"Pardon me while I burst into flames.
I've had enough of the world, and it's people's mindless games
Pardon me while I burn, and rise above the flame
Pardon me, pardon me. I'll never be the same.
Never be the same... yeah.
Pardon me while I burst into flames."

It had been just over a year and just over six months that he had been searching for a way home. As it turned out the Youkai wasn't the world he was looking for either. It turned out that the home he was in search of was on that had his Kitsune in it too.
He had his home, his happiness, and his friend. He'd just never had what he wanted and didn't realize the unease he had was because he'd found what he had searched for. True he'd wanted to keep track of his sister and it was easier in the Youkai but he knew she was back in the Ice Realm and she was undeniably safe there. He should have just let it end there. After all, humans don't live as long as demons and it would have only been 10 years at best that he would have had to wait.
How could he, the man with almost ultimate vision, not see what he had had? Now that he had the time to go through it all, it just seemed so clear but ultimately he hadn't seen it when it really mattered. And that was the problem, at the time it mattered he turned away from the realization.
"It's not helping to continue thinking about it now. I have to find that portal." He spoke to himself.
His normal black attire had changed, he still wore his black pants but he now had a light blue tank covered with a navy cloak that was lined with a thin strip of yellow. Since he had spent so much time wondering the ends were becoming tattered and worn.
He had taken refugee with one of the Kings, and really he wasn't even sure which it had been. He wasn't even sure who's territory it was that he was in. He really didn't care either, if it had a portal then he was going to be there. That was all there was to it.
{How could I have left him like that. He's going to need me when she starts to leave. That was why we decided to wait to go and why it was so important for both of us to stay in the Ningenkai. I destroyed his plan. I may even be the reason he isn't able to leave the Ningenkai. He'll have to play out his entire life first.} He thought to himself.
And his thoughts just spiraled from there. He thought of all the ways he'd betrayed his Kitsune's trust and most likely forced him into a situation that he hadn't planned on being a part of. He then began to think about the things he'd put himself through.
Sure he'd got in some training and he'd increased his strength and destroyed some of the annoying lower class demons that would have got in his way later on. He had at one point secured a place to live and he had even achieved a good rank with one of the Kings. Still none of that had given him anymore comfort then what he had had before he left for the Ningenkai to steal the Reikai's treasures.
{It was ridiculous to think that this would have changed anything. I knew that I had been searching for a place where I was excepted. He gave me that. Even now the only reason I haven't been killed is because I'm stronger.} His thoughts betraying his will to give it up.
And so he kept walking, searching for some way to return to the place he knew was his home. The place where he was excepted. The place beside his Kitsune. Though his thoughts still lingered on his mistakes with every step he too.
It took him another three months before he finally came across the thing he'd been searching for. He'd finally found his portal. Quickly he ran for the portal, he had no idea how long it would hold. He just prayed that it would hold till he reached it. Just as he was approaching he could see that the edges of the portal were beginning to pull in. It was closing.
He picked up his pace, using any energy he had left and dove toward the portal. He couldn't miss it. He couldn't spend another nine months looking for a way to return to his Kitsune. He couldn't wait any longer to be with him, not when the way had been placed so closely in front of him.
Just as his thoughts began to betray him he landed in the Ningenkai. Looking around he saw it was the park portal. The same park he'd spent so many of his days sitting in. The park where he'd made the decision that had changed so much in his life. None the less he was closer to home. Closer to his Kitsune.
Now, he just had to find his Kitsune and tell him that he was wrong. Tell him that he'd made a mistake and he was wrong to not stick to the plans that they had made. He just hoped that he would understand and they could make amends.
Taking a breath he steadied himself and got his bearings back. He still remembered the path he needed to take but he never really thought he'd be using it again. Looking around he realized that it was twilight, he wondered if he'd even be home.
None the less he jumped into the closest tree and began going from branch to branch through the park. He noticed a few people looking to places where he had jumped from he couldn't help but smile at their simplistic logic. If it had been him he'd be looking away from that tree to the areas around it to find the enemy but here the noise was dismissed as some playful squirrels.
He reached the home he knew so well and wasn't really that surprised to see that the bedroom window he'd entered was closed. He wondered how strange it would be for someone in his condition to knock on the door. He knew humans considered the disheveled to be 'homeless' or 'bums'.
Figuring it would be better he decided to wait outside till Kurama came out. It was better then startling the elderly human that was his 'mother'. So he propped himself in the tree and settled in, he figured he wouldn't get to talk to the kitsune till morning.
He ended up taking a light nap and was awoke by the sun. His Kitsune must not have come out that night, for he hadn't noticed any change in the area around him. So he continued to wait and he waited all day and there was still no sign of him. It was getting dark and the raven haired demon was tired of waiting, he wanted to see him. So he began to inspect the home and was surprised to find it was empty. There were plenty of decorations and things but there was no sign that anyone had been inside for quite some time.
Now he was nervous... there was an unexplainable burning sensation in his chest and he could feel his heart racing. What could have happened to the Kitsune and his family? He finally came to a stop at the front door and stared. How was he suppose to find him if he wasn't at home? He'd never followed Kurama when he'd left so he didn't even know where to begin looking.
"Pardon me while I burst into flames.

Pardon me, pardon me. I'll never be the same.
