A/N- Hey, look! Chapter Eight!

Warning- Hiei will be semi fluffy toward Alana... after all, they're family!

Summary for Story- Kurama makes a decision that affects everyone's memories. He doesn't know Hiei (who goes to ningen school) and meets a transfer from Ireland. (I don't know why I like them meeting foreign girls but I do) They become friends and soon more but time after time they are pulled apart. Cliffhanger at end to be answered in part two. I know this isn't the best, but it gets better... lots of drama!

Summary for Chapter- Hiei's just come forward and told both Alana and Kurama he's Alana's brother! Alana and he will spend a day together, getting to know one another and Hiei will tell her more about their father.

"-You know, he loves you and me a lot, not to mention our other sister...my twin."

Alana's eyes widened at Hiei's statement. "You have a twin?" He nodded. "So, I have a sister and a brother... wow."

Hiei smirked and allowed his sister to embrace him. He even couldn't stop the joyful tears that had come to his eyes.

AWW!!! Hiei cries! *ducks away from Hiei fan girls who want Hiei to always be tough* I warned that this was an alternate universe!

Chapter Eight

The Ties That Bind

Alana's eyes widened. "Hiei?" She backed away, attempting to hide behind Kurama, she'd never liked Hiei.

Kurama's body tensed. "You! You're her brother?"

Hiei's eyes never moved from Alana's form. "Yes. I'm her brother...well... half brother. My mother was a demon and hers was human, but our father was the same."

Alana sighed and buried her face into Kurama's hair, whispering softly, "I don't want for him to be my brother!"

Hiei looked at the ground, a hurt look in his eyes. "I don't blame you for that. But regardless, I am your brother and I won't let this bastard touch you."

Alana's eyes blazed as she rounded on the boy who just admitted to being her brother. "YOU WON'T WILL YOU!? Well you have no choice! I am practically a grown woman and I shall see whom I want to see! And for your information, Kurama is the best boyfriend of the three I've had, he never pressured me for sex like the other two!"

Hiei's body tensed at the thought of his sister having sex, then at the two other guys it could've been with. "Kuwabara pressured you for sex?" Alana nodded. "I'll kill him," he said as a sort of afterthought. "Now, come on, I'm taking you back to my home where you belong."

Hiei attempted to grasp her wrist but Kurama got in the way. "No. She is going nowhere with you unless she so chooses."

Alana allowed him to wrap his arms possessively around her. "Thanks Kurama." She was now accustomed to using his other name.

Hiei glared at the demon trapped within a human. "And who're you to stop me?"

Kurama glared coldly. "I am the legendary fox demon, Youko Kurama."

He looked uncertain for a moment. "I heard you were dead."

"I'm obviously not, just merely preoccupied at the current time, at least until my human body dies..."

Alana looked at her boyfriend and brother. "Do you approve now that you know he's a demon as well?"

Hiei looked at her. "No. It is that reason that I disapprove. It's too dangerous Alana, with him... He'll betray you and kill you in the end."

Kurama struck out at the fire demon hanyou. "I would do no such thing! I love Alana!"

Hiei wiped some blood from his lip. "You love her? Everyone knows Youko Kurama was incapable of love, only lust. You'll use her like you used so many women before her, and I won't have her getting hurt!"

Alana slapped her brother. "You ignorant dumbass! I fell in love with him as Shuiichi! I didn't even know who he was at first, not until he and I slept together," Hiei glared at Kurama here but continued to listen to his sister rant and rave at him as he caressed the spot she struck him at. "Even then I couldn't be sure he was who I thought he was, and it doesn't matter! I know him and I love him and there's nothing you can do about it dammit!" She caught her breath and her face changed back from red to pale and creamy toned.

Hiei looked into their green eyes. Throughout this argument, Kurama's eyes had turned a bit more golden and less emerald, where as Alana's eyes had deepened their shade of green. "You two really do love one another," he observed. He knew that Youko was trapped and pissed about it, but thought that if nothing had happened yet, well, nothing too horribly bad, then it might work out. He hated the fact that she'd slept with him, but that could no longer be helped, all he could do was try to get her to like him and be a brother to her. "Fine. I won't get in the way, but I won't go away either. I want you to come with me today Alana, and let us get to know each other."

Alana's face softened. She looked at Kurama questioningly, he nodded, signaling he didn't mind if she broke their date for this. "All right Hiei. Let's get to know one another." She kissed Kurama tenderly. "I'll see you later tonight at home." He kissed her back.

"Goodbye, love." He said and watched them leave the park.

Hiei didn't say anything at first, not until he was sure they were out of earshot of the fox. "I don't think you should have to ask him for permission," he said, as a way to voice his dislike of Kurama without pissing Alana off too badly.

"I didn't ask his permission to leave, Hiei. I merely wanted his feelings on breaking our date. After all, since I do love him, his feelings are important to me and I don't want to hurt him. Just like he doesn't want to hurt me."

Hiei snorted. "He may not want to hurt you Alana, but he will."

Alana stopped walking, tears formed in her eyes and Hiei instantly hated himself. "I refuse to choose between my boyfriend and my brother, Hiei, and if you make me, you won't win."

Her words stung him. "Alana," he said softly, willing her demonic logic to override her human feelings. "He's conflicting inside. Eventually his demonic self will prevail and hurt you. You can be sure of it."

Tears finally broke through. "He would never hurt me!"

Hiei held her tightly, wishing her tears would stop. "It won't be his choice in the end."

Alana pushed him away. "You're cruel Hiei. You're no real brother if all you can prophesize for my future is pain! You should be happy that I've found someone and let it be!"

Hiei berated himself and decided it was time to change the subject to something happier. "I'm sorry, Alana. I do want you to be happy, like our father wanted you to be happy here."

Alana took a deep breath and allowed the subject change to happen. "Tell me about him," she said as they continued to walk again.

Hiei grinned. "Well, for starters, he's a fire demon who has a knack for falling in love with unobtainable women. My mother, was an ice demon, Koorime actually. An ice maiden sworn never to mate with a male, and certainly not a fire demon male." He smirked. "When I was born I was cast aside for being male and my mother was murdered on sight. It's a miracle I did not die as well. I don't know how an infant in the Makai could survive alone, but I did. Part of me thinks it had something to do with our father but he never told me. Eventually I remember being with these assassins who trained me to be a thief and taught me all sorts of things. I've gotten mixed up with some bad people, was basically a servant for a while, but that's not important. I found father about a year ago, or rather, he found me. He and I talked and he really cares. You know, he loves you and me a lot, not to mention our other sister...my twin."

Alana's eyes widened at Hiei's statement. "You have a twin?"

He nodded. "She got to stay on the Isle of Koorime because she was female.

"So, I have a sister and a brother... wow."

Hiei smirked and allowed his sister to embrace him. He even couldn't stop the joyful tears that had come to his eyes. "I'm so glad I've gotten you now."

Alana sighed deeply in her brother's embrace. "I'm happy that I truly do have a family. I'd like to meet them...all of them."

Pulling back, Hiei grabbed her hand. "And so it shall be. Come with me." He broke into a run that she could keep up with. She didn't know where they were going, but she knew they were going to see her father.

A/N- So... yeah. Hiei really is her brother and Yukina's around, and she's going to meet her father as well as Yukina next! She will learn how to use her demonic powers and she will try to return to the art school. I know it took a while to get up, but it's not as long as that one lag from before... Heh, almost a year's break. This time was only a few months, be thankful!
