Xephira: Hey every one. Yes, I know I said that I wouldn't update until I had ten reviews but I didn't think that it would happen anytime soon since I still only have… lets see… TWO REVIEWS! OK, I'm fine. Really… I am. Not really but oh well. Anyway…I decided to keep going because I know that the first chapter wasn't that exciting. It should get better soon though.

Hiei: Who do these people think they are? Not reviewing…. Hn.

Xephira: Yes… well go ahead Disclaimer.

Disclaimer: Xephira Black Does not own YYH, she only owns herself. Oh yeah, and this plot line. So don't steal it… Or Else! * a spot light turns on and you see a man and woman tied and gagged.*

Xephira: *trying to keep her anger under control* Yes… Thanks… for… that…wonderful… presentation…

Hiei: I'll take care of him for you. Just get on with the Fic. *Hiei starts walking toward Disclaimer. Disclaimer sees him and starts to run. Hiei appears right in front of Disclaimer. The screen fades black and the fic starts.*

Ch. 2

Tears will fall…

'Man Hiei has gotten pretty fast these past three years. He must've been training.' Xephira thought to herself. 'It's a good thing that I've been training, too.' It had turned into a race and so far it was still a tie. Xephira acted like she was falling back to fool her playmate. Hiei smirked to himself because of it. Then Xephira used the rest of her stored energy and zoomed way ahead, startling Hiei to a stop. She reached the tree where they said would be the finish line and turned around. Hiei was still two miles back, a shocked look on his face. He started walking toward her not believing what just happened.

"So Hiei, feel embarrassed? You were just beaten by a girl!" Xephira snickered teasingly. The smile disappeared form her face as she watched him. He was walking toward her not looking at all happy. They were in the middle of a dessert with only a little food and water, but tons of sand everywhere and one tree that marked where the middle was. That's where Xephira was standing, trying to catch her breath. Even though she won the race, she had just a tiny bit more energy stored. She was watching the sand at Hiei's feet. Every time he took a step the sand sunk more than usual. There were a few small pops and crackles and then it happened. The sand from beneath him gave way and he yelled, startled, and fell.

"Hiei! No!!!" She yelled and ran up to the hole. There hanging onto a tree root was Hiei. "Hiei, are you alright? What happened?" She asked trying to figure out how to help him without falling in herself. Finally she took her scythe, blade against her bare hands, and put down the handle to help him up.

"Do I look like I'm alright, Xephira?" He yelled at her. "What do you think you are doing?!? Did I ask you to help me? No!" he answered himself. "So don't help me!" Obviously he was angry for more than one reason. Blood dripped slowly from her hands, and down the blade. She winced from the pain, not only from the scythe, but also Hiei's harsh words. He had never spoken to her like that before. Then again she had never beaten Hiei at a race either.

So Xephira stepped back, but that was a bad move. For as soon as she did, the sand under her collapsed, raining an avalanche of sand on Hiei. It also kicked up a huge cloud of dust, so that Xephira had to cover her face.

When the dust cleared she looked down the hole and… Hiei was gone! "Hiei!" Xephira yelled down the hole. It just kept echoing as its answer. It seemed to go on forever.

'Oh… What to do, what to do?' She though.' Should I jump down after him? No, no, that would only make it worse, for then I wouldn't be able to get out either.' Just the sand underneath her started sinking. She jumped just in time, as where she was just standing collapsed making yet another gaping black abyss. Xephira couldn't stand it anymore, she ran to the shade of the willow tree, fell to her knees, and covered her face trying to keep the tears in. She hadn't cried for a long time. In fact she hadn't since her brother left. Thinking about him made it worse, and one single tear fell form her eye. She looked down expecting to see a wet spot on the sand. She was startled to see a translucent gem lying there. She picked it up and looked through it. In the middle of it was a black mist. Xephira just sat there staring at it, when a voice sounded from behind her.

"Do not cry, my dear." It said. "It is not befitting of a lovely maiden as yourself." She looked behind her and saw a gentleman of a youkai in the form of a human with fox ears. "Dear maiden, my name is Yoku, Yoku Kurama. If you would like to come with me, I will help you as much as I can. My, my, what do we have here…" Yoku had seen the tear gem and stopped. "Where… Where did you get that?" He took it from between her fingers. Another tear fell before she could stop it. Yoku caught it, and glanced from the newly formed gem to her and back. He then whispered acting like she wasn't even there. "A shadow demoness tear gem… Only one youkai in the whole of spirit world can make these. One demoness and one demon, both said to be half-breeds. That is the supposed reason that they can." Yoku then looked at her seriously. "You are Xephira Black, are you not?"

"Yes… I am." Xephira answered, embarrassed at crying in front of this stranger. Also afraid that this man wouldn't be as nice knowing that she is one of the two forbidden children.

"Do not fret, child, I do not mind it one bit, it isn't your fault after all. Why are you crying in the first place, are you lost?" Yoku asked harmlessly. Xephira looked up at the hole. Yoku saw it for the first time. "What happened?"

"He fell down. I tried to save him, but he refused. I stepped back. An avalanche of sand rained down on him. When the dust cleared, he was gone." Xephira said putting her head back down.

"Who is this 'he'? Where you two partners?"

"I guess you could say that." She started crying again and tear gems littered the shade of the tree and blood from her hands was smeared on her face.. Yoku comforted her as much as he could, still wondering whom the 'he' was. After a while Xephira cried herself into a deep sleep, her head in Yoku's lap.

*~*~Chapter End~*~*

Xephira: Now where has Hiei gone? I can't finish with out him. *Hiei appears out of nowhere*

Hiei: Hn. Served him right. Stupid Discalimer.

Xephira: Okay then…Anyway… What did ya think? A bit more exciting?

Hiei: Just a bit….(his thoughts: 'SHE KILLED ME! HOW COULD SHE KILL ME?')

Xephira: Well Please R&R! ( her thoughts: 'What if they don't review? What will it mean? Do they Hate it? Are they just lazy and like it but just won't review? I hope they review so I don't have to keep wondering this!')
