Red candles littered the entire room, the flames releasing their calming scent. Comforters were heaped upon a bed and about six pillows were placed at the head. The covers shifted and a head of silver surfaced, the silver sliding to reveal an angelic face. However, the image was tarnished by a flush staining his cheeks, the man's breaths coming out slow and shaky. Golden eyes appeared behind partially closed lids as the door slowly opened.

He didn't bother to sit up and waited until the person was near his bed to smile. “I hope you're not here to pity me.” “Hn. Do I look like the type?” The other asked. Golden eyes sparkled with amusement. “No, but it would be nice if you gave me some sympathy Hiei.” Kurama said wistfully. Hiei snorted, but he did smile.

He placed a hand on Kurama's forehead and almost frowned at the warmth. “What have you been doing?” Hiei asked. Yoko smiled. “Sleeping.” Hiei's gaze grew more heated. “I was merely checking on a few of my plants yesterday. A new one released pollen. I suppose in my dampened state it could have made some of it bloom. Although,” he chuckled, “I doubt I could be allergic.”

Hiei's stare said it all. Kurama blinked when the koorime brushed his hair away from his heated forehead. “Hiei…?” Kurama half-mumbled. He jumped when a freezing wet cloth was placed on his forehead. He was surprised that his body didn't go into shock from the temperature change. As if reading his mind, Hiei smirked and said, “You'll live.”

Kurama found his mind wandering as Hiei checked up on him from time to time. He had honestly expected to recuperate on his own. Especially after the face Kuronue had made after he jokingly suggested he take care of him. So seeing Hiei here, taking care of him and making sure he didn't keep the covers too close to his neck, which would make him sweat, was a pleasant surprise.

During one of these check-ins, he fell asleep and Hiei paused at the door. After giving Kurama tea and medicine for the past three hours, he looked better. Taking care of the thief had wasted his entire training day. Then again, if he hadn't, he might have to take care of him longer. His fox was so hopeless without him.

He had been making his way over to Yoko's bed when his thought made him pause. Was the other really his? They had exchanged kisses, some heated, some not. Still…'If he belongs to me, do I belong to him?' He thought.

No. That was an easy question to answer. He owned the fox, not the other way around. Hiei smirked while looking at the fox's sleeping face. With a soft rustle, the swordsman slipped into bed with Kurama, his shirt lying on the floor. Hiei almost chuckled at how the other's arms automatically moved to wrap around his waist.

Hiei's eyes had begun to close when a rumbled resounded throughout the base. Soft pitter patting followed and he listened intently to the rain. Ruby eyes glanced at the thief who had been covered in mud the previous day. From his place inside the rain had a calming effect on Hiei. A bitter smile formed on his face. That was amusing, considering how much he hated the rain.

`I used to like the rain'

Why had he said that? Kurama wasn't going to leave him alone after saying something like that. Hn. He shouldn't have gotten so emotional in the first place. Hiei pushed away all thoughts of the rain, including listening to it, and focused back on Kurama. A sleepy murmur of contentment reached his ears and he felt Kurama tug him closer. Whether he meant to or not, Hiei feel asleep a few moments later.

~Flashback~

“Yay, it's raining!” A girl's voice cried. Puddles were quickly forming on the ground and she stomped on every new one she saw, giggling as she soaked her clothes. A few animals were braving the rain with her, but only because it wasn't intense, painful rain. It was just the light kind of rain that didn't hurt hooves or fur. The girl, oblivious continued to play in the rain.

Meanwhile, someone was keeping a close eye on her. Honestly, if she giggled any louder, the other side of Makai might hear her. It was as if she was asking to be killed. `She should be grateful that I'm even watching her.' He thought. She might have been if she knew he was keeping an eye on her. But it was better this way.

Although he had to wonder what possessed him to continually keep watch over her. At first he had been slightly curious as to why an ice apparition was out here and not home, but now he wasn't sure. He glanced back at the girl-Yukina- to see snowflakes falling down. That was going to attract demons: snow in the middle of a rainstorm? What was she thinking?

Yukina laughed and played around with the snow for a while. “Isn't this fun? I love snow.” The animals didn't seem to like it as much as she did however. His eyes narrowed as he sensed some demons headed this way. He would wait and see what they wanted before he decided to kill them, or not.

