Chapter 7: ... I'm...
After a few days in Hakai Village, you guys were on the road once again to the next village on your list, Matsuki Village.
A normal observer would ask, if you already know where the Makai gates are, why don’t you guys just go there ahead and destroy it? They really would ask.
The answer? How long do you think you would need, to plan the execution of your mission, pinpoint exact locations without being detected, gather as much information on the target as possible, put enough energy and training in you physically and mentally, take that 4 hour drive to the next VILLAGE, and just say, "Lets go there right now and kick the sorry demons' ass with our ass tired feet". Thus, answering the question.
Now, to where you guys were. You were all in the jeep with the same positions as you did before. The place Kuwabara was driving through was a woody sort of area. The road was a long strip of dirt cutting across the forest in curvy and bumpy lines. Sometimes, the jeep would jerk suddenly to a side, throwing a passenger (Yusuke) or a driver (Kuwabara) off and/out of the vehicle.
After the long ride though the foresty area, you got to a clearer area. Of which was only 3 miles away from the next village. You guys stopped for a short break.
Yusuke rested under a tree, Kuwabara next to him. Kurama took a position where he could easily see surroundings; you took a seat in a tree branch.
The atmosphere here was calm and quiet. You looked down from your perch at the spot Kurama was keeping watch at the same time he looked up at your branch. You smiled at each other and he jumped to the branch on the other side of the tree trunk where you sat.
"Hey" he grinned. "Hey" you replied.
The two of you would've had a light conversation then, but all of a sudden-
"Class S?" you said quietly, only Kurama could hear it. He looked at you in surprise and had a grim expression.
"Damn it" Yusuke jumped to a standing position. Kuwabara stood as well, sword ready.
You and Kurama jumped from your high perches, you with your daggers ready, him with a rose whip in hand.
"So, you guys finally noticed me" a strong burst of reiki emitted from the sky and fell, to land if front of you. Your eyes widened, it was your first meeting with a Class S full blooded demon.
He had long black hair and brown eyes. On his face and arms were significant markings of his high grade demonic blood. And what's worst? He looks hot! And you have to kill him, well... Kurama still is hotter ^_^ Hiei too ^_^.
The level of ki he released was only to its average, 60% - 70%. (Oh god I sound like Toguro).
"I'm not here to fight all of you. I'm only interested in the famous Demon Slayer" he said as a matter-of-factly. You raised your eyebrows at 'famous'.
'Wow, I'm popular. Oh joy, doesn’t this just make our trip easier?'
"I'm sorry pal, but my friend here isn’t interested in you" Yusuke said back. The demon only ignored slightly this comment since he didn’t look at Yusuke, but he did hear him. He kept his focus on you and you tightened the grip on your daggers.
"I prefer one on one battles, even if I could take all of you down under a minute" he smirked. You normalized your breathing and steadied your gaze on him. 'All I need to take it down' you thought with an inside smirk. Although you normally fought more than 3 at the same time, one on one was your specialty.
"I don’t think your friends would be bored just watching us either" the demon added. Instantly, A grade demons appeared at his side, roughly 12 you counted quickly.
You took a peek at the guys for an answer. Yusuke looked back with the expression, Can you do it?, written all over him. It was exactly the same with Kuwabara.

