Blossom in the Wind
Chapter 2
There were only a few days left of classes and everyone on campus were trying to get ready to leave or party. Natashi sat on her bed trying to finish her sculpture design so she could start it when she got back from break. Out of the students in her class she was the only a few students who would design their own ice sculpture (A/N: What did you think it was? Clay?). She decided to use a rose in full bloom and two rose buds on either side of it inside a vase. Natashi paused and looked at the picture taped to her sketch pad.
She had to giggle she didn't actually think that she got the idea from the one person who was oblivious to her quiet hinting. Natashi sighed and looked at a jewelry box on her nightstand. Setting the pad down, she opened the box, and stared at one of the necklaces inside. With an angry sigh she picked it up and went to her opened window. Holding the skull and cross-bone necklace out the window as the moonlight made it sparkle. Without a second thought she let it drop from her hand down to the bushes below her. She closed her window and decided to call it a night.

Kurama was walking through the halls of the dance studios when he heard weird techno/classic music playing (A/N: Magic Dance by David Bowie. Love his voice). Looking into the studio door window he saw Natashi in a leotard and dark blue tights (A/N: the whole jazz dancer practice uniform, leotards are actually pretty comfortable; I've worn one). Quietly opening the door once he saw that Natashi was alone in the room and just stood by the dressing room watching her dance. The song finished and went on to the next one but Natashi stopped for a breather.
When the next song played Natashi began to do a dance that gave a visual to the song. After a moment he recognized the American song, Pale by Within Temptation, and Natashi was pulling off the visual very well. Her moves were slow but not too slow and accurate with the rhythm of the song. Natashi had her eyes closed during the song so she never saw him but he saw some of the scars on her body. They weren't dark enough to see in the sunlight but in the studio lighting you could see them.
Kurama was so entranced by her muscles rippling through her body he never noticed that Hiei stood beside him until Natashi's ipod music was stopped.
Natashi turned to him and yelled, “Damn it, Hiei! Stop messing with my music- …Kurama…”
Hiei didn't seem to like the gaze between the two other teens and so he threw Natashi's clothes at her. She easily caught them and threw him a dirty look before heading to the dressing room. She gently brushed by Kurama hoping he would get the hint but of course he didn't.

“Natashi…what are you doing?” Yusuke finally asked as he watched Natashi sitting on a mall bench as she looked up at the ceiling.
“Look at the people as they go by,” she answered not looking at her two guy friends as they looked at the people walking by.
Sure enough someone paused to look at her and looked at the ceiling then looked away looking somewhat embarrassed as they walked away. Yusuke and Kuwabara laughed as Kurama came up to them with a bag and did what the by passer did only moments ago then tried to hid his embarrassment.
“Wanna try something really fun?” Natashi asked as she stood up.
“Sure, what is it?” Kuwabara asked.
“Some of my friends are here with `Silly String',” she told them as she whispered as she opened her satchel in front of them after they formed a semi-circle around her. “We saw this on an American commercial online and we thought it would be fun to do. We're going up the escalator and when I give the signal we're going to spray each then take off. If you get caught you're on your own.”
“Sounds like fun!” Yusuke exclaimed and stuffed two cans of the `Silly String' into his pockets.
“I'm in!” Kuwabara answered and grabbed two as well.
“Well Kurama?” Natashi looked at him as she held up the satchel before putting her cans into her own baggy pants pockets. “There's two more…”
After a moment Kurama sighed in defeat and said, “Only if you hold my bag.”
“No prob!” she quickly stuffed the cans into his jacket pockets and carefully placed the bag inside her satchel. “Alright, my friends are in the food court,” as she went on with the plan she pointed to the clock, “It's one, if I timed it right we have about five minutes to get across the mall to the escalators. Of course we're going to take the up escalator.” She began to move across the mall as the three men followed her, “One of my friends are going to record this so act as normal as possible. Oh, we're going to escape through the food court exit.”
