A new look at a song fic. Probably been done before, but I haven't seen it yet. The thought of Hiei suddenly breaking out in song entertains me. Even if it is as dark as Nine Inch Nails.
I don't own Yu Yu Hakusho, or Nine Inch Nail's song `The Hand That Feeds”.
Hiei watched Kurama from a distance, a dark scowl on his face. For too long he's watched the kitsune eagerly become one with this human world. He had adapted way too easily, working hard for nothing, the only way to become better than another is to get a better occupation than the next. Nothing was measured by brute strength or cold ruthlessness one needed to survive in the Makia. It was sickening.
He waited silently, following the kitsune as he made his way home in the ningen contraption he called a `car', waiting for his moment…
Kurama sighed heavily, the stress from his day at the office wearing him down emotionally, though you could not tell through his calm mask. Being an accountant wasn't easy. He slowly pulled into his driveway at his new house in the middle of the forests near Genkai's and climbed out of the small two door red car, his briefcase in one hand as he walked towards the door.
The sound of something hitting the roof of his car caused him to turn quickly, his hand automatically reaching for a seed in his hair in alarm. He blinked at the sight in front of him, his head tilting to the side as he eyed the fire demon standing on the roof of his car. “Hiei? Why are you trying to dent the top of my car? Get down please…” he murmured, wondering how much it would cost to get the dents out…
Kurama was completely shocked when Hiei got off the roof, only to land on the hood of the car and pull out his katana before lunging at his friend with a murderous scowl. Kurama quickly moved, but not quick enough to spare the sleeve of his suit. “Damn it Hiei, what did I do this time?” he asked, annoyed by the charging fire demon, who was standing in front of him, katana hanging loosely at his side.
Hiei scowled deeply, his eye narrowing at the fox. “I am teaching you a lesson, fox..” he growled before lunging again, a small smirk coming to his face as Kurama retreated to the woods, away from the house. He easily avoided a snap of Kurama's whip, moving towards the kitsune quickly. He stopped just in front of him, dropping his katana as he glared up at the taller boy.
Hiei poked at Kurama's chest.
“You're keeping in step
In the line
Got your chin held high and you feel just fine
Because you do
What you're told
But inside your heart it is black and it's hollow and it's cold.”
In the line
Got your chin held high and you feel just fine
Because you do
What you're told
But inside your heart it is black and it's hollow and it's cold.”
Kurama blinked in surprise, his eyes widening as Hiei started singing the slightly familiar song. He began backing up, dropping his whip as Hiei met him step for step until his back hit a large tree. “Er, Hiei… What…” he was quickly cut off as Hiei grabbed his suit lapels, pulling the shocked Kitsune's face to his level.
“Just how deep do you believe?
Will you bite the hand that feeds?
Will you chew until it bleeds?
Can you get up off your knees?
Are you brave enough to see?
Do you want to change it?”
Will you bite the hand that feeds?

Can you get up off your knees?
Are you brave enough to see?
Do you want to change it?”
Kurama pulled away from Hiei, darting off to the side as he eyed the fire demon, trying to figure out what came over the fire demon. He `eeped' in an undignified manner when Hiei lunged, making Kurama land on his back with the fire demon straddling his hips. Kurama's breath hitched when he opened his eyes to discover the fast demon's face inches from his own. “H-Hiei?”
Hiei leaned forward ever so slightly, his eyes narrowing slightly as his now husky voice continues to fill Kurama's senses, sending a warm coil to begin in the fox's stomach as he stared into blood red eyes.
“What if this whole crusade's
A charade
And behind it all there's a price to be paid
For the blood
On which we dine
Justified in the name of the holy and the divine
Just how deep do you believe?
Will you bite the hand that feeds?
Will you chew until it bleeds?
Can you get up off your knees?
Are you brave enough to see?
Do you want to change it?
So naive
I keep holding on to what I want to believe
I can see
But I keep holding on and on and on and on…”

Kurama gasped, his body stilling as Hiei's lips crushed down on his own, though the shock quickly melted into pleasure and lust as Hiei licked and sucked at Kurama's lower lip, drawing a moan from the red head. Kurama opened his lust filled eyes when Hiei pulled away suddenly, his confusion returning as he stared up at Hiei.
Hiei blinked down at Kurama. He honestly didn't plan to kiss Kurama, though he was pleasantly surprised to have gotten such a wanted response from the kitsune. He shook the cobwebs out of his head before scowling down at Kurama, his hands resting by Kurama's head as he leaned forward. “You're a demon Kurama… You forget that. You put too much into this human existence you built to leave behind once your Mother passes to the next life...” he paused, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched Kurama squirm uncomfortably under him. Realization dawning on him as he widened his eyes, his head shaking back in forth slightly before standing and moving away front Kurama.
Hiei turned slightly away from Kurama as the red head stood on shaky feet, his hands balling into fists. He turned his head, a look of betrayal crossing his face as he watched the Kitsunes face fill with pleading. “Hiei… I…”
Hiei held up a hand, silencing Kurama. “You never planned to come back to the Makia… did you?” Hiei's heart broke when he saw the answer on his face. “Thought so…” Hiei turned from Kurama completely, showing the Kitsune his back. “Fine… if you'd rather become one of /them/ then go… I don't need you.” Hiei said coldly before becoming nothing but a black blur.
Kurama closed his eyes tightly, bringing his hand to his forehead as he stepped towards the spot Hiei disappeared from. He sighed heavily as he knelt, his eyes towards the sky as he picked up the rose that was once his whip. “Oh Hiei… But I need you, my love…” he murmured softly into the sky, his eyes dropping as he reverted the rose back into seed form and put it in his hair. His movements stilled as he looked down in shock at the perfect blood red tear gem lying in front of him.
Sighs Well, here she be. Let me know if you like… I may just turn this sad one-shot into a happy two-shot Depending on the reviews of course.
