Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Fairy Tale YYH Theater ❯ Prologue to the Chaos ( Prologue )
Fairy Tale YYH Theater- Prologue
By Matoko Shizaki
Disclaimer: FUNimation owns YYH. Various writers own the fairy tales in this (even though I don't know all of them) so I'll acknowledge that.
Notes: I've read a lot of fan mangas that are shonen-ai and some of the best were odd little fairy tales. I decided to take my own ideas, combined with these classic children's stories and make a comedy. For dedications, thanks to the following readers:

It was just an average day for Yusuke and his friends. They lounged about the gardens near the Gate of Judgment watching the day pass them by. Hiei was fast asleep in the tree and Kurama sat beneath him reading from a novel. Kuwabara had fallen fast asleep and Yusuke was flipping through the paper. "Any luck in finding us a job Yusuke?" The ningen shook his head sending his hair out of place. "Nope. Not a single one." Kurama sighed and put down his book. "Ever since they gave all the producers a month off, we've been broke." Yusuke's stomach grumbled and he put a hand over it. "Not to mention starving. I wish we had some food." Kuwabara's bubble burst and he woke up. "Did someone say food?" Hiei woke up too. "No you idiot. Do you see any food around here?" "Who asked you anyway?" Kuwabara yelled shaking his fist at Hiei. Yusuke scanned the paper once more. "Voila!"
Hiei practically fell out of the tree forgeting his usual grace and the group gathered around the paper as Yusuke read aloud. "Anime Actors Wanted. Needed to depict classic fairy tales in a comic way. Good pay. Apply with Matoko Shizaki." Yusuke folded the paper and held up his fist triumphantly. "Now we can afford to eat!" Everyone but Hiei's eyes twinkled as tears of joy streamed down their faces. "Wait a second. This girl is a complete wacko. Do you have any idea what she'll put us through? Especially me." "Oh come on Hiei! It's good money." Kurama chirped happily. Hiei frowned. "Well, there is no way in hell you're going to get me to do that." Hiei crossed his arms and closed his eyes, not noticing that Kuwabara, Yusuke, and Kurama were exchanging evil glances. Without another word, Kuwabara hoisted Hiei up onto his shoulder and held him down as he tried to struggle. "Put me down you moron!!!!" Hiei flapped his arms up and down but to no avail. "It's for your own good Hiei…" Yusuke muttered.
In Kaidan, there was a small apartment with a sigh in the window matching the ad in the newspaper. "This must be the place." Kuwabara said looking over the article they had torn out. Kurama nodded noticing the sigh next to the door reading: "Shizaki Matoko". There were a series of rumbles, smashes, and screams from inside the apartment and the group backed up. "See, I told you this wasn't a good idea." Hiei grumbled, still thrown over Kuwabara's shoulder. "We need the money." Yusuke exclaimed shoving his right hand in his pocket. With his left hand, he knocked on the door. "Anyone home?" Kurama tear dropped. "That was a dumb question." Yusuke rubbed the back of his head. "I know." Suddenly the door opened.
A tall, 13 year old girl stood in the doorway. She had a CD player in her hand and the headphones on her head. The girl's orange hair was frizzy and curly, just barely manageable in a ponytail. Her greenish brown eyes shone in the dim light. "Hey, can I help you?" Kurama nodded and produced the ad. "We're here for the job." The girl took the ad. "Oh, hey, you're the guys from Yu Yu Hakusho! I'm Matoko." Yusuke cocked his head to one side. "Okay, so you're a kid?" Matoko smiled. "Don't let that fool ya! I'm a good fan fic writer and manga artist." Yusuke ran his fingers through his hair. "Okay… sure." Matoko gazed at Kurama and Yusuke and then turned her gaze to Kuwabara and Hiei. "Oh, I see you remember me quiet well Hiei." Matoko said with a shy smile. Hiei grunted. "I didn't want to come here. They made me." Matoko shrugged. "Well, come on in guys! I've got the set all ready."
Yusuke and Kurama followed the girl who was just a little younger then them and Kuwabara ducked as he entered, Hiei still over his shoulder. "You know that when you sit me down I'm going to rip you limb from limb." Hiei mumbled with a snicker. Matoko glared at the fire demon. "You do and you die. Remember, when you're here Hiei, you're totally in my control." Yusuke leaned over to Kurama. "Why's she protecting Kuwabara?" Kurama rubbed his chin. "I've heard of this girl. She's a big Kuwabara fan." "Oh." Yusuke turned back to the blank room Matoko had lead them into. "What's this?" Kuwabara asked setting Hiei down on his feet. "This is the set!" Matoko said, her voice echoing. "I can make anything happen here. Now, for our first story: Cinderella!"
Hiei grimaced. "Not again…"
