She was peacefully sleeping in a tree when she heard a voice say "Get out of my tree, ningen." She quickly opened her eyes to the sight of a guy about her size with black spiky hair and a white starburst in the middle. He also wore a white head band. It was Hiei. "I said get out of my tree, ningen!" said Hiei. She slowly climbed out of the tree and sat on the ground. "Stay out of my tree."said Hiei jumping onto a tree branch. He glared at her for a second then took a nap. She looked up at him and gave a low growl. She got up and continued to explore. She stopped at a building which she could see from across the street which many teenagers were exiting. As she watched them she saw one a guy with long red hair and green eyes being chased by a mob of girls. It was Kurama.
"Reminds me how guys use to stalk me at day camp." thought Zinnia. She giggled. Kurama started running towards her, he ran passed her and Zinnia was trampled by the following girls. Startled by the girls' screaming Hiei fell out of the tree falling on Zinnia.
"Ow..........." said both of them. Hiei quickly got up and looked around. "Kurama? Kurama, where are you?" said Hiei franticly looking around for his friend. Kurama came out from behind a tree sweating and panting.
"Those girls have gotten faster."said Kurama. Zinnia was laying on the ground stunned. Kurama looked down at her. "A friend of yours?"he asked.
"No, thats just the ningen I found sleeping in my tree earlier."answered Hiei. She woke up and slowly got on her feet. "Hey!!" called a voice. Zinnia turned her head to see who it was. It was Kazuma and Yuske was following behind. "Zinnia, what are you doing here?"asked Kazuma.
"You know this ningen?" asked Hiei.
"Yeah, she was assigned a case to destroy demons and Koenma wants us to help her." explained Kazuma.
"I was here earlier sleeping then this guy woke me up and said I was in his tree."said Zinnia pointing to Hiei.
"Well, you were."said Hiei.
"Hey......you're that girl from the boat with the incredible power." said Yuske.
"That power couldnt be her own! How could a ningen be so powerful?!"said Hiei.
"Yes, even I am suprised."said Kurama. They all stood there staring at her. She sighed and removed her red bandana from her head and sweater from around her waist. The four boys gasped at what they saw. On her head were wolf ears and behind her was a wolf tail. She opened her mouth and showed her fangs.
"You!! That was you howling last night!! You were the dark figure with the glowing red eyes!!"said Kazuma and he took a few steps back.
"That explains why you have so much power." said Yuske shivering a little.
"She's................a demon........"said Kurama.
"Yep." said Zinnia.
"Anyway, Zinnia this is Yuske, this is Kurama, and this is Hiei a.k.a. Shorty."said Kazuma. Hiei glared at him and Kazuma took a few steps back.
"It's very nice to meet you all." said Zinnia. Kurama and Yuske smiled but Hiei was still glaring at Kazuma. Yoko the hamster climbed out of her pocket and climbed up on her shoulder." This is.........my spirit beast. "
"Spirit beast? I thought you said that he was just your pet hamster." said Kazuma.
"I wanted to keep his true indenity a secret for a while." said Zinnia. Kurama smiled.
"It looks like you're not the only one with a spirit beast anymore, Yuske."said Kurama gently stroking Yoko's head. "I named my spirit beast Yoko, isn't he cute?"said Zinnia. This made a huge grin appear on Kurama's face.
"I also have a spirit beast. His name is Puu. He's at my house."explained Yuske. She smiled.
"Well anyway, we should start looking for the demons. There's a whole army of them."said Zinnia.
"How are we gonna find them?"asked Yuske scratching his head.
"Fortunately for me, being a wolf demon I have a sense of smell and it tells me that theres 2 demons and they're really close.
One smells like fire and the other smells like.......a badger......no.........a rabbit.......no........a fox!!" said Zinnia as her eyes began to glow red. Kurama chuckled.
"That's just me and Hiei."he explained. Her eyes turned back from red to hazel.
"Oh...".