As they got closer to the escalator they saw a medium group of teens heading for the down escalator. When they looked behind them they saw some more teens join them. At the same moment both groups of teens stepped onto the escalator all of them were ready to pull out their cans. Natashi pulled out her ipod but instead of putting the headphone on she reached over the railing and placed it into on of the teen ipod player. When the player suddenly played the chicken dance everyone took out their `Silly String' and sprayed it each and as they went up or down the string hit everyone on the escalator.
Once Natashi hit the top she made a made dash for the exit but suddenly ran in a different direction. Kurama, the smart one but slightly confused at this action, ran for the exit on the opposite side of the food court. The others followed him and scattered once outside throughout the parking lot. Natashi sent a text Kurama's phone telling him to get out of mall area or get rid of the cans and wait for her. After they disposed of the cans Kurama got another text from her this one said to come to a local karaoke bar.
When they arrived the man at the counter gave him a key and said their friends were waiting in the room. Upon entering the room they found Natashi trying to sing and two of her girlfriends sat on the couches laughing at her drunken song. Kurama noticed the beer cans on the table and knew Natashi had one too many.
Natashi saw them and said, “Hey guuys! Since none of us got caught…(hiccup)…I decided to get karaoke room.”
Yusuke and Kuwabara had no problem with this since there was beer and sake. Kurama was the only one to notice Natashi stumble over the microphone wire and he quickly caught her.
“I think that's enough drinks for you,” he told her as he helped her to her feet.
Without warning Kurama found himself kissed on the lips by Natashi. She pulled away and began to laugh before tempting to grab her beer can on the table only to faint in Kurama's arms.
“Oooh…my head,” Natashi moaned as she held her head while curled herself in the fatal position. “How did I get here?”
“Not surprising you had at least five cans of beer,” Kurama suddenly answered and scared the shit out of Natashi.
“What the hell are you doing in my dorm room?” she yelled only to grab hold of her head in pain.
“What was I suppose to do? You tried to take a shower in the toilet.”
“…Oops…Let me guess then I tried to jump into the window.”
“No, actually you tried to jump out your mirror,” Kurama chuckled at the image of Natashi trying to jump into the mirror.
“Ha, ha. Now can you press play on my ipod player,” she requested as she pointed to her ipod. “It should already be set.”
Kurama pushed the play button and heard the famous comedian singer `Weird Al' Yankovic, `Everything You Know Is Wrong' start singing. “I'm going to go back to my room now.”
“Uhh, you won't get to hear `Jurassic Park'.”
* * *
“So are you renting a car?” Kurama asked as he came out of the dorm to the front of the school with his bags.
“No!” Natashi exclaimed as she smiled. “I have my baby to get us there.”
“Your baby?” Hiei asked, not understanding the term.
(In Japan they drive on the opposite side of the road and the steering wheel is on left side of the car, this does not include Natashi's car)
Just then a dark navy blue with a slight green tint Mustang drove up and the driver stepped out as he tossed her the keys, “There you are! She's already for the trip.”
“Thanks, Hiroshi,” as she caught the keys and sat on the hood of the car. “This is my baby.”
“It's quite impressive,” Kurama commented.
“Yes she is. I should know I built her myself from an old mustang when I was in America. You don't know what I went through to get her here. Alright put your bags in the trunk and put the stuff you'll use in your seat.”
The trip down wasn't so bad aside from the music Natashi played from her ipod. When they came to her home both of the men noticed there was another car parked in the driveway. None of them notice someone step out of the house and come up behind Natashi. She screamed as the man picked her up in a huge bear hug. The two teens turned to see Natashi and the blond haired men fall to the grassy ground.
“You know I hate it when you do that!” Natashi exclaimed as she wrestled with the man.
“Oh! But you love it when I do it!” the man answered as they began to roll over each other.
“Uh…Natashi,” Kurama said loud enough to stop them.
“Oh! Kurama, Hiei, this is my annoying brother, Aden,” she told them as the two of them remained in that position under her brother holding his hand to fend off his tickling as she introduced her brother.
“Hello,” Aden waved before the two of them began to wrestle again.
“Hey! Mama Natashi's back!” yelled a child from across the quiet street.
