Chapter 2: Meeting Hiei

She woke up with a feeling she wasn't used to. She was actually comfortable. She opens her eyes and realizes that this place was unfamiliar. She attempts to rise but a voice stops her.
“Lay back down, Onna. It's one o'clock in the morning.” The voice commanded. She looks around trying to find the source. Then she realized it was the same voice she had heard in the forest.
“Where you the one who helped me?” she asked.
No reply.
“Well, if you were thank you very much.” she says.
“Hn,” came the reply.
The room stays quiet for a moment, but then it hits her. Takedo was nowhere to be seen and she could not sense him either.
“Excuse me. Could I ask you a question?”
“Hn, you just did.”
“Oh, well I was just wondering where that dragon I was with is.” She says.
“I killed it.”
Her eyes widen. She couldn't believe that Takedo had died. He was her best friend.
He steps forward, looking at her strangely.
“What's wrong with you?” he asks.
“You didn't really kill him did you?” she asks, her voice full of concern.
“Yeah, why do you care. He's the one who attacked you, right.” He says cockily.
“No he didn't. He was helping me. He's my best friend.” She was near to tears. She looked at him and attempted to tackle him to the ground. She was to light to have done that but she did start to punch his chest. He grabbed her wrists with one hand and forced her to look up at him.
“Stop it baka. You shouldn't have put yourself in danger in the first place, otherwise he would still be alive.”
Horror crossed her face. Tears streamed down her face; she couldn't hold them in as she used to. His energy boosted and she could tell he was a fire demon. She stops suddenly when a thought came to mind.
“How did you kill him?” she asks.
“Hn. It doesn't matter, onna. Go back to sleep.” he replies coldly, pushing her back on the bed.
She stands back up. “Yes, It does. It's important to me. So please, how did you kill him?” she repeats with a little more force.
“I used the fist of immortal flame, onna, happy now?” he says, getting annoyed with the girl standing in front of him.
“Yes! Thank you so much!” she says hugging him. He blushes bright red and then shoves her off him.
“ What do you think your doing! I never said you could touch me!” he says angrily.
She just smiles at him. “ You used a fire technique against him, and he is almost completely immune to fire attacks. He is still alive.” She says.
She walked over to the window and opened it. Just before she jumped out it a hand grabbed her. She looks back, it was him.
“Do you mind letting go of me? I need to find Takedo.” She says, confusion written all over her face. He shakes his head and pulls her back through the window. He places her back on the bed.
“Go back to sleep, Onna.” He says turning to go sit on the windowsill.
“But, I really need to go find him. He might get into trouble.” She says.
“Hn, you didn't seem to care so much when you were going to let yourself die and leave him by himself. I think he can wait until morning.” He says, “ Now go back to sleep and we will both find him in the morning.”
“Really, you'll help me.” He nodded.
“Alright, night. Oh wait a minute, what's your name?” She asks. “Mine's Tala.”
“Hn, Hiei, now go to sleep.” He says firmly.
“ Goodnight, Hiei.”
He looks over at her. Why did he tell her he'd help her look? Why did he even tell her to stay? He could have easily let her go. Of course the others would be angry, that's why he did it. Or at least he convinced himself that that was why.
He sighed. He couldn't even figure out why he bothered to talk to her so much. On top of that he told her his name. She had told him hers first, she had a beautiful name. He mentally slapped himself. That baka onna had confused him already. Women were so annoying.
He looked back over to her. She was asleep. He would deal with her and put her in her place when she woke up. For now he would get his own, much-needed sleep.
