Chapter One:

You open your (Color) eyes to be greeted by shinning amber ones. With a quick yelp you scrambled up onto your knees, only to be tackled down onto your bed by no other than your dog. (A/N: Let's say you have Siberian huskies) With a few curses and swats, you somehow manage to pry the silver and white dog off of you, only to be replaced by a black one.

"Gah! I presume that you guys want outside?" You question your puppies to which they replied to with a few yips.

You stood up, scanning the room for any remnants of blood, and to your pleasure found none. `It was all a dream.' With a sigh of relief, you ambled over to the patio doors and opened them, allowing your `babies' to run outside. Returning to your room, you flop back onto your bed and fall into a dreamless sleep.

Knock knock

Groan

Knock knock knock

Silence…

KNOCK KNOCK!

As the knocking became unbearable, you finally got up out of bed in your pajama's, (which consisted of a tank top and sponge bob briefs…XD) walked over to the front door and unlocked it.

Standing there was a cop from the local detachment. Oh joy. "Miss…" he opened his mouth to speak, but no sound came out.

"Yes, may I help you?" You said after he just stood there, for what seemed forever in your opinion. Just as sudden as stopped talking, he slumped forwards into your arms. Caught off guard, you caught him. Wrapping your arms around his shoulders, you drag him inside your house. Panicking, you lay him down on the welcome matt, and run to the nearest phone. You make to pick it up, but stop when you see a bright red liquid on your hands. `Oh god, oh god' your mind screams, and you look down to see a trail of red droplets leading back to where you came from. You panic, and run back to the unconscious cop. You round a corner on your way to the front entrance and stop dead in your tracks. `Oh dear lord, this cant be happening!' The man that was just previously speaking to you was lying in a puddle of his own blood. "NO!" You scream, and back away from the man, not even trying to take his pulse. You knew he was dead, with the amount of blood lying around, there was no way he could possibly be still alive. Your body starts trembling, and you run outside. Your hand's, they covered in blood, yet again. "HELP! HELP!" Is all you manage to get out before collapsing into a heap in the middle of the road. You manage to lift your head when you hear the blaring of a horn, and then total blackness overtook you…

You woke up to screaming, a high pitch blood curdling scream. You shot up, only to be pushed back down onto what you were currently resting on. "Get a doctor! Somebody!" You scanned the room, and rest on a nurse. She looked to be in her late forty's, and grumpy to boot. "Amelia! We need a doctor here NOW!" And with that, a younger nurse, who you presumed to be Amelia shot out of the room in search of a doctor. "Miss, miss? Can you hear me?" Huh? What was this? You looked over at her and realized that she had been trying to speak to you for the last few minutes with both of her arms placed on your shoulders, bracing you down.

"Whaa..." Was all you managed to get out when the other nurse, what was her name….Amelia, came back with what looked to be a doctor. He strode across the room and muttered something to the old bag, and looked at you.

"Miss, can you hear me?" He spoke softly.

"Y…e…" was all you managed to stutter out. Damn it all!

"That's good enough." He darted over to some machines that were currently residing next to your bed, and oddly enough they were attached to you.

"Wha- where's the man?" You rasped out. Surprised with your ability to speak, the doctor came closer to you.

"What man are you talking about?" He spoke to you as if you were a two year old child…Prick.

"The cop! W-"you were cut off as you suddenly started coughing. The doctor ran over to your I.V., and placed another bag of liquid on the stand…err, thinger. "What happened to him?" You managed to stutter out as he made his way over to you once again.

"Cop? I don't recall any cops, miss." He said, standing beside your bed.

"But-but, my house! Did you search my house?" Your body started trembling again, as you recalled the lifeless form lying in your foyer. Forcing that image out of your mind, you glanced at the doctor again, only to receive a look of sympathy.

"Miss, you have been in a coma now for about 2 months. The things you have experienced are nothing more than a figment of your imagination. There was-"but you weren't paying attention anymore.

"What happened?" Your voice sounded raspy and hoarse to your ears. "I mean, after he…." You started trembling again. That image kept popping up in your mind, and you couldn't take it anymore. You passed out…again.

YAY! Chapter one completed. Sorry about the short-ness, and maybe the confusion factor (my sister said it made no sense, and I was like WHA!?) but I shall clear things up later on in the story, as well as lengthen the chapters. Hopefully in the next chapter you'll meet the spirit detectives! WHEE!

As far as pairings go, I have it planned out as a You X Youko, but opinions are always welcome!