You: ...? Where were you?
Hiei: I felt a strong reiki coming from here
You: ... and you decided to watch first
Hiei: Just do ahead and fight.</i>
You took one last questioning glance and directed it to Kurama. He looked concerned and gave the look, If you don’t make it..., you looked determinedly back. With another look, he agreed with a small grin, which you gladly returned.
All that took about 7 seconds altogether. The S class was getting bored and gave another burst of ki to show he wouldn’t take no for an answer.
You walked over to him and he smirked. You began to circle each other wordlessly.
A battle cry from the A classes behind him and the YYH gang ran over to that side. Apparently, those class A's wanted to avenge their fallen fellow demons that had fallen into your hands. How you knew? Well... one of them DID mention something about it while they were waiting to be called on by their leader. Your hearing caught it.
Anyway back to your current fight. This is where battle fighting is written down, be forewarned... again. (Look at ps. note above for reference)
"I'm Kagai. Just so you know the name of your killer." the demon, Kagai, said as he stopped circling. You did as well. You both faced each other, muscles tensed. "No introduction? If you're so confident in defeating me, why don’t you tell me your name?"
A pang of guilt hit your head slightly. You still haven’t even told the guys your name. You shrugged off the feeling to focus on the fight. You had some difficulty... it <i>was</i> probing your mind for quite a while now. Either way, you pushed away the feeling and tried to concentrate on the battle before you.
"What I don’t understand is why so many demons fell in the hands of a ningen without even a hint of reiki." he added quietly. Once again, you did not answer. Your reason was you still didn’t want to reveal your gender... and... Even if you did talk...
...you wouldn’t know how to answer him.
With incredible speed, Kagai charged with a ready aimed fist of reiki. Using both daggers in your hand, you blocked the fist but was pushed a few meters back by the force.
Kagai then began to bullet you with fast jabs that made automatic guns look useless. You only dodged and blocked, silently searching for a weakness. The S class seemed oblivious to this and continued to attack. Pushing you back at least a foot with each blocked fist.
You jumped overhead and threw a normal dagger at his left arm. He blasted the knife with his reiki from his right arm and jumped after you. With a hidden grin, you anticipated his next movements.
Kick, duck, block, right, up, left, duck... his movements were swift and smooth but rather wasteful to you. He had potential to be a better fighter but didn’t train enough.
He seemed furious with your evasive actions. Your only forms of attacking were small, obviously not aimed to kill. The majority of your movements were dodges and blocks.
He kicked to aim for your chest immediately after 12 consecutive patterned punches. Catching you slightly off guard and pushing you meters away, don’t you just hate patterns? They ask about that a lot in SCHOOL THAT SHOULD NEVER EXIST. Dust gathered in the air where your feet dragged to slow down. He watched your form quickly regain balance with squinted eyes.
"You're not taking me seriously Demon Slayer." he stated. You only looked back emotionlessly, infuriating him even more. He let out the rest of his reiki. "I'll make you regret underestimating me"
With his reiki, he generated 3 spirit swords to his side. All concentrated with so much intense energy that you could almost smell the air burning. He took two by the hand and looked at you with a psychotic smirk that showed fangs.
Your eyes widened at the concentration. You resheathed your daggers and pulled out two different ones. They were longer, about the length from your fingertip to 2 inches away from your elbow. You held them in a ready position.
Kagai charged at you with 2 of the spirit swords. You did as well and met in the middle, both pairs of blades crossing. He pushed against your blades, as did you. In a few seconds, you both jumped back.
Without warning, he charged again and hit you in an accurate wild attack. You only had time to block with both blades for a while.
He seemed to slow down as some point; you took advantage of this and swiped your blade at his stomach. He barely managed to dodge it by jumping backward; a deep cut had been made where your blade touched.
You winced. He was hard to kill right away. You hoped he would just go quietly or be killed instantly, but he was an S class demon.
He took the 3rd spirit sword and merged all of them into one huge sword. He faced you again and attacked mercilessly.
Not that you need mercy actually, you were holding your own just fine. He swiped from the side, greatly aimed at your side. You took both blades and used the hilt to stop the impact. The two of you just stood there, pushing against each other's body weight with your weapons.
You glanced at his position. His left arm was right in front of you.
With a grin, you flipped backward and kicked his left arm backward in the process. There was the sound of a gunshot and he howled.
In the air, you changed position and launched yourself at him. This time, your aim was true. A pierce through his heart and another through his throat.
Kagai fell. You won.
That's the end of the fight on your end. Its a nice fight actually, ever wondered why EVIL SCHOOL didn’t allow fights? We can take care of ourselves. And its not like we're out to kill or anything...
You turned to see how the guys were doing and sweatdropped. They finished off the demons a long time ago and was watching what they could catch of your fight in the background.

"You can really fight!" Kuwabara snapped out of his phase and said it impressed.
"Whoa. That S class demon didn’t have a chance!" Yusuke added.
Hiei looked away wordlessly. He didn’t need words and you could read his actions as well as the guys could read yours.
Kurama smiled, you smiled back. Suddenly, the pang of guilt you had felt earlier came back.
You trusted these guys; you knew, for a while already, that fact. You trusted them with your life. For the past week you've known them, they've proved to you they were trustworthy. 'Now...' you told yourself.
Slowly, you walked to them. The guilt getting heavier with each step. The guys looked at you questioningly as they watched your form coming closer in an unusual speed.
As if in the middle of confession... and hesitation.
"Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei, Kurama." You said. For the first time, you've spoken verbally to Yusuke and Kuwabara. They could hear your voice clearly, exposing your femininity openly.
Once again, both of their mouths hung open. "Slayer..." Yusuke began, not at all expecting this.
You smiled at them all, your heart racing. This is it. You haven’t done this in like... what, 7-8 years?
"Yeah. I'm a... she" you said, trying to 'up' the mode a bit.

"Listen, I know this is a bit sudden... actually... I wouldn’t know. But anyway... I'm still not sure about this." you hesitated. Inwardly, you cursed yourself at your secrecy. "Just say what you want to already" Hiei said in a low voice. Though he didn’t have a shock of the moment about your gender, he couldn’t read your mind. You put a barrier when you started fighting and kept that barrier up. It was getting annoying... this not knowing.
You bit your lip behind the mask and took a deep breath. "I have no reason to hide it from you now. I never did actually. But formal introductions should've been made a long time ago."
The guys all looked at you in surprise this time. This single piece of information was kept by you and you alone in the whole world.
"__(your name)__" you said, quietly but loud enough for them to hear.
Something snapped inside you.
You didn’t know what it was.
That scared you.
