Ash: Oh my goodness this was sad… I almost cried writing it. I don't think I did all that good but… poor Hiei. I was in a depressed mood.My first Songfic… I love this song to pieces;though I butcheredit&# 8230; it would have gone well with Kurama and Hiei too. Ok I dun own any of these chars except Natsu.

She stammered, blonde strands whipping in front of her pale face, "I don't have a good reason… but I do know I need you."

She nodded, "The lines between need and want have blurred though."

She blushed, her blue eyes looking past him to Kurama. "I…I don't usually make myself this vulnerable…." She wrapped her arms around her chest, the fur on her coat bunching and swaying in the bitter winter breeze, "I'm sorry Hiei…. I know you don't need me."

He held up a rough hand, "Stop." He was gone in a blur of black and red. She whispered, "I can't give up on you Hiei… I love you too much."

The blonde headed beauty jumped in front of the arrow, "Hiei!" She fell limply at his feet.

"Stupid Natsu!" HE picked up the crumpled him, "Yusuke!" Yusuke nodded as the Jaganash carried the female to Yukina.

"What happened to her?" Yukina knelt next to her removing the arrow painfully from the unconscious Natsu.

"She… jumped in front of an arrow I didn't know was coming toward me." Yukina looked into the watery red eyes of her brother, "Why did she do that Yukina?"

She smiled, "We protect the things we love."

He looked away, "She can't love me."

"H-Hiei…." Natsu stirred her breath shallow and rasp; He was by her side holding her hand gently, "I'm right here."

Kurama would swear he saw Hiei blush, "Koenma's not happy about you refusing to step foot in Makai."

"How did it happen?" Keiko let a rose fall to the coffin as she spoke.

Yusuke sniffed, "They were sitting in the yard, talking about the baby she was pregnant with. A demon attacked and Hiei kill it, but… the demon had shot her with a poison dart…. Hiei carried her to Yukina but… she died on the way in his arms."

Kurama looked across the graveyard at Hiei; "Do you think he'll be able to go on without her?"

Yukina sighed and dropped a tear gem into the coffin, "I don't know. He loved her more than anything." She picked up a black gem that was on the ground and sighed, "They were almost happy."

"I'm surprised he lasted two months actually." Koenma spoke solemnly as he stared at the cold Jaganash in the coffin. Kurama nodded and dabbed his eyes, "She as his life; the only thing that kept him alive this long."

"Shall we go? Your mother and father are waiting. Your mother has done nothing but talk about you. She missed you so much."

Ash <Sweatdrops>: I know I know… it seems like you're doomed… guess I shouldn't have written a heartbreaking story about someone whose name is a forbidden child.

Kurama <clears throat>: At least we agree on that. You know that was cruel of you… Hiei will probably cry now.

Ash: Oh! No! Don't do that!
