Chapter one:

Hiei opened his eyes lazily, awoken by the sound of something sizzling. He didn't think much of it and decided to doze for a few more minutes. But the most wonderful smell came drifting into his nostrils. *sniff [That fragrance, it could only be the smell of my greeneyed redhaired lover, Kurama's cooking that greasy stuff that come in strips. ba-c-on or something.] With a new found will and appetite, he dragged himself out of the bed. He glanced at the bedside clock. It seemed to chime out, "7:32, get your ass up!" He grabbed his clothes off the chair where he hastily threw them last night. Memories of the night before let him remember firey touches, passionate whisperings, and sweet agony. He flushed at a particular memory; one where Kurama was kissing him in strange places.... but enough about that, he had a protesting stomach here, he didn't need to get an erection now! What would Kurama think?! So he quickly pulled his clothing on and decended the stairs of the apartment he shares with his foxy lover. The smell of food was getting stronger as he neared the kitchen.

'Hmm, I wonder when Hiei'll get up? I hope it's not soon, I wanted to finish cooking breakfast before he came in.' He brought his attention back to the task at hand. The bacon sizzled in the grease, almost done. Kurama went to the refrigerator to get some eggs. When he opened the door, a strange odor overwhelmed his senses. 'Ack, what's that stench?! I guess it's been awile since I cleaned the fridge...oh well I'll do that later.' With that settled, he retrieved the carton of eggs and set them on the counter. As he cracked open the eggs, he started humming to himself. He mused about his relationship with a certain little fire demon. 'I guess it's been about 4 months we've been together. It was really rocky at first, as most relationships are, but in time, things got smoother.' Kurama was 19 years old as Shuuichi Minnamino, the ningen body he has. As Kurama of course, he was centuries old. 'Hiei was really shy when we started as a couple, he had a hard time expressing his affection. He still does, though not as much.' Kurama was brought out of his thoughts by sensing a familiar ki. He turned around and smiled at Hiei who was standing in the kitchen doorway. He put down the towel he was drying his hands with and walked over to his short demon lover. When he was in reach, Kurama wrapped Hiei in a loving embrace.

"Goodmorning firefly, did you sleep well?" He cooed at his sleepyeyed companion. Hiei, who snaked his arms around his fox's waist, slightly smiled up at Kurama. "Hn, who wouldn't when cuddled with you." This caused Kurama to chuckle as he brought Hiei closer to his lips. The mischeivious glint in those emerald eyes showed Hiei exactly what his koi wanted. "Hey Hiei, why don't we spend the day together, we could go for a walk, or go shopping, or whatever you want to do." Hiei gave his traditional 'hn' to this but the light in his bright red eyes told Kurama that he'd love to go. With those plans made, Kurama gently pulled away from his lover to finish breakfast.

"Hiei, would you be so kind as to set the table?" Kurama asked sweetly from his postion at the stove. Hiei hn'd at this as well, but Kurama heard the sound of drawers and cabinets being opened so he knew Hiei was doing as he asked. The food being done, Kurama served it onto the table. He poured a glass of orange juice for himself and one for Hiei. With that finished, he sat down across from his lover and started filling his plate. The kitchen was filled with quiet conversation, mostly one-sided, as Hiei wasn't very social. But Kurama didn't care. He went on about anything and everything, cause he knew his firefly was hanging onto every word he spoke. Hiei, having finished his meal, leaned back and stretched his arms over his little head. The gravity-defying jet black hair stood with spikes atop his head. The little white starburst above his forehead gave him a feline look of sorts. Hiei stopped in mid-yawn to notice his lover staring intensely at him.

"Oi, greeneyes, what's wrong?" Hiei looked at the emotions flashing in those emerald eyes. Kurama just gave him a gentle smile and stood up to clear the table of dishes and uneaten food. Hiei went over to help his fox with the dishes. He would dry the dishes and put them in their respective places while Kurama washed. Finished with the dishes, Kurama took his lover into his arms, and just when he was about to press his lips to Hiei's, the doorbelll rang. Kurama glanced at the front door, then back to his lover's face. He finally made up his mind and quickly kissed Hiei on the lips. He ran his fingers up Hiei's neck, finally getting lost in the mass of dark fur-like hair. Hiei gave a soft moan to this and slid his arms up his lover's chest and started to undo the buttons. The doorbell rang again causing Hiei to sigh against Kurama's mouth.

"Greeneyes, you'd better get that." Kurama noticed the disdain in his tone. But never the less, he better go see who rudely interrupted them. "I'll make it up to you firefly, now go watch TV or something." Hiei replyed with a loud HN! Then dissappeared up the stairs. 'Probably to take a cold shower or something. Not that I'm better off.....' Kurama looked down to see he too was sporting a large and rather painful erection. He slipped on his long jacket to cover it up and went to the door. When he opened it, he was greeted by a frantic looking Keiko holding a wailing baby.

"Keiko! Is something wrong?" Kurama asked, concerned.

"Oh Kurama, are you busy?" Keiko asked as she shifted the diaper bag up on her shoulder. "Can you do me a favor? I was supposed to babysit little Stewie here but I forgot I had an appointment with my professor today! I can't take Stewie with me so would you pretty please watch him for me?" Before he knew what he was doing, he found himself holding a still screaming child, a diaper bag, and some other baby stuff. His only thought was: 'Now WHAT do I tell Hiei?'

Author's notes: I'm sorry to leave off like that, but I wanted to end the chapter there. You'll get over it! And besides, you'll be getting a lemon in the next chapter or so. Read and Review please! Flames are always welcome. Peace out.
