Author's babbling: AH~ I can't see the moon from where I'm writing. So depressed -.-. Well, I finally got an idea for the next chapter (God knows how long it's been since I wrote) and hopefully I'll be able to satisfy my TWO, that's right, bitch, TWO reviewers! LoL, Nyquil makes you do funny things.

Disclaimer: I own only Yuri, Jae Kyung, Nanashi, Osamu, and Mizuko.

The warehouse was cold and dark, despite the fact that it was broad daylight outside; its cheerful light was shunned out by the covered windows, creating a stuffy, yet empty aura. Kurama kicked aside an empty cardboard box, watching the dust swirl up into the air as he patiently waited for his presence to be acknowledged. He was greeted almost immediately by a few shurikens thrown at his feet. Kurama frowned at the sight of his shoes slightly scuffed by the thrown projectiles when the child of darkness revealed himself from the shadows. Perched high upon the thin beams of the warehouse, Hiei sneered down at Kurama and called out in a low, seductively dangerous voice, "What are you doing here, Kurama? Shouldn't you be at school, playing Human?"

Kurama laughed, "Does it look like I'm in the mood to play Human?"

Hiei glanced over at the demon quickly; Kurama had left the red violet uniform at home and instead wore a tight shirt that displayed his finely toned muscles nicely with a loose shirt worn over it. He donned on dark slacks with floppy, comfortable Converses. His normally loose red hair now hung down his back in a tight braid, making the appearance of a normal boy possible if it wasn't for the two bangs hanging behind his ears. Hiei scoffed and replied, "You look like a damn fruit. Since I'm never in the mood for an ass-ache, I suggest that you leave."

"Come on, I'll let you be on top this time."

"Kurama..."

"I need to talk to you about something."

"Why do girls always want to talk after sex?"

"I'm serious."

"I don't give a damn."

"Don't be such an ass."

"If you don't like it, then stop bothering me."

"Come down here."

"Go fuck a guy."

Irritated, Kurama swiftly leapt up onto the same beam that Hiei was reclining upon, and quicker than Hiei could react, Kurama let loose a demon weed, its strong tendrils wrapping Hiei down into place. When the plant had covered Hiei in a way where he could no longer move his body, Kurama shifted his weight around until he finally settled himself comfortably on the beam. Kurama then, ignoring Hiei's glowering glare, began the conversation again.

"I want to talk about last night."

"What's there to talk about?"

"You know that girl, don't you?"

"..."

Annoyed by the silence, Kurama snapped his fingers and the weed began to move again, this time tightening its grip on Hiei. Groaning at the newly added pressure, Hiei hissed out venomously, "Kurama, you've always been a sadistic bastard."

"Hey, you know I like it rough."

"Bastard...when I'm free, I'm taking all your kinky toys and beat you half to death with them."

"Will you use the whip?"

"ARGH, DAMN YOU FOX BRAT!"

Kurama closed his eyes and snapped his fingers again twice and immediately the plant loosened its grip on the fire demon, though still anchoring him still. Kurama opened his emerald clear eyes and turned them upon Hiei. He leaned close over Hiei, his red hair tickling Hiei's collarbone. So close were they that Hiei could feel Kurama's hot breath floating in the small space between them. A light perfume of an unknown flower lingered in, weaving in and out, the hot, steamy air. Kurama's eyes shined eerily and again he asked, "You know that girl, don't you?"

Hiei sighed and looked away. "I thought I did."

"Who is she?"

"I don't know."

Kurama growled softly and snapped his fingers again. Hiei winced at the doubled pressure, but declined to give anymore information. On and on the torturous game played throughout the whole day. Twilight had fallen and the two demons were still alight upon the beam, never backing down. Hiei now suffered three broken ribs, a cracked fibula, and a dislocated shoulder. Kurama too was weary; controlling the plant and nourishing it had taken most of his chi, if he was not careful, the parasite of a plant would drain him dry, leaving him vulnerable to anything-particularly Hiei's blade. Kurama withdrew the plant a bit, allowing Hiei to breathe more easily, and turned to one of the numerous cracks on the roof, watching the dying light danced across the room. He spoke again, this time not demanding nor teasing, but simply questioning.

"Hiei, we've been partners for how long now? You know my past almost as well as I do, yet I feel that you've kept yours hidden from me."

"Kurama, don't tell me that you've traded your manhood to become a woman now."

"I'm serious; I want to know what that girl is to you? Who's Mizuko?"

"That girl...she isn't Mizuko."

"Then why-"

"She reminded me of Mizuko, but she's not."

"Are you sure? What if it is she? Then maybe-"

"It's not her. Mizuko is that girl."

"The one..."

"...that died when we tried to steal the jewel. That girl."

Kurama held his words back, afraid to see what Hiei would do if he pressed the matter further. Hiei's face remained rock hard, a mask of unfeeling ice. Though his face seemed unemotional, his body rocked unsteadily side to side, as if he was a little drowsy. Kurama smiled and although he knew what emotions Hiei was probably hiding within himself, Kurama asked again.

