Understanding
The fox demoness walked quietly into Hiei's room. She found the fire apparation out on
his bed with the pills and some water on the bed table. Chuckling to herself, Kito looked over
Hiei. For his size he sure is stubborn like an elephant. Knowing that the medicine will knock
him out for a while she tucked him under the sheets of his bed. With that she discreetly
left his room. As she walked back to the entertainment room, filled with gamesystems for
the boys and a tv, everyone except Rei, Kurama, and obviously Genkai didn't see or hear her
walk in. Rei seemed worried and Kurama looked curious to know what was goin on. Kito smiled
back at him.
"No nothing bad is happening, Kurama. Stop looking at me like that please," Well unless you count
Hiei. He just smiled back thinking that he couldn't get anymore informationg out of her. Rei began worrying
about Hiei. He hasn't come out at all. I hope he is alright. Maybe I should check on him. She thought.
"I think I'm going to check on Hiei." While she was getting up the female doctor was about
to refuse Rei into seeing him.
"It's alright, Rei. He is fine. It's not like he stays around us anyway." The three looked to hear
Genkai. The girl slowly sat back down. Kito looked a little relieved mentally thanking Genkai. Kurama
noticed her expressions and grew more curious.

"Sir, what should we do? We can attack them with ease now that Hiei is ill." a husky voice asked harshly.
"Patience is a virtue, we must wait for the right time." Another voice seemed to fill the shadows of an unknown
area. "Once they know that there isn't any trouble we will make our move, even if it takes me a lifetime
to fulfill, I will have that girl!" The voice echoed into the night as the gang, along with Rei and Kito,
slept through the night with what seemed to be no worries in their thoughts.

Sun broke through the drapes in the fire demon's room as he took his time to open his eyelids. He
turned his head and saw Kito sitting next to his bed. He opened his mouth but nothing could come
out of it. She looked at him with kind eyes. His face was extremely pale and he didn't have much energy
emitting from his body.
"I'm in here to check on you of course. Supposedly Mukuro sent me here to watch you for
however long it takes for you to get better. You better take another pill because you slept for a day yesterday."
He wanted to talk back but all that was heard was a muffle though she understood it perfectly. "I know it was
pretty heavy dosage, but that happens to every person who takes it. The important thing is that you take it every
day. Trust me you won't flop out like you did the first time." He closed his eyes while she made him swallow the
pill down with water. There, you should be good for the day, hopefully. Hiei fell asleep instantly but not by the
medicine but by his body being so tired. Kito giggled slightly and left his room.

Black. Darkness. Shadows surrounded him. Why can' I see a darn thing! Suddenly a bright light
filled a small area of the dark. His face turned with confusion and curiosity. Strange enough a figure
began walking out of the light and was outlined also in white.He couldn't make out who it was for it started
to shine brightly where he couldn't see. As the light began to fade just a little the figure held its hand out.
He tried to grab it, but the hand seemed to far to reach. So he stretched out further. And further. And further.
And.........

Hiei awoke startled at his, well let's say WEIRD dream. Sweat droplets ran down his face as
his breath seemed short. He laid back on the pillow. What kind of a dream was that? It doesn't seem right
at all. It's probably the stupid medicine. Hiei glanced over at the clock beside him. 12:13 pm. Man, my head
hurts. Surprisingly he fell asleep again hoping to find the answer to his dream.

