Everybody's Fool

It's been a while since I've updated anything, I used to update in fan fiction.net; but now I've decided to move over here. There's no particular reason as to why I moved. This is a song fic.

Yukina awoke with a start; she had heard a sound downstairs, and decided to go investigate.

Perfect by nature, icons of self indulgence, just what we all need, more lies about a world that…

There were voices in one of the rooms of genkai's temple. She didn't want to disturb anyone, so she stayed in the hall.

The voices were now coming out of the room, one of them was angry. So she quickly hid in a broom closet, trying hard not to make a sound.

Never was and never will be, have you no shame? Don't you see me? You know you've got everybody fooled.

Hiei came out of the room first, followed by Genkai and Kurama. Something had happened; Hiei was bleeding through a gash across his leg.

Look here she comes now, bow down and stare in wonder. Oh how we love you. No flaws when your pretending, but now I know she…

Kurama looked at Hiei in worry. "Hiei, this charade you've played has gone far enough. I know your trying to help Yukina, but how is there logic in searching for her brother, if you're him?"

"I told you fox! I wasn't searching for anyone, I just told Yukina that. This gash was from a demon.", Hiei remarked.

Yukina just stared from her hiding place. Hiei was her brother? Then why didn't he tell her…?

Never was and never will be. You don't know how you've betrayed me, and somehow you've got everybody fooled.

Genkai sighed. "I have no idea how a demon that was able to attack YOU arrived here, but hurry up and get that wound cleaned up. You're staining the carpet."

Hiei glared, and went outside. Kurama turned to Genkai. "I'm sorry for the disturbance; I must go now…I don't want my mother to worry." Kurama then left as well, and Genkai went up to her room.

Yukina stood there for a second, replaying the moment.

Without the mask, where will you hide? Can't find yourself lost in your lie?

Did they think she was too sweet and naïve to know the truth, why did Hiei not tell her?

I know the truth now! I know who you are, and I don't love you anymore.

Yukina slowly came out of the closet. Now she would continue her charade. SHE will play the fool, and wear the mask of innocence.

It never was and never will be. You don't know how you've betrayed me, and somehow you've got everybody fooled.

She wondered if Hiei would ever tell her, or if he was too ashamed to face reality.

It never was and never will be. You're not real and you can't save me. Somehow now you're everybody's fool.

It all made since now, as she slowly got back to her bed, to awaken later and be played the fool.

I'm not sure if this should be a one-shot or a story. It looks good the way it is… Well hope you enjoyed it. Don't be played the fool ^_~ .
