Kurama followed Hiei through he halls of Spirit world office. Yusuke and Kuwabara had captured a demon that was caught crossing the portals. They had brought him here for interrogation.

Hiei didn't say a word of the incident that had happen. Kurama try to bring up the subject, but Botan show up to say that there was another meeting.

He didn't wan to leave this like this. It was best to get their feeling out in the open now than let what happen last time again.

Kurama sighed and continued following the fire demon. For now it was best to focus on the mission at task.

Hiei open the doors to Koenma's office he waited for Kurama to enter. Yusuke and Kuwabara had already arrived.

"Now that we are all here."Said Koenma.

"From what Botan told us you captured someone."Said Kurama.

"Yeah, at least this demon didn't commit suicide,"Yusuke said.

"What do you mean?"Asked Hiei.

"Well we saw a demon cross the portal without using any Ki. So we follow him and we trap him. Right when we were going interrogated the demon starts having a seizure, soon blood comes out of his mouth then he falls a big slash from his stomach to his head appears and he melt away since his blood was acid."Kuwabara explain.

Kurama looks at Hiei and Hiei nodded understanding.

"Did you interrogate the demon already?"Asked Kurama.

"Yeah, apparently someone found Sakyo's old plans at hanging neck's Island."Koenma said.

"But no one knows whose the main operator. The demon said he made business through some sort of shadow who gave them this."Yusuke said as he tossed Hiei a red round stone.

Hiei inspected it and toss it to Kurama.

"I've heard of these, it cloak and can changed the appearance of your Ki, but they are just part of a system."Kurama said as he tossed the rock back to Hiei.

"What have you found?"Asked Koenma.

"Except for having my guards slaughter and I think my mind is being read and my suspicious someone a spy inside the mansion. I say nothing much."Hiei said.

"Well at least we are finding something."Kuwabara said.

"Kuwabara shut up in the ningenkai it is much easier to spot a demon than in the Makai were the whole place is full of demons."Koenma said before Hiei got angry and release his dragon.

"We'll need to find more info, continued with what you are doing I'll cal, you all later."Said Koenma as he dismissed them all.

Hiei rushed out of spirit world trying to avoid Kurama. He really didn't want to talk about it he didn't want to. He thought he wanted to, but not anymore.

"Hiei"Kurama called as he caught up to Hiei as they travel out of spirit world and back to the Makai.

"Hn"Hiei reply as he continued walking towards the direction of the portals going to check their traps.

"No, Hiei you're going to listen to me. We are going to talk and get things clear. Today."Kurama said as he grab Hiei's arm and made him face him.

"Kurama not now"Hiei said, his touch felt like it burn through his clothes he could clearly remember how soft his finger were against his skin. He avoided Kurama piercing glared. It was the same glare he saw five years ago. Pain and anger fill them. Pain from him and anger from the ignorance he showed.

"All right when?"Kurama said as he let go off Hiei's arm.

"Later"Hiei said as resume walking.

Kurama sighed as he continued walking and followed behind Hiei.

Night had fallen again and Hiei and Kurama didn't speak at all. Hiei was too lost in thought that he didn't hear or feel one of Kurama's plants react. Until Kurama spoke to him.

"Hiei, My plants caught something."Kurama said telepathically to Hiei.

Hiei looked at Kurama and he jumped down quietly he landed next to him. Both nodded and hurried towards the portal that lead to the outskirt of Tokyo.

Kib try and tried to get free of the vines that had him caught. He was going to be in so much trouble he had to get away now.

Hiei ran full speed leaving Kurama behind.

Kurama watched Hiei leave him in the dust.

"Fuck"he breathed out as he hurried up.

Hiei reached the site. He found Kib hanging upside down from one of Kurama's vines.

"Kib"Hiei said in surprised.

Kib just tremble and stutter. "Master Hiei."

"What fuck are you doing here?"Hiei said as he cut him down.

"I-I-I"Kib stutter.

"I think we found our spy,"said Kurama as he finally caught up.

Hiei looked at Kib and growl.

Kib just closed his eyes awaiting death.

Hiei just grab him from his shirt collar and started to drag him back to the mansion.

Kurama suddenly felt and odd breeze around his plants soon his plants had been put down to defense mode.

"Hiei we are not alone."Kurama breathed out as he took out his rose and made it into his rose whip.

Hiei dropped Kib and open his jagan.

He closed his eyes and searched the area. He turned his head side ways searching. He once again look straight ahead and found in front of him a dark shadow figure standing in front of him.

