Mukuro5: Okay so here is chapter four. The name doesn't really go with the chapter I just thought it was cute name. * smiles seconds before getting hit in the back of the head*

Bunnydemon: Sorry but I let you get away with the name not the gloting.

Mukuro5: Whatever. This is my friend and she helped with the chapter. She also kidnapped Kurama.

Bunnydemon: HEY! I feed him.

Mukuro5: Sure. So I don't own Yu Yu Hakusho. I do own Cherry but not the soul of Karasu.

Bunnydemon: She only wishes she did.

Chapter 4: A Snack On The Go

Cherry stopped for a moment so she could allow herself to calm down. After a second she climbed onto the window seal below her room. She jumped and grabbed onto her room's window seal barely. She then climbed through her window. Just as she closed her window she heard the front door close.

“Cherry, we're back,” called her mother.

Cherry sighed. She walked to her door and opened it slowly. She walked to the stairs to find her mother and a man with short, slicked back black hair standing at the bottom of the stairs.

“Hello, honey. Sorry I left but your father surprised me with a reservation at a restaurant,” Mother explained.

“Good evening, sweet heart,” said the new man.

“Good evening, Charles,” Cherry said, trying to be sweet.

“Are you hungry?” Mother asked.

“No, I already ate.”

“Okay, sweetie.”

Cherry turned around and walked back to her room. She shut the door and leaned back on it. “I hate that man!”

Charles walked into the kitchen and sat down in a chair at the small table. His wife came in and kissed him on the cheek.

“That girl hates me, Susan,” Charles stated, placing his elbow on the table and resting his cheek in his palm.

“It's just your imagination, Charles. You're her father. Of course she loves you,” Susan said, sitting on Charles's lap.

“She never calls me father. She never has. She avoids me every chance she gets. It's as if she as to force herself to smile at me. When she is around you she just seems actually happy.”

“I still think it is all in your head, dear. So how long are you staying?”

“I leave tomorrow night.”

“So soon?”

“I'm sorry but I have to be there when we give the big presentation.”

Cherry lied down on her bed. She stared at the ceiling in the complete darkness. She enjoyed the silence that the deepest darkness could give. She then turned her attention to the stars shining outside her window.

“At least he doesn't stay long. That vile man should be gone by tomorrow or at the latest the day after tomorrow. I would have killed him long ago if only it wouldn't make Mother sad. What a lucky reprieve that man has.”

Cherry slowly closed her eyes. It was only nine o' clock but she knew if she didn't go to sleep now she would be tired for school tomorrow.

“At least my little play date is tomorrow,” was her last thought before the calming, almost haunting, darkness of sleep took her over.

“Okay, Mother! I'm leaving for school now!” Cherry called as she shut the front door behind her.

Cherry ran down the driveway to meet up with Cookie and Yuri who was waiting for her. They continued to walk towards school with laughter.

“So what's up? I heard your dad was back. Any thing planned?” Cookie asked now completely serious which was unusually for the normally playful girl.

“No. Even if he did it wouldn't matter,” Cherry answered.

“I guess. I know you don't like him.”

“What?” Yuri asked surprised at this new development.

Cookie: “Yeah. You didn't know? She hates her father. Always has.”

Yuri: “Why?”

Cherry: “It's because of my mother.”

Yuri: “Your mother?”

Cookie: “That's what she always says. Cherry thinks that her father isn't good enough for her mom.”

Yuri: “You are weird. That's not a good reason.”

Cookie quickly put her right hand over Yuri's mouth. She put her left index finger up to her own mouth. “She is very sensitive about that.”

Cherry continued to stare straight ahead. “No one knows how much that man has made Mother cry. How he has broken her spirit. Death would be too good for him,” was Cherry's thought.

Cookie: “Hey, Cherry. Did you finish your oral report? You're the first one to do it in class today.”

Cherry: “Snap! I completely forgot. I am so dead!”

Yuri: “That's what you get for spending your entire weekend with your boyfriend.”

Cookie: “It's okay, Cherry. I figured you forgot. I owe you one for saving me during English class so I did your report for you.”

Cookie took out a packet of paper that was clipped together. She handed it over to Cherry with a smile. Cherry's expression immediately lit up with delight. She eagerly took the packet from Cookie.

“Oh my gosh, Cookie! Thank you! I owe you big,” Cherry squealed.

“Nah. I just said I owed you for saving my butt in English class,” Cookie answered.

“That's nothing though. I was born and raised in California, which is in the U.S. so all I did for 12 years of my life was speak English.”

“Yeah, but I didn't so that counts as a huge favor.”

“We better hurry up, guys. We're going to be late,” Yuri stated as she started to run.

Cookie and Cherry followed after her. They continued to run until they got to the school gates. When they hit the gates each of them split up.

“Meet up at the café. I'll treat you two to a bowl of ice cream!” Cherry call back to her friends.

The bell rang and out came a heard of students. Cherry took off in a sprint towards the main square where the café is located. She dodged some of her classmates in her pursuit for the destination.

“I have an hour before I have to go to the park. I should be able to make it,” Cherry said as she stopped in front of the café doors.

“Over here, Cherry!” yelled Cookie from where she sat over in the far right corner of the building as soon as Cherry walked in. Cookie even did an enthusiastic wave to show where she was. Not that it was really needed.

Cherry walked over to Cookie as fast as she could so that Cookie would stop being so embarrassing. This is when she noticed that Melody and Yuri were there as well. Melody had black ribbons in her hair that matched her black flowing dress.

“Hey, Melody,” Cherry said, sitting down next to Cookie and across from Yuri and Melody, “ You weren't at school today.”

“I had a doctor's appointment,” Melody answered in a calm, soothing tone, “It has come to my attention that you have detected your soul mate, Cherry.”

“You are way to formal, Melody. It's called a boyfriend. And what do you mean by `detected'? You are way to weird,” Cookie stated as she searched through the menu even though she always got the same thing.

“Yeah. Sorry, guys, but I have to be somewhere at five,” Cherry announced, picking up a menu as well.

As the four of them were about to order they heard two kids scream. They turned to see a young boy with brown hair and a young girl with black hair running around. An older woman was trying to settle them down but was failing. The women's long, flowing brown hair fell in her faced as she grabbed the boy's left wrist as he came running by her. This made the girl immediately stop in her tracks. The two children sat down and were quiet after that.

As five o' clock ticked closer Cherry parted ways with her friends and headed for the park that was about a block from the café. She was able to get to the park about five minutes before the arranged time. This allowed her to sit on the white bench in front of the sandbox and watch a few kids run around.

A girl with long orange hair kicked a red and blue ball. The ball by passed the boy with short brown hair that it was meant for. The ball continued to roll over towards Cherry. The orange haired girl immediately ran after the ball as fast as she could. Cherry picked it up as it came to a rest at her feet. She held it in between her hands until the girl stopped in front of her.

“Here you go,” Cherry said, handing over the ball to the little girl.

“Thank you, madam,” said the young girl as politely as she could.

“Call me Cherry. I'm not old enough to be a madam.”

The girl gave a nod before running back to her friends. Cherry continued to watch the children play with the ball until she felt a familiar presence close by.
