been killed, and cried over a lost love. She would do her best no to think about him. But her dreams always carried the memories of the past, and with them came her Ares, Prince of Mars.

You don't remember me,

But I remember you.

I lie awake and try so hard

Not to think of you

But who can decide

What they dream

And dream I do

She would wake up from a fitful night's sleep, the pain worsened. And she would have to face him, always hiding the pain. And to think she used to look for him, thinking that he would ease the pain. She never thought he would worsen it.

*Flashback*

"Nikki-chan , why are you so intent on finding him? How do you even know that he has been reborn?"

Nikkiara turned to her blonde haired cousin, Serenity, now Usagi. "It's just a gut feeling, Usa-chan. I know he's been reborn. Aunt Selenity wouldn't keep the only thing I lived for dead." She whispered, tracing a scar on her wrist from her past life. She was never sure how she, a simple bodyguard for Princess Serenity ended up with the Price of Mars. "He's why I lived back then, Usa. Now.......I need him to live. And I'll do anything to find him."

Usagi nodded, knowing that she wouldn't be able to stop her friend, but she was worried about this need becoming an obsession.

*End Flashback*

After a few months of working with him, Nikkiara began to doubt that he would ever remember. `He should have remembered by now.' She thought, sitting down on the roof of her house, and leaning against the side of her window. She buried her head in her arms, resting them on her knees, and cried silently, just as she had done every night for the past 3 months. The full moon shone brightly in the sky, shining down sadly upon the protector of its Princess. She was beginning to regret falling in love. She looked up quickly as she heard her window open, before a figure came out. They gazed silently met as another tear slipped down Nikkiara's cheek. He knelt before her, wiping away the tear as their eyes finally met. Nikki's eyes widened slightly at the emotions that rested in his eyes. Love, and compassion, and so many others. She could tell he still didn't remember, but right now.......this was enough. Tentatively, she leaned forward, their lips meeting. And the moon rejoiced.

Have you forgotten all I know

And all we had?

You saw me mourning my love for you,

And touched my hand.

I knew you loved me then.

Nikkiara pulled back far too soon. With just one kiss, she had started feeling things she felt she shouldn't, even if she did love him. She could tell that he was having the same effects.

"I won't force you into anything you don't want to do." He whispered.

Nikkiara waited a moment before nodding. He leant in this time, and Nikkiara met him. The night progressed from there.

Nikkiara woke up the next morning, squinting in the light of the rising sun. She blinked, before the previous nights events came rushing back to her, and she blushed. She glanced over at the body beside her, noticing that he was still asleep. She looked around the room, and spotted a large T-shirt within grabbing reach of the bed. She reached out and picked it up, slipping it on, before getting out of bed, making sure not to wake her lover up. She walked into the bathroom that was connected to her bedroom, and turned on the faucet, splashing cold water on her face. She leaned her head against the cool glass, and stood there, thinking. She looked up into the mirror, and gasped slightly at the reflection of him, before it changed back to hers. It was then she noticed something different.

Her eyes had turned the same as his.

I look in the mirror and see your face

If I look deep enough,

So many things inside that are just like

You are taking over…

Nikkiara was jerked out of her reverie by a familiar voice.

"Snow?"

Her eyes widened as she looked over to her new, yet old lover. "What did you call me?" Only Ares knew her by that name, a nickname he had given her back in the Millennium. His eyes were different now, somehow. They were the same but held……something else. It hit her hard.

"Ares?" she asked, weakly, holding onto the bathroom counter, scared her legs would give out. He nodded, and her legs finally gave way, but he caught her, like always.

"Some things never change." He remarked smirking.

"Shut up." Nikkiara whispered, leaning up to kiss him as a tear of joy ran down her face. He was back. Hiei Jaganshi had finally remembered his past.