"What the-"Hiei said as he open his eyes to find no one in front of him but then he was punch straight in the jagan with a powerful force that send him flying backward until he slam into a tree.

Kurama looked around but couldn't sense any Ki around.

Hiei stood up slowly. "Kib you try anything I swear I will shove this dragon so far up your ass I'll make a tunnel from your mouth to your ass."He threatened as he raised his hand to show his bandaged arm. He used the jagan to look again.

Hiei saw the figured behind Kurama.

"Kurama behind you"he screamed.

Kurama turn to look but found no one. Then he was punch in the gut which send him to his knee and he pass out by the strong blow.

Hiei saw the figure heading towards Kib. The Hiei realized it wanted Kib. Hiei raised his Ki almost summoning the dragon he ran to stand in front to Kib. The shadow stop and stood there staring at Hiei. When Hiei raise his Ki more summoning the first of the mortal flame the shadow then disappear and soon there was no sign of it around.

Hiei look around to see Kib trembling uncontrollably. Hiei raised his hand and Kib immediately fainted of fear.

He grabbed him again by his collar and dragged him along to where Kurama had been knocked out. He shook the Kitsune but nothing. He touch him by were he was hit and Kurama winced. Hiei felt around the Kitsune's chest and felt that he had some crack ribs. Hiei then pick up Kurama sliding his left arm under his legs. With his other arm he held Kurama's head. He then Kneel down again and grab Kib shirt collar again with his left arm. He drag him and Hurried at a fast pace back to the mansion.

Kurama awoke to find himself on Hiei's bed. He had his chest wrapped in bandages.

He slowly got out of bed he winced a bit as he slowly stood up. He touched his chest feeling around it felt like he only had a few crack ribs. They would heal in two days the least.

Kurama walked out side to find Hiei interrogating Kib.

"Either you talk or I'll kill you but it will be a slow and painful death. Be damn lucky I'm protecting you because last night they were after you. NOW TALK."

Kib tremble more he knew either way he would die.

"I want a deal."Kib blurted out.

"Well you're not stupid after all my promise I won't kill you."Hiei said.

Kurama stood by the doorway seeing Hiei's negotiating skill he was surprised not to have found Hiei already beating Kib to a pulp. Hiei must have learned political term from Mokuro as well thought Kurama as he watched with out making a noise.

"Okay master Hiei but I don't want them to kill me either,"Kib said.

"Hey I said I won't kill you didn't say I was going to protect you're sorry ass life."Hiei retorted.

"Kib If you tell us what we need to know I promised you will be sent to Spirit world. Were you will be given a sentence for being part of a cooperation, but since you are helping it will weigh out you're sentence,"said Kurama as he approached both of them.

Hiei look at Kurama his eyes soften a bit as he stared.

"Hiei I'm fine."Kurama answer.

"Hn"

Kib pondered for a bit, then he nodded accepting the offer.

"Then talk"urged Hiei annoyed by all the delay.

Kib nodded and started to talk.

"About six months ago while I was out in the woods picking wood. Some sort of shadow approached me offering me a large amount of money if I help him give out information about you master and about the things that go around the portals. At first I was reluctant."

Hiei scoff not believing that part and Kurama swat him in the arms to be quiet. He nodded to Kib to continue.

Kib nodded, " The they threaten to do some sort of riot in the mansion and that they were going frame me and they were going to kill me if I didn't cooperated. So then I did. For the next months I at night after I prepare your bath and you excuse me for the night. I ran into your room read your notes and made a copy of them. Every two days I would go out to the portals and looked them over checking for what kind of security features have been made then I ran towards the outskirts of the territory to meet with shadow. That it's name. He's the shadow of someone. He's like another person that lives just by darkness. He has no Ki since he's just a dark light. The real operator of this is somewhere off in the no land of the Makai. A few weeks ago the shadow has been visiting every portal that are near here. He some how goes through them and then comes back doing something to them. Then demons would show up and easily go through. I don't know the name of the main operator or who he is the only person I ever met was the shadow."Kib finish and waited for the two demons reaction.

Hiei took in every bit of information and started to put the puzzle together. Kurama did the same as he sat down on a chair.

"What Shadow must have done is re done the codes of Ki's in the portals and now it accepts any with the stone that Yusuke show us letting any demon go through easily."Kurama said.

Hiei nodded agreeing with what Kurama had said.

"Are you sure that's all?"Asked Hiei.

Kib nodded, "I'm sure master Hiei."

"Well now we have to find this Shadow and have it lead us to the main demon who s doing this."Hiei said as he grabbed Kib.

"Now you're going to spirit world."Hiei said.
