Chapter Sixteen: Karasu's Furry

 

It has been seven months since the twins were born and everyone is wondering when Karasu hasn't attacked yet. Kit has been going to school and Darren and Luna had stressed that they were the only ones able to pick Kit up and until further notice couldn't go on field trips outside of the city.

On a Friday afternoon Luna was in the twin's room feeding them when Kit and Darren got home. Darren looked around and was slightly grateful he had enough money he didn't have to work to support his family. Kit ran upstairs to the twin's room to see his little brother and sister; Luna smiled at him since he acted like nothing was wrong. Kit looked at Luna saying, “Mom why do we have to be so careful with Crystal and Koharu I mean they have never even been outside unless going to see grandma and grandpa.” Luna closed her eyes thinking then said, “It's to keep them safe.” Kit sighed and walked out of the room to his then laid down on his bed to do his homework.

Luna looked at Darren, who was in the doorway listening to the whole thing and asked, “Why don't we let them go and play outside tomorrow I'll keep an eye on them.” Darren sighed but nodded his head saying. “That's a good idea it would be good for Koharu and Crystal to be outside for a while.” Luna smiled at put Koharu in bed then Crystal since they had fallen asleep while everyone was talking. Darren walked up to the crib and kissed both of them on the head before he and Luna left the room, leaving the door open slightly so they could hear if anything should happen.

A couple hours later the two woke up and Luna walked into the room to check on Koharu and Crystal. She realized they were hungry and started feeding them when Darren walked into the room. He took Crystal from Luna and burped her while Luna burped Koharu. They then changed their diapers and put them back to bed since then fell asleep, being up for a few hours before that. Luna yawned and Darren picked her up then carried her to their room. He sat her on the bed then went to check up on Kit, who was in his room again. He saw Kit sprawled on his bed asleep and Darren walked up and put Kit under the covers. Darren kissed Kit on the forehead before going back to his room and laying down beside Luna, who was already asleep and covered them up before falling asleep himself.

The next day Darren walked into Kit's room while Luna dressed Crystal and Koharu, who were already awake. Darren walked up to Kit and shook his shoulder to wake him up. Kit opened his eyes and rubbed his left eye while looking at Darren. “Come on get dressed were going outside,” said Darren. Kit woke up all the way and looked at Darren saying, “You mean that?” Darren nodded saying, “Yep now come on and get dressed.” Kit bolted out of bed while Darren walked out and put a pair of jeans and a red shirt on. He then ran down stairs, putting his shoes on at the same time. Luna laughed at him then they walked outside and into a clearing in the forest.

Darren spread a blanket out and Luna sat Koharu and Crystal on it with a few of their toys. Kit ran to the edge of the clearing, still in plain sight and started practicing his powers on a few plants. Darren laughed and Luna shook her head before standing up to help Kit when he started having a few problems. Darren watched the twins play with their toys and Koharu attacking Crystal, biting left ear. Crystal started crying and Darren picked her up then looked at her ear. Koharu crawled over and kissed his sister on the cheek showing he was sorry. Luna looked over and Darren said, “Its alright the two were just playing and Koharu bit Crystal on the ear, she'll be fine though.” Luna nodded and while this was going on they didn't notice a pair of red eyes staring at them, a murderous glint shining in them.

While Darren was cleaning Crystal's ear Koharu crawled off and Karasu saw this. He ran out of his hiding place and towards Koharu but before he could grab Koharu he was suddenly knocked away from him. Karasu hit his head on a tree and shook his head, seeing Luna in front of Koharu growling. Karasu smirked and went to attack Luna when she clawed him a crossed the stomach leaving a deep gash and blood poured out of it. Karasu held his injury before running off so Luna couldn't attack him again.

Koharu started crying loudly when Luna shook the blood off of her hands. She picked Koharu up and held him close trying to calm him down. She kissed his ear and walked back to Darren, who she met almost halfway back to the clearing. Darren was about to ask what happened when Luna gave him a loot that clearly said, `Later not now' so he backed off. They walked back to the house, Luna rubbing Koharu's back and when the got there Koharu had cried himself to sleep. Luna sat down in the living room, Koharu still in her arms. Darren sat down next to her and Kit laid down on the floor. Darren looked at Luna asking, “What happened?” Luna took a deep breath then said, “Karasu tried to attack Koharu when he wondered off.” Darren growled slightly and said, “We might want to take them somewhere they can be safer.”

Luna thought for a while then said, “The best place for Crystal, Koharu, and Kit would be Ukina and Kuwabara's house.” Darren nodded his head saying, “Yes that would be the last place Karasu would look.” “I'm staying,” said Kit. Luna and Darren looked at Kit, Who was now standing up looking at them both. “I won't leave you to get hurt,” said Kit. Luna sighed before saying, “I guess if you trained more you could stay.” Kit smiled and Darren went to call Ukina to see if Koharu and Crystal could stay there at her house for a while.

SK: Well that's if for chapter sixteen. Sorry it took so long I've been kinda busy again but don't worry the wait for the next one wont be as long also only two more chapters and the story is over.
