Teshi: I am so sorry that I have not updated this story sooner, but some things have been going on. Jeff/Aubrey had terminal cancer. When I found out I just couldn't bring myself to write anymore on this story because I based a character off him and I used him in my disclaimers. But now he has moved on to the next plane of being and I now feel obliged to finish this story. For him. There for this story is now dedicated to him. Jeffery David Hagerty. A sixteen year old taken from his friends and family way before his time. Jeff, this story is for you. You where the only one with enough guts to tell me when I was being annoying, and yet you accepted me for who I was. Through you I have learned how precious friends are and how valuable life is. Thank you. We all will miss you.

Chapter Four

 

As Kat made her way down the busy sidewalk she looked around at all of the shops she passed. She stopped at a shop and looked at the window display that they had. `They sure do have interesting clothing choices here…and their billboards. You would think that they would at least show a little shame and modesty…' she thought to herself (Hehe… for those of you that do not know about the billboards in Tokyo they are…well, unashamed of the human body. ^___^ Back to that story!), not really paying any attention to where she was going. `I sure hope Delicia is going to be…'

 

“Wha…”

 

“Ouch!”

 

“Oops, sorry…”

 

Was all that could be heard as Kat and another girl collided, spilling the other girls' groceries. As Kat looked around from her seat on the ground she saw the girl she collided with. She was an inch or two taller than she was and had deep brown eyes. Her hair was cut into a mousy type bob and she wore a brown pleated skirt that fell to her knees and a white blouse. (Hiya! From Dani)(*sighs* she stole my laptop from me while at Rick's Coffeehouse… : P Brat!) She seemed to be a little irritated and in a hurry.

 

(Keiko's POV)

 

“Ouch!” she yelled as she fell down onto the sidewalk. `Agh! Why cant people watch where they are going?!'

 

Keiko looked up ay her assailant and took in her appearance. She was about 5'8” tall and was thin. Not the anorexic thin, but the highly toned muscle thin. She had waist length raven black hair that was not curly, but wavy. She had fair skin and her gray-blue eyes where set in stubborn features, which had the Italian nose structure. She was exotically beautiful. Her outfit consisted of a black leather corset trimmed in pink lace, black leather pants and black leather boots with a small heel. Over top of the outfit she had on a leather jacket that was a bit too big for her. She looked like a walking add for a leather company, but somehow it just suited her. As Keiko stood up the girl straightened and gave her a friendly smile.

 

“I am so sorry about that. I should have been watching where I was going,” the girl said in highly accented Japanese.

 

“That's ok.” Keiko replied with a smile of her own. At that Keiko bent over and started to pick up the groceries that had fell onto the sidewalk and was surprised to see the girl help her collect the errant items. When all of the groceries where back into their bags Keiko picked up both bags again and balanced them on her hips. “Thank you very much. I greatly appreciated your help.”

 

“It was the least I could do. Are you going far?” she asked.

 

“Oh, about just to the edge of town.” Keiko said silently cursing the distance.

 

“Well then, I must help you carry your groceries.” She said as she took one of the bags from Keiko.

 

“Oh, no it's…” Keiko sighed in defeat and gave her a smile. “I am Keiko.”

 

“And I am Vitz Katalin, but please call me Kat.” Kat replied.

 

(Regular POV)

 

The two girls talked constantly as they walked to Keiko's house. Their topic of conversation ranged from music to food to different countries to even martial arts. Kat was quickly beginning to think of Keiko as a close friend. Soon they where walking up the driveway of a nice house styled after the traditional Japanese homes of old. As soon as they stepped through the doorway they where accosted by a girl with aquamarine hair and the sounds of fighting in the background.

 

“Keiko-chan! Hiei-san is fighting his friend and I do not understand why.” Said the girl in a terrified, yet confused, voice.

 

“Stay here.” Both Kat and Keiko said as they dropped their bags and rushed towards the sounds of the fight that was taking place in the kitchen. When they reached their destination they stopped dead. Aubrey was extremely exhausted and had multiple small wounds. Hiei had a small cut on his cheek and a puncture wound in his shoulder. Yuusuke was supporting a mangled left arm and had a black eye. Kurama had a rip in his shirt and had a cut in his right arm that went from his shoulder to his elbow. Kuwabara was completely knocked out and lying against the far wall. Although the five guys where hurt, it was the room they where fighting in that looked the worse for the fight. The walls had multiple holes and the table and chairs where basically non-existent.

 

Kat was the first of the two girls to regain her senses and act. She immediately jumped in at Aubrey's side and drew her two 9mm Browning hi - power's (hand guns…got `em from the Anita Blake novels. Very good books, I highly suggest them.), pointing one at Hiei and one at Kurama.

 

“Aubrey, Aubrey, Aubrey. This is something I would expect of Delicia, not you.” Kat said with a small smile as she gauged the other three guy's fighting condition.

 

Aubrey somewhat straightened up and glared at Kat. “I had no intention of fighting.”

 

Yuusuke looked from Aubrey to Kat and then to Keiko. “What is going on….”

 

“She helped me carry my groceries home…WHY ARE YOU FIGHTING IN MY FUCKING KITCHEN?!” Keiko yelled at Yuusuke red with anger.

 

“Baka ningen onna, get out.” Hiei growled at Keiko, as he suddenly seemed to disappear and then reappear next to Kat.

 

It took Kat a fraction of a second to notice Hiei had moved, but that was all the time Hiei needed to disarm Kat and kick her into the wall opposite them. Not even a second after Kat hit the ground then Aubrey threw one of his daggers in her direction, which landed point down in the floor before her. That was when all Hell broke loose. Kat immediately jumped to her feet with the dagger in her hands and attacked Hiei as Aubrey went for Kurama and Yuusuke. With the arrival of Kat the odds changed the fight into a somewhat more even battle. As Kat was about to throw her dagger into Hiei's throat a bright white light appeared all around the room and the light blinded everyone.

 

“This simply will not do.” Said a mysterious voice, that sounded like the fall of a waterfall and the baying of wolves all at once.

 

Everything became dark.