"Why did you think that girl was Mizuko?

"She shared the same fear of my blade as Mizuko."

"?"

"Kurama, I'm not sharing my damn life story with you tonight."

"Couldn't you just tell me about Mizuko?"

Hiei glared at Kurama from the corners of his eyes before answering, "Will it get you to shut the hell up?"

"For the moment, yes."

Hiei growled, thorough annoyed, and began his story...

My first clan turned me out when they realized how dangerous of a threat I had grown into. Still young, I left the cowards in search of another clan that might take me in until I had mastered the blade. I traveled around the Youkai world, looking for such a clan. In the meantime, I supported-well, more like entertained myself by selling my skills to other clans during those ridiculous wars they waged against their rivals. I guess I had fun, but in the end it started to lose its thrill. There was no real challenge no matter what handicap I forced on myself.

This boredom eventually made me careless, because the enemy took me captive during the wars. They didn't kill me, probably hoping to use me for future wars, and set the slave girl to nurse me back to health. Our first meeting...it didn't create a nice first impression. Since then, she feared my blade, but stayed firm to her duties and took care of me.

When I was well enough to do most things on my own, I learned much about the clan I was staying with, particularly that slave girl. A souvenir of a raid no one could quite remember she spent most of her life with the clan, doing little odd jobs they were too lazy to do. Though she was no longer require to do so, she made a habit of bringing my meals to my tent everyday. She was often abused by the other vagrants, delaying my meal and when it did came it was half-empty. Being pissed as I was, I taught her nearly everything I know-simple taijitsu, agility, stealth- everything save for how to use the sword. She never did get over that fear, but her acrobatic abilities made up for that.

She was pretty damn good. She rose above her station as a slave girl and did little thieving jobs ranging from swindling to full out burglary. She was pretty damn sly since she had one of those innocent face people tend to trust easily. Sometimes we even did jobs together and even though I never admitted it, she was a good partner.

Our last job together-her last job ever-was to steal that jewel. The chief of the clan struck a deal with a potential ally for it. It was supposed to be easy, but once we were caught, we ran for the woods. I told her I'd try to lead them away and that she should make for the camp and warn the clan. It took awhile for me to realize that they'd stop chasing me. I got scared and ran for the camp, wondering if they decided to follow her instead. I knew that she was dead before I even got to the camp. The bastards torched the place-God, I can still hear their screams, especially her feminine voice shrieking above everyone else's. Turned out that the potential ally cut a backdoor deal with the Enma and betrayed us. When I got to their camp, it was empty-probably gone on their slave trade again- but I made sure that when they did come home they'd never leave again.

"I never thought of Mizuko since then. I guess it was one of those pesky things you wished you could forget, but you never quite managed to. It's a shame that she died though, I think you would have liked her, Kurama. You guys both have that innocently evil quality. She's a hell of a better drinker than you are, though, not passing out after the third bottle of soju."

Hiei smirked at the last remarked and turned to face Kurama but found the bishounen leaning against his shoulders, fast asleep. Having a sudden inspiration from Yusuke, an evil gleam twinkled in Hiei's eyes. Trying to look as innocently as a fire demon could possibly look, he gently pushed Kurama's head off his shoulders and onto the cold steel of the beam. Then, quicker than what anime could possibly capture, Kurama suddenly slipped from the high support beam of the warehouse and landed quite painfully on the dirt floor.

"What the fu-?"

Kurama pulled himself off the dirty floor and up on his feet, looking confusedly around him. A flimsy flitter of paper was heard and when Kurama turned his head up at the sound, a white note was seen floating down towards him. An outreached hand quickly caught the note and Kurama read aloud, amused.

Kurama,

It was clever of you to use the pollen of Effgleweed to lure the truth out of me. I'll admit, it took me awhile to realize what you've done. Too bad you fell asleep during my story. Consider this as punishment, for what, I'll let you decide.

::kerchoo:: Funny, it's not that cold today. I wonder what made me sneeze like that? The night air wraps around me like a warm blanket, the summer heat yet to leave. I stayed on the roof that night, watching the bright stars as I've always had. As I tried to identify the constellations that hung above me, I felt my mind drift deep into my past, pulling up muddied memories I've buried long ago. I closed my eyes tightly, as if to shut those memories away. I felt the darkness grasp at my lungs, squeezing my breath out. I hugged my knees closer to my chest as I tried to call out for a name I couldn't quite remember but knew that I've loved it dearly.

^^ This chapter, despite of how short it is, took me a while to think of, so you better like it! Just kidding; you don't have to like it, but you have to flame it then xP. Anyway, it was pretty fun writing this chapter; hopefully you'll forgive me for the yaoi jokes I "sneaked" in there. Just because I don't support yaoi doesn't mean I'm not going to poke fun at it ::poke poke::
