Part I: Jade / Exposition

Normally, Hiei did not give presents. If he did - which was, as might be gathered, a very rare occasion indeed -, then said gifts were deep and meaningful and held oh so dear by Kurama.

Like, for instance, the little jade figurine that now had a place of honour on Kurama's desk. A little fox sitting on the lap of a woman. It was Hiei's way of saying “I will not pressure you. I will wait until you can return to the Demon World”.

It was a pretty little thing, a nice gesture, and a welcome message all in one.

Part II: Chocolate / Rising Action

Hiei's gifts always held meaning but for the life of him Kurama could not figure out the meaning of this one. Still, Hiei seemed to think there was one, for he was sitting on Kurama's window sill and watched him with expectant eyes.

Kurama looked at the present again: It was an eight-inch chocolate Santa, clad in red and silver and gold aluminium foil. His brows creased. What am I -?

“Idiot fox. You're supposed to eat it.”

Well, then. Deftly, he began to unwrap the Santa until it was revealed in all its chocolately glory.

Kurama stared.

“…oh.”

“Hn.”

Part III: Unwrapped / Climax

Hiei's presents were always deep and they were always held so dear and near by Kurama, who now sat gasping on his chair, desk behind him and Hiei in front of and slightly below him. Hiei, who had given him chocolate, who had watched while he ate it - more like licked it -, who had smirked and stopped him right in the middle.

Hiei, who now showed him what his performance had looked like, though in this case there was no decrease in matter but an increase and he worked on consuming all of it.

Hiei's presents were always deep.
