Long lost words whisper slowly to me
Still can’t find what keeps me here
She sobbed into her arms as she sat beneath the old oak tree in the middle of the park. She had run there, like he had told her to, only an hour ago. He had promised to come back for her, but where was he?
When all this time I’ve been so hollow inside
I know you’re still there
She knew where he was, she had felt his energy fade along with the ones who attacked them. The day had gone by peacefully and then, when the rain had started to fall, demons attacked and she had to run.
Watching me, Wanting me
I can feel you pull me down
Fearing you, loving you
I won’t let you pull me down
Her body was numb as she thought about him. His soft, but piercing green eyes and his beautiful red hair. She also thought about his demonic half, a thieving fox whose gold eyes and silver hair always captivated her. Taking a shuddering breath, she force he thoughts out of her head.
Hunting you, I can smell you - alive
Your heart pounding in my head.
‘Kurama’, she thought, ‘Why? Why did you leave me…’ Closing her eyes, she saw his sweet and gentle face looking down at her.
“Selene”
Looking up, she gasped, he was there, in front of her, glowing with a soft white light.
Watching me, wanting me
I can feel you pull me down
Saving me, raping me, watching me
He held out his hand and she took it. With a simple tug, he pulled her up and into his arms.
“Now, we can be together…forever…”
She laughed and hugged him as he picked her up and carried her into the light.

When the rain stopped, Yusuke and the others came out, gently carrying Kurama’s body, only to find her, still against the tree, lifeless, and clutching a blood red rose in her hand. At once, they knew that they were together, as was always meant to be…
