The first chapter in the Bachiatari story. It seems not much has changed since the Dark Tournament, except that demons are attacking members of the Harushima family in Demon World has surfaced and is even showing signs in the Human World. The largest toll is a Harushima girl, who's powers are still coming into full-power and is hiding out in the Human World with Yusuke, Hiei, Kurama, and Kuwabara as her protectors.

“Come on Urameshi! Fight me!” yelled Kuwabara.
“Just let it go Kuwabara. I'm going home,” advised Okubo, Kuwabara's friend.
“Yeah, listen to your little buddy dimwit,”said Yusuke.
“What'd you say?! Oh it's on now!” yelled Kuwabara as he jumped in front of Yusuke. “I'm gonna beat up so bad they'll hear you in the demon world!”
“Excuse me, are you Yusuke Urameshi?” asked a quiet voice from in front of them.
Kuwabara turned around and they saw a girl who looked about 14 dressed all in black. In ankle-high heeled boots, torn black fabric used as a skirt with holy, fishnet pantyhose and a shirt torn on both sleeves with finger gloves and her black hair up neatly in a silver clip, allowing her bangs to hang loosely. She had a strange tattoo all over her body.
“Who wants to know?” asked Yusuke.
“There you are!” shouted Botan rounding the corner in the Sarayashiki Jr. High School Uniform. She grabbed the girl's hand.
“Botan?” asked Kuwabara and Yusuke,”What are you doing here?”
“Well I was looking for you two, but then I lost her!”
“Who is she?” asked Kuwabara.
“And why does she know my name?” asked Yusuke.
“Koenma sent me here.” the girl said.
“Koenma?” asked Kuwabara and Yusuke.
“I'll explain at your house Yusuke, the others are already there.”

“Hey guys, what's up?” asked Yusuke as they walked in to his apartment.
“I was thinking about asking you the same thing.” said Hiei.
Kurama was seated on the couch.
“Oh what a beautiful view!” said the girl as she rushed toward the balcony, Leaving the rest with perplexed faces.
“Who is that?” asked Kurama.
“If you'll all sit down, I'll show you.” said Botan. Everyone sat down, except for the girl who was still on the balcony, and Botan put a tape in and Koenma in his toddler form appeared on the screen.
“Hello all. I'm sure your wondering what is going on, so I will tell you about your next case. The girl, I'm sure you've already met, is Kurome. She is the daughter of Lord Harushima of the Demon World. At the moment there is an uprising between the demons and their family. My father and Lord Harushima are friends, so they arranged that for Kurome's safety, she be sent to the Human World. I don't want any of you coming to the Demon World until further notice. There is a chance that some demons will attack Kurome there, so I want you all to protect her. If you have any questions, send them through Botan.” and the tape ended.
“We're baby-sitters now?” asked Hiei sarcastically.
“Botan, I thought that the Harushima family had a lot of power. So why are they wanting us to defend Kurome?”
“Kurome is one of the last females of the family and she's..well...” she was broken off by laughter from the balcony.
They looked out and saw Kurome in the sunset, sitting on the ledge of the balcony with large white angel wings, with a bird on her finger. Smiling.
“Kurome get away from there!” shouted Botan as she grabbed Kurome and brought her inside.
“She's infantile.” said Hiei.
“Kurome you can't have your wings out in public! Humans aren't supposed to see them!”
“I'm sorry, Botan,” said Kurome looking down with a gloomy face.
“Oh it's alright..I should've told you..”
“Uh Botan?” asked Kuwabara.
“Yes?”
“Where will she be staying?”
“oh..well...um....let's see....Yusuke!”
“What?! ME!?”
“Yes! You're the spirit detective, so she's technically your case! Oh and your mother can help too! I'm sure you'll have lots of fun!
“Yes have fun,” said Hiei as he left via the balcony. Kurama, Botan, and Kuwabara left too.
“Good luck!” shouted Botan from the hall.
Kurome sat on the couch and Yusuke looked at her. Kurome smiled a childish smile.
“But...why me?”