Yukina seemed to finally sense them too and let the snow turn back into rain, her animal friends leaving.

She watched with wary eyes, as three demons approached, none of them very appealing to the eye. “Well, well. What's a cute girl like you doing out in the rain by yourself?” The first asked. “You must be very lonely by yourself. Maybe we should keep you company.” The second said.

Yukina took a step back. “No, I'm fine. Really.” The third wrapped an arm around her and grinned. “Nonsense. We'd love to keep you company.” Yukina grimaced when the demon moved his face closer to hers. “Please leave me alone.” Yukina said, struggling. “Stop struggling!” He yelled.

His hand moved to slap her, but within a flash the only thing left was a stump. The demon stared at his arm for a moment before screaming as blood poured out. Yukina quickly moved away and the other two looked at her. “The hell did you do, you crazy bitch?!” They yelled. “N-Nothing…” Yukina said.

She screamed as one of them was quickly cut down the middle. The other two fell just as quickly. Yukina didn't know when she fell to her knees, only that she felt very small and afraid. No wonder her kind remained above the clouds: this place, these people...were truly frightening.

Maybe her quest wasn't as important as she thought, especially if she lost her life in the process. Her vision wavered when she looked up and saw something shiny before she passed out.

She wasn't sure when she awoke, but she vaguely realized that she was out of the rain. Slowly and cautiously she looked around, fully relived to still be in her clothes. “That was a stupid thing to do.” She turned her head at the voice, marine eyes wide. “Who are you?”

Her question went unanswered and she watched as he stood up. “You'll be safe here until the rain stops.” It was then she realized that there was a fire going. She looked down at her hands for a moment before returning his gaze. “Why did you save me? Do you…want me as well?”

The man moved to leave. “Next time don't make snow during a rainstorm.” He said coldly. Yukina gasped softly. He had been watching her?! She got to her feet even though he had already left and stepped outside. He was nowhere to be found. She frowned before going back inside the cave, feeling slightly distressed and some paranoia.

~End Flashback~

“Yuki-!” Hiei blurted, suddenly awake. He was sweating and his arm was outstretched, as if reaching for her. He sat up fully and lowered his arm, forcing his breathing to even out. Why did he have that dream now of all times? He didn't want to remember that day.

Those eyes…Hiei put a hand to his face, his left eye visible between two fingers. Both eyes closed momentarily and he sighed. Those eyes… they were so full of fear, terror striking the darkest pit of soul. And he had put it there.

Hiei removed his hand and opened his eyes, glancing over at Kurama. The other still hadn't moved from his position hours pervious. Hiei reached out and brushed Kurama's hair away from his face. Looking out the window, he saw that it wasn't raining anymore. Maybe that was why he woke up.

The swordsman twitched as arms wrapped around his waist and a slightly warmer body pressed up against him. A kiss was placed on his neck but he didn't respond to it. “Are you all right?' Fingers tickled his bare stomach. “I should be asking you that.” Hiei said. “I feel better, my fever has gone down some. However, I'm more concerned about you Hiei.” Yoko murmured. His hands moved to Hiei's chest and another kiss was given. “Your heart is beating faster than usual Hiei.” “I'm fine.” Hiei replied, moving Kurama's back to his waist.

“Who's Yuki?” Kurama knew he had touched a sensitive subject when Hiei tensed ever so slightly in his arms. “You heard me?” “You were moving quite a bit in your sleep.” Kurama answered. “N one.” Yoko frowned at Hiei's blatant lie.

Soon enough Hiei was pinned beneath him; he may be sick, but he wasn't weak. “If it was no one, you wouldn't have called their name in your sleep. You even said `don't look' in your sleep…was he your lover?” “Don't presume to talk about things you do not fully understand thief.' Hiei snarled, red eyes flashing. “I wouldn't have to if you would tell me.” Kurama replied.

“It's none of your business.” “I'm not jealous if that's what you're worried about.” “Hn. Why the hell would I care?” Kurama's expression turned thoughtful. “Hm, maybe because you're insanely possessive of me?” Hiei didn't say anything, but there was a flush on his face.

After a few moments Hiei rolled over onto his side, none too surprised that he was able to do so or that Kurama snuggled up behind him. The minutes stretched out as Kurama waited patiently for Hiei to begin.