It seemed to be what you call a normal day. Luckily for Rei, she didn't have to go to school. So she was alone
besides Hiei, Yukina, Kito, and Genkai, while the other boys went off to school. Hm...something is going on here and
people aren't telling me. Dang it I wish something would happen. She glanced at the clock. 1:25pm.
The others should be out soon...like about 1 1/2 hours. Kito happened to come in while she was lying
on the floor.
"Well, you seem entertained." Rei looked at her with bored eyes. The fox demon sat
next to her and smiled. "Bored?"
"You have no idea."
"So why don't you go somewhere? I mean they don't confine you to the house, do they?"
"No, but it's not just that." She sat up and stared at Kito worriedly. "I can feel that there's
something going on here and people aren't telling me anything. I'm left out of the loop and I know
that something's wrong." She looked at Rei seriously now. "I want some answers. First, is there anything
happening that I don't know about? Please tell me truthfully. Is there?" Kito continued to look into
her eyes. After a pause she finally answered.
"There isn't anything happening." Rei looked at her with questioning eyes. Suddenly out of nowhere
Kito gave her a big smile. "Because I'm taking you shopping now so nothing is gonna happen except for
some new clothes for you!" Rei was totally surprised at her sudden remark.
"But I have no money!"
"Don't worry! Muk-I mean my boss gave me cards and cash! And you don't need to pay me
back or anything. Come on let's get going!" She tugged at her wrist, but she stopped her for
a second.
"You're going in a human mall like that?" Kito looked at herself. Her nails were as long as
her teeth, her ears were proudly sticking out of her head, a tail swishing back and forth, and her
clothes looked like what Yoko would wear. But she smiled again.
"I can fix that!" When she said it she immediately transformed into her human form. Her hair was
still purple now at shoulder length, eyes still gray, but her tail, ears, and claws were gone, and her clothes
looked...normal. Rei stared in awe. "OK, time to go!" And with that they were gone in a flash.

The time now was about 5:21 pm. Everybody except Hiei were lounging around.
All of them wondering where the two girls went.
"Should we trust this fox demon anyway? I mean she won't even tell us who
she works for. She could be a spy." said Yusuke. Kuwabara then spoke up.
"NO WAY URAMESHI! SHE'S TOO HOT FOR THAT!" he earned a hit to the head from Yusuke and they
began to argue, as usual.
"He might have a point." said Kurama. "We should be careful and watch her." Genkai just sipped her
tea as a large slam was heard.
"What the heck was that!" yelled the spirit detective. They all gathered to see what made the noise to see
a bunch of bags and Kito walking in the door.
"Oh hi guys! Sorry I forgot to write a note that we went to the mall!'' They all noticed that Rei
was the victim under the bags.
"So did you buy me anything?" Kuwabara stupidly asked. She smiled at him innocently.
"Sorry, but I didn't have enough money. Maybe next time I'll take you."
"But you had enough for like TWENTY BAGS!!!" Yusuke yelled. Kito smirked at him and helped
Rei with the bags to her room. The others(not counting Genkai) were a bit shocked at the sudden
arrival and remarks. Kito was practically shoving Rei down the hall and into her friend's room.
Then they dumped their shopping on the bed.
"Man, that was a lot!" Kito exclaimed.
"Are you sure you won't get, well broke from anything we bought?" asked Rei.
Kito thought back to their day.

Rei: But it looks expensive!

to sort all the clothes, shoes, and other stuff they bought that day.

Everyone was joined at the table for dinner, except Hiei again. Rei was thinking about it
a lot while two of the people were gulfing down the food(Guess who?). Yukina made a lovely
dinner filled with tempura, rice, eggrolls, and a bunch of other good stuff. While everyone seemed
to be engaged in conversation Rei kept thinking to herself. He hasn't shown up to dinner for several
nights now. And I barely see him anymore. What's wrong with him? Kurama noticed how quiet she
was. After dinner was cleared and mostly everybody was lounging around the thief went in the direction
of Hiei's room. He was about to knock on his door when he felt someone behind him.
"What are you doing, fox?" Then he knew there was only one person who ever called
him fox. Kurama turned around to see Hiei standing behind him, arms behind his back.
"I think I should be asking you that question, Hiei." The fire demon looked at him.
"What do you mean?"
"You know what I mean. You're never around at dinner, you're always locking yourself in
your room, and you seem more pale. What's wrong? If you tell me I'll understand." His eyes never left Hiei's.
They stared at each other for a while. Finally Hiei spoke.
"Nothing is wrong." Kurama knew it was time to retreat for now and come back later.
"Everyone is just worried about you Hiei." And he left to go back to the others. Hiei just stood there
watching his friend walk away.
Like you could understand how I feel.
Miko: Whoa.....finally this stinking chappie is done!!!! this one too a
