~Chapter 2: Blackout Fighting And Misteltoe Kisses~
Marlene sits on the couch with Hiei when Ryou walks to her. Marlene looks up at him.
"Hey, how's Bakura-kun?" she asked.
Ryou sighed. "I'm not sure. He's been sick for more than a week now. It's the first time I've
seen him like this. And it doesn't look like he's getting any better."
Marlene smiled. "Don't worry Ryou. I'm sure he'll be okay. But if it'll make you feel better,
you can borrow some medicine from me. You'll find in the bathroom, inside the first-aid kit."
"Thanks, Marlene. You're a life saver." Ryou left again.
Marlene stood up. "This party need's something more..." She approached the light switch and
smirked. "LIGHTS OUT!"
And she turned the lights out. The room was in total blackout, which confused Marlene.
'Oops, forgot to turn on my christmas tree.' she thought.
Suddenly she heard some screaming and loud thuds coming from where the others were dancing.
"OW! Who slammed into me?!" came Marik's voice.
"Marik is sitting on me, HELP!" Ryou cried.
"Yukina-chan, where are you?!" Kuwabara yelled. His hands grabbed something. "Ah, there you
are! My sweet Yukina!"
"YOU BAKAYARO! GET YOUR SWEATY HANDS AWAY FROM ME!" Yusuke shouted.
"Urameshi?! Where's Yukina?"
"Guys, onegai, stop fighting. You're going to reck the house." said Kurama.
"AAAHHH!! Someone is groping my chest!" Botan yelled.
"Oops, sorry miss." said Honda.
*WHACK* A punch was heard.
"OW!"
"Hiei, where are you?" Marlene said, forgeting about the light switch.
"WHY IN THE UNDELWORLD ALE YOU PEOPLE YELLING SO MUCH?!" everyone heard a rough, ill-sounding
voice from the top of the stairs. "AAAAACHOO!"
"Bakura?!" said Ryou. "What are you doing here? You are suppose to be in bed!"
"Your yells woke me up!" Bakura replied, his nose feeling a little better so he talked better
too. "And why the hell is it so dark here? What kind of party are you trying to have? I can't
see a damn thing."
"Wait Bakura!" Marlene yelled. "Watch for that first-!"
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!" A loud series of thuds were heard.
"-step." Marlene finished.
The noise ended with two loud cries, Ryou searched desperately for his yami.
"Bakura, are you alright?!" he yelled into the dark.
"Owwww." came a pitiful cry, which was barely heard. "I thing I broke something. what is this
soft thing I landed on?"
"Tomb robber." Yami growled. "Since you're ill, I'll give you two seconds TO. GET. OFF. ME!!"
"Touchy." Bakura got of the angry pharaoh.
"Marlene, would you turn on the lights, already?!" yelled a frustrated Malik.
"I can't find the switch!"
Everyone groaned.
"Okay, everyone calm down. I just forgot to turn on my christmas tree. So someone try to find
the tree and turn it on while I try to find the switch."
Jou walked in the dark. "And how you expect us to find-AHH!" He crashed into something,
which at the same time fell on Seto.
"AHH!" Seto cried.
"I think he found it." said Mokuba.
"Jou, get this tree off me or I'll pull out my dog whistle!" Seto yelled.
"Are you calling a dog again?!"
"Hey, bad doggy. Be good and I'll get a dog leash just for you."
"Why you-!"
"Jou, that's enough!" yelled Yugi.
"I found the switch!" Marlene said in victory. The lights turned on. "AH! My tree! You better
fix this, Jou!"
"Yeah, puppy, fix the tree. After all, dogs like trees for-"
"Shut up, Kaiba!"
Few people managed to escape the chaos. Yami and Bakura sat at the foot of the stairs, Seto
lay on the floor with a big christmas tree over him and Mokuba beside him, Jou was lifting the tree,
Marik sat on Ryou's back, who yelled at him to get off, Honda was on the floor too with a
black eye, though not as black as the one Marlene gave to Jou, Botan stood over him, glaring
at him, and Yusuke and Kuwabara stood in front of each other, glaring sparks into each other's
eyes. Marlene saw Hiei still sitting calmly on the couch.
Jou turned the christmas tree's lights on.
"There, that's better." Marlene said and turned off the lights again. The tree iluminated the
room with blue lights.
Ryou went to Bakura and helped him up while Serenity did the same with Yami.
"You should go back to bed. You look awful, Bakura."
"But my nose feels better now. See? My voice doesn't sound stupid anymore." Bakura said.
"Is you throat still sore?"
"Yeah, and my chest feels awfully tight."
"That doesn't sound good. Come with me. I'll get you something to drink."
Bakura followed Ryou to the kitchen. Ryou went in first while Bakura stood in front of the
doorway. They both stopped in place at what they saw.
Marlene and Hiei were kissing passionately yet again, not caring who saw them.
"Geez, get a room you two." said Bakura. "I swear everytime I turn you guys are kissing."
Bakura noticed some kind of plant hanging from the ceiling over Marlene and Hiei's heads.
"What is that thing?" he asked, pointing at the thing.
Marlene pulled away from Hiei. The fire demon let her, reluctantly. She turned to Ryou and
Bakura. Then glanced up at the mistletoe.
"It's a mistletoe. It's an old christmas tradition. You have to kiss whoever is under the
mistletoe."
"Oh really?" Bakura sounded bored while Ryou prepared a glass of water for him.
"Hai, wanna try it?"
"Huh?"
Marlene pointed over his shoulder. "Because the person behind you is standing under one too."
She giggled.
Bakura turned to see who was behind him. Whoever it was must've heard everything Marlene said.
His eyes widened. There was Yami, standing under the mistletoe hanging in the doorway and
staring with wide eyes. The shocked look on Yami's face suddenly turned into a Touch-me-and-you're-dead
look.
"Don't you even dare, tomb raider." Yami said, his voice dragging a dangerous, murderous tone.
"Ewwww." Bakura turned his back at him. "Like I'd want to kiss a leech like you."
"What did you say?!"
Bakura turned again and they both glared at each other, sparks flying from their eyes.
"Are you deaf?!"
"Yami, Bakura, don't fight! It's Christmas Eve!" Marlene scolded them. She turned to Yami. "Yami,
you know Bakura is still sick. Let him be!"
Bakura smirked at the fuming pharaoh.
The princess turned to the thief. "And you, Bakura, you're going back to bed!"
"What are you, my mother?! You can tell me what to do!"
"No, but I can make you!" Ryou said as he shoved a glass of water in Bakura's hands and pulled
the struggling tomb raider back to the guest room.
"So...what now?" said Yami.
"Go back to the party." Marlene said. "Hiei and me will be busy for a while. Could you please
turn the kitchen light off on your way out? Arigato." She and Hiei kissed again.
Yami shook his head and sighed. He left the kitchen to the two love birds and turned off the
lights.
