The five remaining teens stood silent, each one trying to figure out what or where to go next. Hey, guts, how are we going to get back to the human world to switch to our new destination? I mean, weve got to follow this virus thing, dont we? Jin asked eyeing the grim faces of his companions. Chaos shrugged in response but Matoko began to frivolously rummage through her pockets. What are you looking for? Kuwabara asked, his eyes widening as Matoko pulled numerous odd ball objects out of her pockets. (A/N: Just like me today! I have in my pockets paper, pencils, erasers, two dollars, sunflower seeds, lip gloss, and a magnet! Hows that for random?) Matoko beamed and whipped out something. I was looking, she announced, happy at her findings. For this! She held up the Anime Hopper pass while still pondering her next move. Whats that thing good for? Chaos asked. Well Mr. Komoda did say that these things could help us get into ANY anime, so it should work to get us back to the human world in this series. Matoko replied while searching anxiously for any directions that might aid her.
Alright Miss Confusing how does it work? Jin asked while helping to support Mei, who was curled up in his arms with her head on his shoulder. Matoko shrugged and squinted in the dim light to see better. Suddenly, a pulse shot through the stillness and a purple portal began to form. Destination? a monotone voice asked. Matoko stepped closer, hesitant as Jin held Mei tighter even though she slept on and Chaos and Kuwabara stood, frozen. The Ni- Ningenkai please. Matoko managed to stammer.
Matoko placed her hand into the portal as it turned crimson and then pulled back the hand only to find it unscathed. Nodding, she signaled the others to follow and disappeared into the swirling crimson mist. They followed quickly and the portal shut behind them and darkness and stillness settled into the tower room once more as the fighters still lay there, waiting to be given life again.
Jin landed on top of the pile, still holding Mei. Ow! Chaos, get your head away from my butt! Matoko cried. Jin stepped off the pile allowing Kuwabara to get up while Chaos still shoved at Matokos butt trying to stand up. Its not my fault your ass is in my face! Chaos replied to save himself from a slap. Kuwabara paced a hand above his eyes to shield them from the light and gazed out at what had become of his town. People lay scattered across the streets and one the sidewalks, all in a sleep like state. Chaos helped Matoko up and looked around as well. Wow, this is too freaky. Chaos muttered. Kuwabaras face went pale and his eyes widened. Could this mean? he whispered. The red head broke into a run towards Genkais shrine and Matoko, Chaos, and Jin (carrying Mei!) followed in hot pursuit.
The sliding door flew open and Kuwabara bent over panting in the doorway. Genkai sat at the table, her head down on its surface. Botan was lying slumped in the corner with a book over her face. Keiko was curled up next to the table, tea spilled over and dripping off of the table the only evidence of a struggle. Finally, Kuwabara spotted Yukina. Kuwabara felt to his knees where Yukina lay, a somewhat pained expression on her face. Oh Yukina! Kuwabara cried bringing the small girl up into his arms. Matoko was the first to arrive. Oh Kuwabara Im so sorry she murmured. Kuwabara held her closer, her head laying to rest on his broad shoulder. And I had promised Id come back. Whats the use if she cant be here to greet me? The redhead whispered. Chaos watched from the doorway. Now you see the urgency of our mission. he said. Kuwabara wiped away the tear passing down his face and then nodded.
Chaos and Jin returned from the basement with supplies to the room where the four women had been placed in beds. Kuwabara knelt beside Yukinas bed side stroking back her bangs. Wow, he has such devotion to her. Matoko muttered. Mei, who had woken up, nodded from her spot in the corner. Kuwabara smiled the best he could and leaned father over Yukina, his huge frame casting a shadow over her face. Goodnight Yukina. he whispered before planting a small kiss on her lips. Are we ready to go? Jin asked. Kuwabara nodded. Just a second. The tall redhead removed his uniform jacket and lay it out across Yukina and then stood up. We can go to some of the stores in town to pick up more supplies. Kuwabara, you can go home and pack and me and Matoko with go pick up our stuff from Yusukes. Mei suggested, trying to stand up. Jin pushed her back down. No, Ill get your stuff. And besides, we should rest a little before leaving.
Mei clutched her ribs painfully and Chaos looked at her. He knelt down next to her with his back pack. Lift up your shirt. he commanded seriously. Matoko eyes widened and Mei glared back at him. No, really. Life up your shirt. Jin scurried over to Chaoss side. You pervert! Leave her alone! Go find another girl to touch! Jin cried, flames in his eyes. Chaos shoved Mei over into a lying down position, ignoring his friend. You bastard! Jin cried sending Chaos sprawling to the ground. Christ, man! Im not going to touch her! Im not a perv you know! There was a pause. At least not totally. Chaos sat up and opened his back pack to reveal a first aid kit. I was going to bandage her ribs. It will heal faster. She doesnt have to lift it up that high! Jin sweat dropped and watched as Chaos bandaged Meis wounds.
Everyone had gathered back at Genkais temple with all of there luggage. Chaos and Kuwabara had picked up everyones things and then went out for more supplies. Matoko had remained with Mei and Jin got a well deserved rest. Now, they were ready to move on.
Meis watched buzzed and she turned it on. Hey Mr. Komoda. she said. The CEO nodded. Listen up! Heres your next assignment. The virus has moved on to the anime of Inu- Yasha to possess a demon who was bent on world domination in the first place. Are you ready to go there? Matoko nodded. Very well Mr. Komoda muttered. A portal opened before them. Once you are in the next anime, I will send you more information. Jin picked up Mei and looked at her. Ready? he asked. Mei shut off her watch and nodded. Jin held her closer to him as he followed the others into the portal and into their next anime
