Chapter five: Maya's Payback Plan

Once out of the portal, we were in a huge business like building.

 

“Follow me,” said Botan. Everyone fell into step behind her.

 

“Where are we going?” Ami asked.

 

“To see Koenma, prince of the spirit world,” Yusuke replied.

 

“Right,” she stretched out the word.

 

They came to a huge door that appeared to be made for a giant. Once they stepped inside, Ami look around and got very confused. “Where is the `prince'?”

 

“I'm right here,” he said.

 

Ami looked over to where the voice came from. “But...but you're just a baby!” she all but shouted.

 

“Never mind that. Boys,” he said while looking over to the spirit team,“we have a situation. A very powerful princess has been reincarnated. If someone manipulates her, it could destroy the human world. Your job is to find her and keep her safe.”

 

“Great, another mission,” Yusuke sarcastically said.

 

“I bet I can find her first Urameshi,” challenged Kuwabara.

 

“Ok, if I win, you have to wear a pink, frilly skirt to school for a week...” Yusuke accepted.

 

“And if I win, you have to carry around a purse for a week. Deal?” Kuwabara asked.

 

“Deal,” Yusuke said as they shook hands.

 

“Do they always take thing so seriously?” Ami asked, now out of her daze.

 

“Usually,” Kurama responded.

 

“Hn,” Hiei said.

 

“Do you have a picture of the princess's reincarnation?” asked Kurama.

“Not at this time I don't. I have researchers doing that right now. Any more questions?” Koenma said.

 

“No/nope,” they said in unison, excluding Hiei.

 

~ Back In The Human World ~

 

“What are all of these `missions' you are talking about?” Ami asked while the others were trying to explain them to her.

 

“We just go and do a bunch of `errands' for Koenma `cause he's too lazy to do it himself,” replied Yusuke.

 

“That's not why Yusuke. Well we...” Kurama explained while in another part of the city, something evil is arising.

 

~ Maya's Bedroom ~

 

“I have to think of a perfect plan to get back at Ami with,” Maya said to herself. Maya was strangely deep in thought when the phone rang. She reached over and pick up her purple fuzz covered phone. (Author: I love those phones. They're just so cool feeling Readers: JUST WRITE THE REST Author: Fine *grumbles something*)

 

“Hello,” Maya said into the phone.

 

“Do you want to get back at Ami?” questioned the unknown voice.

 

“Maybe. Who's asking?” Ami countered.

 

“If you do I know how you can do it,” replied the voice.

 

“How?” Maya eagerly said.

 

“Are you willing to do whatever it takes?” asked the voice.

 

“Yes. Whatever it takes,” Maya responded.

 

“Here's the plan...”

 

~ The Mall ~

 

The whole gang was hanging in the food court. Yusuke and Kuwabara were having an eating contest while Ami was watching the gross mess in excitement.

 

“How can you find this fun to watch?” Kurama asked.

 

“I want to see who wins,” Ami said.

 

“Hn. Baka onna,” Hiei said.

 

Ami just rolled her eyes and continued to watch the mess. With food flying everywhere, both of the boys stuffed their faces. In the end, Yusuke came out as the winner.

 

“Yes! I won. In your face, in your face,!” shouted Yusuke.

 

“No fair! You had to have cheated!” whines Kuwabara. The two boys got into a fight, which turned into a yelling match. Big surprise there.

 

“Anyway, back to the matter at hand. How are we going to find the reincarnation if we have no idea what she looks like?” Kurama asked.

 

“Wait for Koenma to find her picture, duh!” Yusuke said before continuing the match.

 

“Yes Yusuke. That would be very smart indeed,” Hiei annoyingly, sarcastically stated.

 

“I don't see you coming up with anything better,” he replied.

 

“I have an idea,” Ami said while everyone turns to look at her,”Why don't we take our minds off of it for the night and go to a club!”

 

“I like her idea,” Yusuke agreed.

 

“Me too,” said Kuwabara.

 

“I don't know about that. We should really work on our case,” Kurama said.

 

“You are not getting me to go into one of those idiotic clubs. It's a waste of my time,” Hiei replied.