“It was a foolish thing to do, on both our parts.” He felt Kurama's tail brush against his leg. “Those eyes were so full of fear, but also judging me. Accusing me of every thing I've done and would do.”

Hiei's hand clenched as a darker, more painful memory surfaced. It took him a few moments to will the images away. “She probably thought I was going to kill her.” “She/” Kurama asked, ears flickering in slight confusion. Hadn't Hiei said Yuki in his sleep? Hiei chuckled. “I never said it was a man.” “Then why did you get so defensive?' Kurama asked, still confused.

The koorime was silent before saying, softly, “She's important to me.” `And it brings back bad memories.' Yoko turned Hiei around and kissed him, a hand going into the other's hair. “How long ago was that?” Kurama murmured. “Three years.” “I'm sure she understands by now. And if not,” Yoko smiled,

“I know first-hand how persuasive you are.” Hiei smirked before receiving another kiss. “You're sick and you're going to make me sick as well.” Hiei said. “Move away from me then.” Yoko Kurama said with a smile.

-WOO-HOO LEMON!!!-

Hiei kissed his fox harshly, tongue already prodding against sealed rose-petal lips. This was somewhat out of character for him, but that memory wouldn't leave. It was still lingering, tickling the outermost part of his sense and mind. He could feel the heat from Kurama's fever flowing inside him, warming him despite his fire demon heritage.

As they broke their kiss to breathe, darkened eyes stared down at the fox below him (he vaguely remembered straddling Kurama). Hiei raked his hands down Kurama's chest, ripping his clothes and scratching his skin in some places. Red lines began to bloom and Kurama hissed softly at the pain.

Hiei's expression turned mocking before he dipped his head down to trace at the light scratches with his tongue, following one at lave over one of the thief's nipple. Kurama groaned softly before arching his back as Hiei sucked roughly. His hands moved to grab at the swordsman's ass, squeezing. He got a moan from Hiei and the rest of his clothes ripped off in response.

Hiei soon switched to the other and Kurama moaned this time. “Why the hell…are your pants still on?!” Kurama growled irritated that he wasn't getting the friction he wanted. “They're staying on.” Hiei replied. How his voice sounded so calm when Kurama could blatantly feel an erection rubbing against his was beyond him at the moment.

“Stop complaining.” Hiei said. To which Kurama had a retort already forming in his mind…if he hadn't seen where Hiei's mouth was going. He was suddenly having second thoughts about this.

“Hiei are you sure about this? I certainly don't mind, but this is rather sudden-“ “Shut up. I'm not doing this for you.” Kurama didn't have long to ponder on that since Hiei went down on him.

His tongue already began flickering against his slit, pressing and probing with each swipe. This in turn led to Kurama making some interesting noises, some the usual moan or groan, and other curses or incomplete sentences. Hiei bobbed his head while he sucked, noticing that the memory went away the more he focused on what he was doing, And if Kurama's face and noises were anything to go by, he was doing an excellent job.

He looked up at Kurama and smirked, the fox's salty essence flooding his mouth a few moments later. Hiei swallowed without thinking and pulled back.

-End Lemon (okay really a citrus but whatever)-

Kurama appeared to have fallen asleep after all that and a quick check proved his fever was gone. Heh, he must have sweated it out.

Which now left him with a throbbing erection. Hiei muttered something under his breath and got off Kurama. Covering him back up with the blanket. He then walked into the bathroom, locking it once inside.

Meanwhile the door that had been opened a slight fraction closed again. There were a few drops of blood on the floor and the sound of footsteps retreating.

--

“I told you to move away from me.” Kurama said. Hiei didn't reply and looked at the sky instead. “Still,” the fox purred, wrapping his arms around Hiei and bringing his face close, “that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy myself.” In fact, he wouldn't mind doing it again…right now. “Idiot.” Hiei retorted. Then he sneezed.

Ko: ^^ Can anyone guess who was peeping? The next chapter should be up whenever I get around to writing it! XD

Next chapter: Yoko, Hiei, and Kuronue go shopping! Of course you can't take Kuro anywhere, what with him flirting with every person he sees. Oh, but what's this? Someone else has a romantic interest in Hiei? Oooh, Yoko's not going to be happy about that…

Plus someone from I'll Die appears in the next chapter! Try to find them.

So review please! Reviews make me work faster. That or fanart.
