Yusuke rushes over to you and carefully picks you up. He turns to hiei and says angrily, 'If she broke in, she wouldn't have come back!' He took you into your room and the others soon followed. For hours, all they could do was wait, and you slowly get worse. Then, all together, you stop breathing, and your heart beat steadily slows. Just then, Botan appears(not a good sign, she IS the Grim Reaper) 'Botan! You're not gonna take her now, are you?' Yusuke shouts. 'Koenma sent me' she began to explain quickly. 'He said to give her this' She tosses Yusuke a syringe(needle) and he injects it into your arm. Immediately after, your heart stops. Only a minute goes by, then sudenly, you gasp in air and your heart starts pounding furiously. Eventually, your heart beat and breathing evens out. (you're unconscious during all of this) 'I have to go and tell Koenma.' Botan disappears on her oarwake up in your hotel room bed. You look down to see yourself beandaged up and your arm in a splint. You manage to stand up, but find Hiei in front of you. Without a word, he pushes you back on to the bed. 'What's you problem?' You ask angrily. 'First, we all know you went to the vault. Second, you come back really beat up. So, until we find out what happened, you're not going anywhere.' you cross your arms and lare at him. 'Well, I won't be the one to tell you.' For a long time you two just glare at eachother. After about an hour, Koenma, in his teenage form, walks in. 'Koenma, sir! What are you doing here?' you ask. 'After i found out what you did, you didn't think i would caome and handle it personally? Hiei, I have to talk to her alone.' He smirks and leaves the room, closing the door behind him. You sink back into your bed and ask, 'you're gonna yell at me now, aren't you?' 'Not quite yet. First, I'd like to say that i am both astonoshed and relieved that you're alive. And your though incredibly stupid, your success was amazing. Now, I'm going to yell at you: WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!? I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYONE DO SOMETHING SO STUPID!!! YOU WERE JUST TRYING TO KILL YOURSELF, WEREN'T YOU?!? YOU COULD HAVE DIED!!! I KNEW I COULDN'T TRUST YOU TO HANDLE THIS!!!' He stops shouting at you suddenly. He watches in amazement as silent tears roll down your cheeks. 'Amaya! Are you crying?!?never seen you cry before,' he says in wonder. He sits on your bed next to you and puts a comforting arm around you(not in a romantic way!!!!!) and you cry into his shoulder. Without realizing it, you tell him everything that happened from when you left the hotel to when you walked in. 'I see,' he says when you finish. ~An hour later~ Koenma opens the door to your room. 'You can come in now.' he said. They file into the room and you see you sleeping peacefully. 'I don't think she would fully agree with what I am about to tell you, but it was because of your lack of trust for her that she almost died, when her secrecy as meant to protect herself. So first of all, we have to secure this place. Lock all te dorrs and windows and keep a lookout for anyone who might be eavesdropping.' They all did as he bid. 'I'll explain bits at a time. First part: I present to you, Amaya; Chief of Security for Spirit World.' 'CHIEF OF SECURITY?!?' they all shout in unison, and your eyes flutter open. They all hold their breth as you sit up and look around in confusion. 'What's going on?' 'koenma just told us that you are Chief of Security for Spirit World.' Yusuke says. 'Koenma! Why are you compromising my secrecy???' 'We have to! Face it, you're going to be around these people alot now. And I need them to trust you! Now, i think you can better explain what you do then I can.' 'Fine! You've only told them about Chief of security, right? Okay then, Chief of Security had three jobs. The first is to go through all the papers of people Koenma considers for a job. We call them applicants. In fact, I recall all of your applications.' 'What are you talking about?' Kuwabara asks. 'You may not know it, but you were all applicants. I hand picked all of you to be Spirit Detectives. I saw potential in all of you if you could ever learn to work together properly. Second, I train people. That's not easy. I have to hide myself when I do it. The third, I regularly check that security is maintained and not breached. That's all a Chief of Security does.' 'But thats not all you do.' Koenma says. 'I don't think I could ever forget.' you reply. 'Forget what? Isn't Chief of Security enough of a responsibility?' 'Apparently not for her,' Koenma says. 'She's also the fabled guardian.' There was a shocked silence. No one in Spirit World knew who the guardian was and everyone thought it would be a powerful demon, yet it is a human girl. 'If you're the guardian, then that makes you one of the powerful beings in existence.' Hiei began. 'And?' you ask. 'So, what could have happened at the vault that got you beaten up so badly?' 'Yeah!' Kuwabara says suddenly. 'Why couldn't you handle a simple break in?' You laugh suddenly, surprising all of them. 'Let me start be saying that I knew what I was up against and you will all probably think I'm crazy for going there alone. May i also remind you that I did TRY to get help. But, there was around one hundred thousand demons there.' There was another shocked silence, but you ignore it and continue. 'I found out that somehow they found out that I was involved in the Dark Tournament. It was, they thought, the perfect opportunity. But, they took a precaution by increasing their numbers. They were going to raid the vault, completely wipe it out. Luckily, my source unknowingly warned me.' 'What's your source?' Yusuke asks. 'I won't even tell Koenma, what do you think are your odds of knowing?' You suddenly yawn sleepily. 'Are their any other questions? I'm getting tired.' 'Then why did Koenma say he couldn't trust you?' Hiei asked. You shake your head and say, 'you all misunderstood.' 'I trust Amaya with my life.' Koenma says. 'If you don't mind, I'm really tired and I need to rest. How long have I been in ed anyway?' 'Week and a half' Kurama answers. You suddenly gasp. 'How much of the tournament have I missed?!?' 'Finals are tomorrow, and there's no way you're fighting in them.' 'That's up for me to decide.' you say, falling back into the bed. I need to sleep. So...OUT!' They leave one by one and you slowly drift off. Soon, only Hiei is left. Just before you fall asleep, he whispers in your ear, 'I'm sorry'