Almost out of nowhere children came running out of homes, bushes, parks, and est. just to jump on top of the Natashi and her brother.
“So now you're a mama and a bully,” Kurama teased as they sat in Natashi's living having tea.
“Nah, I'm just a bully when the kids aren't looking,” she answered seriously but after a minute she began to giggle.
“It's nice to see you again Shuichi,” Aden said as he came in with a tray of snack. “How's your mother doing?”
“She's doing wonderful,” he answered. “In fact…”
Natashi zoned out as her brother and Kurama got to know each other again. She didn't that Hiei was getting closer to her until he was practically in her lap. She had to whisper to him, “What are you doing?”
“Hn,” was her only as he snuggled into her lap.
Natashi didn't like the fact that Hiei kept trying to have a deeper relationship with her when she had her eyes on someone else. So standing up quickly she said, “I should put on my outfits. It'll take a little while to do,” with that she turned and went up to her room.
Once they heard her door close Kurama asked as Hiei sat on the couch angrily, “Aden, where did she get that scar on the side of her face from.”
Aden picked up his tea cup and answered, “I don't know, she came back from America with it. She never told me how she got it and when I asked all she said was she'll never go back to America again that was when she gave up her singing career.”
“Wonder what made her give up on her dream.”
“Well, that wasn't her dream now that she's back she's working on her culinary degree. She transferred to your school just for that reason.”
“Really? She told us that she transferred because she got into too many fights and was too smart.”
Aden chuckled, “No, that college thought that she needed to be in a university rather than with them. But she didn't want to go to an expensive one so she chose your university.”
“How's your father?”
“He's good and six feet under,” as Aden sipped his tea.
“Excuse me?” Kurama looked at him startled.
As if realizing what he said he explained, “Well, you know the murder a few years ago?”
“Yeah.”
“That was our father and they have yet to find the killer.”
“Okay, what do you think?” they suddenly heard Natashi.
(A/N: Rock Band time! For all those who play Rock Band you guys can look up the outfit that she's wearing right now it's mainly Goth.) She wore a black leather angelic corset with white strips running down the middle of the top. Her skirt was black and pleated with handcuffs hanging of the black belts. Her black laced up boots stopped just below her knees and wore black leather gloves that stopped in the middle of her upper arm. She had black lip liner on her lips and red lipstick and had painted black mask over her eyes.
“I would've dyed my hair and put it up in ponytails but my hairs too short.”
Neither Hiei nor Kurama could say a word as they stared at her slim body and costume. Aden brought out an album and opened to the back pages. “Here's some more of her costumes.”
They looked through the album of the pictures of Natashi in concert or posing. Aden informed them that Natashi had sent videos of her in concert and if they wanted to borrow them they could. It was long after Natashi got out of her costume did Kurama informed her he had to go to his mothers'. Since Hiei had nowhere to go for the break Aden, being the kind host, asked if he would like to stay with them. The two leaving didn't get to hear his answer because they left just after Aden asked.
Kurama and Natashi got into her car once again. Once they were on the road Kurama asked as he looked at the photo album and DVD's in his lap, “Why did you stop singing?”
Natashi kept watching the road and said, “I stopped enjoying it but unlike the other singers I had nothing to lose and wasn't on a contract so I could quit.”
“Natashi…something happened to you… What happened?” Kurama was determined to know what happened to her.
“I don't want to talk about it Kurama,” the bitterness in her voice indicated that if he didn't stop his pursuit he was going to walk.
“I noticed that Hiei tried to curl up in your lap.”
“I think he has a crush on me,” relieved that he dropped the other subject. “Unfortunately I don't feel the same for him I have my eye on someone else.”
“Anyone I know?”
“I'm not sure if I should tell you he may not be ready to know that I like him,” she teased.
“I would like to meet him soon just to make sure he's the right person for you.”
Natashi tried her best not to flinch at his statement and chuckled to help cover it up until… “CRAP!”
Kurama looked up and realized they were on the wrong side of the road (in Japan they drive on the opposite side of the road and the steering wheel is on left side of the car, this does not include Natashi's car) and before they knew it everything went black.
