Author's POV

Tina was a regular girl in the United States. She was barely a teenager, and liked to read, play video games, watch TV, and draw. She liked playing football with her friends, and she loved movies and movie stars (like Orlando Bloom =^_^=). Like many of her friends, she also loved anime. She watched Teen Titans, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragonball Z, Dragonball GT, G Gundam, Rurouni Kenshin, and many other anime shows. She loved them so much, she had pictures of her favorite anime guys and called them Bishis, she drew anime, read manga, and even wrote fanfics about them. She never dissed any anime, and loved it sooo much she even dreamt about them, (especially the Bishis ^_^)

But she never counted on what was going to happen that day....

Tina, wearing a plain red shirt and a pair of blue jeans, walked outside her house and closed the door. Slowly, she walked across the street and down the old, cracked beige sidewalk. It was getting cold. She shivered, and pulled on a dark blue jeans jacket.

She walked past the other two-storied houses and stopped in front of an old gray house. She sighed, then walked up the steps. "Babysitting," she muttered. "Can't a real babysitter take care of them?" She dodged the spiderwebs covering the house, and rang the doorbell. Instantly a shuffle of feet was heard, and the door flew open. Looking down, Tina saw two little children, one with two teeth knocked out. ha...she thought, not real innocent at all.... just pure evil.

"Hello Tina, are you ready to baby-sit my Timmy and Lisa? My grandchildren?" an old voice crackled from the room.

It was Bertha. The old lady gained respect from everyone in the town, mainly for her healing ways as a doctor when she was young. However, others knew her as the person with magical powers. It was believed that she had magical powers that healed as well as cured children. Just like Mrs. Piggle Wiggle in the books, but much more real. Rumors went about her that she had a magical box that was a portal for other dimensions. Dimensions that were unbelievable. Magical dimensions. Ones that were even unthinkable to imagine. As remembering this, Tina gulped and managed a shaky smile.

"Um...yes..."

"Then come in." Bertha gestured inside the hallway. "Have a look around."

Tina came inside, aware, yet bewildered of the odd trinkets and unusual objects cluttering the rooms. In the dining room, there were several storage cabinets with a clear glass on it. She peered in, to see china, odd china, from all over the world. It looked so old-fashioned that it looked as if it were from pre-historic times. Around the corner into the living room was a couple sofas and rocking chairs, that also looked old. What time is this Bertha living in? The medieval times???? Following close behind her was Bertha and her two spoiled grandchildren, fighting and quarreling quietly, as if not to get into trouble. In the bathrooms, it looked pretty much the same...old. As she entered the bedrooms, there were several odd objects as well. Tina was about to turn around and ask something with Bertha, but something caught her attention. At the corner of her eye, she spotted a stairway, almost unnoticeable, for it was hidden in shadows. Something in her mind made her want to walk up the stairs.

"You cannot go up there," a stern voice said behind her.

Tina turned around. Bertha said that.

"Nobody is allowed to go up there. Please heed my warning." Bertha warned.

Tina felt a warm glow from the stairs, but tried to ignore it.

"So...when and where are you going and how long?" Tina asked politely.

"I am going to a senior's meeting right now and will be there for three hours." Bertha said quietly. "It is located at the city center. Do you know where that is?"

Tina stammered. "Um.. Yes...I think-"

"Good. I will see you later. Take care of my Timmy and Lisa." the old lady interrupted. With that she opened the door and closed it behind her.

Tina gulped. She was all alone with two kids that looked like they were up to something. Please do not do something bad...PLEASE!!! With that thought, she picked the two brats up, gave them a cookie, and sat them in the laundry room. Surprisingly, after what seemed like five minutes, Timmy fell asleep, and soon later Lisa too. Phew... Tina thought. At least they won't give me trouble for now...

Tina suddenly had a strange thought. Entranced, she walked slowly up to the stairway, curiously walking up it. Whatever is up there must be important, or Bertha wouldn't be strict with me not going up here. Tina, unaware of the consequences, opened the trapdoor that hung from the dusty old ceiling and tiptoed inside.

She gasped. Being twelve years old, actually turning thirteen, she believed in magic and other things that older people thought was nonsense. She saw unusual things that were unimaginable. Trinkets, tarot cards, glass fortune telling spheres, and many other things. In the corner stood a shelving unit with different kinds of bottles of shapes and sizes. Tina slowly walked over to the shelves and started to examine them. Strange markings covered the bottles. Different shapes and sizes, colors and writings. What are these??? Potions??? Or poisons? She looked at the strange liquids through the dusty glass. As she peered at them, she saw a box through them.

The box. Of different dimensions. The legendary box.

Tina, still shocked at the discovery, moved over to it, as if an invisible force pulled her to it. What's happening? she shouted in her mind. Part of her wanted to run away, but the other part wanted to open the box. Still struggling to run away, as she got closer, the box glowed even more brightly. Stopping in front if it, the box was almost up to her waist. The midnight black color made it look almost eerie, yet the few spots of light peering through the attic roof made it look like the sky at night, with the stars in the distance.

The invisible force moved her hand over the box, running over the lock. With a quick power she thought she never had, she broke the lock with a quick chop of her hand, just like in action movies. How did I do that? she wondered with fright. Slowly, her hands tugged at the lid of the box and to her surprise, it lifted easily, even though it felt like a ton.

The bright glowing light knocked her back, hitting her head against a cherry wood rocking chair. She struggled to get up, feeling a sharp pain at the back of her head. Nevertheless, Tina managed to crawl to the box and looked inside. She gasped. Inside it was like a galaxy. Pictures of different realms were swirling around in a mass of black darkness. She reached inside it, not even trying to withstand the force. Tina lost total control of herself. Her feet left the wooden attic floor, and headfirst, she was sucked into the dimensional galaxy. What have I done, she thought before losing consciousness.
