A/N:Here's a story that just popped into my mind while I was writing a sequel to my other story so please forgive me for that. Well I hope you enjoy! As a side note: In this story though I did mention Botan as a deity she is in fact working like a regular human the same can be said for the rest of the group.

 

A Tolerance to Alcohol

He had a little too much to drink to say the least. Not just him, but the entire Reikai Tentei were celebrating Yusuke and Keiko's engagement. He had proposed and she had of course said yes. No one had any doubt in their minds that they would make a great couple.

However it seemed that the celebration got a little out of hand. When Yusuke had dared Kurama into a drinking contest to see which one had the stronger tolerance towards alcohol. In the end both of them had managed to get themselves as drunk as skunks.

In the end it was somehow decided that Botan would have to take him home. She sighed wondering how she got suckered into this job, but then again this wasn't such a bad thing was it? She got to spend more time with her secret crush even though he wasn't exactly sober.

Kurama moaned; the blue haired deity therefore turned her attention to the redhead instead of her own thoughts. "Yes Kurama?" she asked in the sweetest tone that she could muster. "Where am I?" he asked in a slightly more demanding tone than usual; almost accusing as though she had kidnapped him.

She mentally laughed at the thought. "I'm just taking you home." she responded once again in her oh-so-sweet tone. The redhead simply groaned again. She rolled her eyes, so this was Kurama when he was drunk, well it was definitely better than Yusuke. He would simply act like a four year old child pretending to be a monkey.

Finally in front of Kurama's house; she mentally sighed knowing that she would have to say goodbye to her prince charming. The red-haired man who was previously leaning on her stopped and walked on his own to the front door of his house.

Botan simply shrugging didn't say anything else; she simply turned around and was about to go on her merry way; however before she had the chance to Kurama grabbed her wrist pulling her closer to him. The young girl gulped, a blush finding its way to her cheeks, as she gazed into his emerald eyes.

"I love you." he muttered pretty audibly; before slamming his door leaving the girl alone outside. Her eyebrow twitched 'I can't believe he said that and didn't even KISS me!' were the only thoughts running through her head.

Though later brushing the thoughts as an attribute of him being drunk (though to her dismay) she left for her own house; thoroughly disappointed and confused of the nights events.

THE NEXT DAY

It was 9:00 A.M in the morning, and Botan was ready to leave for her office. Suddenly she heard someone knocking on her front door. "Coming!" she called out wondering who would be bothering her at this time of morning.

She sighed then opened her door to find quite a shock. Kurama stood there looking quite flustered as her turned to her. "Botan," he began, "About last night-" He was cut off by the blue haired deity. "It's ok Kurama," she said, "I know it was probably the alcohol that got to you." It broke her heart to say those words but she remained strong.

Kurama pushed forth as his lips met hers; Botan's eyes widened a little, but she returned the kiss which shocked the half demon. As they broke off he said, "It wasn't the alcohol, I really do love you."

Botan could feel tears coming to her eyes as she embraced the man she loved whispering, "I love you to Kurama, and I always will."