 

“Please Kurama. It will be really fun, I promise. PLEASE!” Ami begged.

 

“I don't know...” Kurama said.

 

“Come on man. Tomorrow we have plenty of time to work on the case. We might even have a picture by then,” Yusuke pleaded.

 

“Fine I'll go,” Kurama reluctantly agreed.

 

“Will you go Hiei? Don't make me beg,” Ami threatened.

 

“Hn, whatever,” Hiei said.

 

“Thank you! You won't regret it! We'll all have the time of our lives!” Ami said while running out of the mall.

 

“She sure is weird,” Kuwabara said.

 

~ On The Sidewalk ~

 

Ami was walking along the sidewalk toward her house. `What should I wear to the club tonight. I might go with that...'

 

“Ugh,” Ami grunted as she ran into someone. `Man I do that a lot, don't I.'

 

“Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going,” voiced someone she had never met before.

 

“It's fine. I wasn't watching either,” Ami said while she helped the girl up,”What's your name?”

 

“It's Amber. I just moved here,” she answered.

 

“That's cool. Hey, you want to hang out with me and my friends tonight? We are going to a club,” Ami questioned.

 

“Sure. Which club? I heard the Neon Butterfly is pretty cool,” Amber said.

 

“That sounds great. Me us there at 7. See you then,” Ami waved bye to her. She turned and walked away, again heading for her house.

 

~ With Maya ~

 

Maya cautiously walked into a dark, secluded ally. “Hello. Is anyone there?” she barely sputtered.

 

“Did you bring the stuff?” someone in the shadows said.

 

“Yes. I brought just what you asked of. I don't know how this would ever help me get revenge...,”

 

“Shut up!” the voice screamed as Maya fell to the ground with a whimper, “I didn't ask for your comments!” (Author: Sounds like the teachers *shudders*)

 

“I-I'm sorry,” she squeaked.

 

“Put the stuff you brought on the ground and go back to whatever you were doing. Don't ever speak of our meeting to anyone. UNDERSTAND?!” the voice ordered.

 

“Yes. I understand perfectly,” Maya said barely above a whisper. Maya set the stuff on the ground and walked as fast as she could out of the ally. Once she felt safer she slowed down. `At least I soon will have my much deserved revenge. It will all be worth it.' Maya selfishly thought.

 

~ With The Unknown Voice ~

 

The voice in the shadow dialed a number on their cell phone.

 

“Hello,” said a man.

 

“Our plan is underway. Make the necessary preparations,” the voice said.

 

“Yes Mistress Sakura. Right away,” he said and hung up.

 

Once hearing the dial tone, Sakura too flipped closed her phone. `Soon my project will be complete' she thought.

 

~ In Ami's Bedroom ~

 

Ami was frantically looking through her closet for something to wear. `It has to be perfect' she thought.

 

After trying on about fifty outfit combinations, she found the perfect one. Or one close enough. She decided on low rise faded jeans, a lilac purple halter top the said `Dancer' on it written in blue, dangling earrings with purple and blue music notes on them, and purple flip-flops. She put on light makeup and put her hair up into a half up, leaving out a few stray pieces of hair to frame her face.

 

Ami heard the doorbell and rushed to answer the door. When she opened the door, Kurama was standing there smiling at her. She smiled back.

 

`Wow he has wonderful eyes and he is handsome.' Ami thought. Kurama was wearing jeans with a blue Abercrombie and Fitch shirt under a black leather jacket.

 

“Are you ready to go?” he asked.

 

“Yeah just a minute,” she replied while she grabbed her cell phone and money and stuffed them into her back pocket. “Okay, I'm ready,”Ami said and walked outside to the car.

 

`She is gorgeous.'Kurama thought.

 

`No she is sexy.' countered yoko.

 

`Not now yoko.' Kurama replied as he followed Ami to the car.

 

“Where are the others?” she asked.

 

“They're going to meet us there, is that ok?” he said.

 

“Yeah. Oh, if you don't mind I asked a friend to meet us at the club, ok?”

 

“Yeah, that's fine,”

 

Kurama started the car and drove off toward the club.
