Hakida sat on Kurama's windowsill, he legs handing on the outside of the window as he tails swished on the floor of his room. Kurama sighed as he watched her, "No worries sister, Inari will call for you soon enough."

She sighed, not looking at him; "I was put here for a purpose, brother. I just don't know what that purpose is." She slumped, "I've been here for six months already; I'm missing home terribly!"

Kurama chuckled as he slipped on a shirt, "Have you talked to Hiei?"

She nodded, "Well, if you can call it talking. We just sit there…. She smiled, hiding it from her brother. : But that is what he needs, and I know that. :

"How many times have you seen him since you found out he was Mukuro's heir?"

She blushed, "Um… He has a tendency to come twice a week, although he's come three times a week every now and then."

Kurama chuckled, "Sister, I do believe I saw you blush!"

"I did not!" She shot form her seat and glared at him as she jumped to his bed. "I did not blush!"

Kurama laughed, "Do you like him, Hakida?"

"Kurama!" Her tails swished quickly in anger, "How dare you!" Just before she was going to pounce he ran out of the room and stuck his tongue out at the smoldering Hakida knowing she wouldn't venture out of his room and into the rest of the house. She glared at him and crossed her arms, "Fine!" she turned around and plopped down on the bed pouting; "I just won't follow you to school!"

He smiled, "Fine, I'll see you after school." With that he jogged down the hallway. She watched as he waved from the sidewalk outside, taunting her to follow him. "I won't give in that easily!" She yelled at him and plopped down on the bed angrily as she heard his laughter fade in the distance. "Me? How dare he laugh at me! I wasn't blushing! I had no reason to blush! Did I? Oh Kurama!" She fumed and crossed her arms, a scowl on her face.

"Why the lovely expression?" Hakida's head shot up quickly enough to pop her head off. "Don't do that. I'd hate to explain to Kurama why his sister's head is dislocated from her shoulders."

She growled, "Hiei… I thought I had closed that window."

"Hn." He knelt on the windowsill, one leg dangling. "Why were you blushing?" She jumped from her spot, whizzing past him as she sat on the branch outside Kurama's window. Hiei smirked, "Running from your problems?"

"There is not such thing in my life." Her golden eyes glared at him.

He titled his head, keeping his back to her, "You're abnormally irritable. Was it something Kurama said?"

She growled, "Of course not!" She heard him chuckle. : Chuckle? Hiei doesn't laugh! He's gone insane! Come to think of it… he's said more now than he's said since Inari's messenger brought me here. : "What so funny."

He titled his head back, looking at her upside down, "Are you sure you're not half human?"

She stood up fuming, "ME! I detest humans! To be of human blood would be… certain death! I am appalled at the question!" Hiei smiled and she fell back against the tree, "I don't see what's so amusing!"

He dug into his scarf and revealed an opened rose, "I kept it… it lived… and now it's opened."

She sunk to the branch huddling in a little ball, her tails curling around her legs, "H-Hiei… that rose…." She looked away. : I can't tell him… I know he doesn't know what it means… but… it can't lie. The rose… is it Mukuro? Or… Kurama? Or maybe even someone I have yet to meet. :

Hiei turned, facing her, "Kitsune." He waved the rose in front of her dazed eyes. "Kitsune!" He said louder, still not getting a response. "Hakida?" He smiled, as she seemed deep in thought. : Ah, Inari… you really did your best work on this one didn't you? She's beautiful, if possible even more so than Kurama in his Youko form. Everything she does calls to me… I wonder if she knows that she drives me crazy? It took only a month and a half of meeting with her to realize that I couldn't take my eyes from her. She occupies my thoughts at night, haunts me with her words, and caresses me with her golden eyes. Ah wishful thinking, Hiei… something so beautiful isn't for a Forbidden Child, just like it is with Yukina. But why does it have to be that way? Can't I start over and earn her love? Love…. Am I capable of such an emotion? I'm a capable of receiving such an emotion, am I even worthy of it? Of course I'm not… I have allowed myself to become close to something I cannot have… something forbidden me. : He looked up to notice Hakida was staring at him intently, "Hn." He squeaked past his dry throat. She burst into laughter almost falling from the branch. He growled warning, "Kitsune…."

She flew past him collapsing on the floor in laughter, "Hn… Hn!" She rolled on the floor laughing.

Hiei growled, "Stop laughing!"

She tried to stop but to no avail, "I-can't help-it!" She held her stomach as her face turned red.

Hiei let out a small cry and flung himself into the room pinning her down, his Katana at her throat. She smiled, her eyes laughing at him. He moved closer to her face, anger evident in his burning ruby eyes, "Kitsune, stop laughing!" He felt her tight muscles ease under him as she let out a long breath. It was then that he noticed how close their lips were, he felt a tingling go through him as he tensed more; his Katana slowly slicing through a small part of skin on her throat, her blood oozing onto the blade. She smiled at him again, not struggling against the searing blade or his bruising hold on her. He threw the Katana to the floor, letting his finger scoop a small bit of blood from her chin. "Hn…." He looked into her golden eyes, she had made no advancement toward him, and so in his anger he had attempted to cut her throat. That was his real reason behind the anger anyway, wasn't it? He cursed softly; only then noticing the rose has fallen to her neck as well, a small drop of blood on the petal. He whispered, "You're blood matches the red rose color."

She nodded, "So does Kurama's."

He swooped down, brushing his lips against hers, daring to do what was forbidden; she tensed then relaxed.

"Hakida! You haven't seen my homewo-" Kurama stopped, the door open, his mouth gaping. "Hiei? Hakida?"

Hiei blushed, picked up the rose, and exited the room quickly using the window. Hakida jumped up, swishing her tails angrily as she stared out of the window. Kurama cleared his throat; "Do I need to ask what happened?"

She growled, "He kissed me." She turned to him frustrated, "Kurama… I…." She sat on the bed; "I gave him a love flower."

"You did what?"

"He didn't know what it was and I didn't expect him to keep it."

"Well, nothing matters if it didn't bloom." She looked away and he tensed, "It hasn't bloomed has it?"

"Um… maybe." She smiled innocently up at him.

"Hakida! Why did you give it to him!"

"How was I supposed to know he had a heart!" She crossed her arms, "And like I said I didn't really expect him to keep the thing. I just thought he'd toss it like it was nothing."

"Hakida, you know the only way to destroy it."

She nodded and looked out of the window, "Can I figure out who it bloomed from though? I mean, obviously he loves someone, that's what the flower does… it magnifies love. So, can I please figure it out?"

"Hakida, this isn't a joke; you know what can happen."

She sighed and leaned back, "Yeah… I know… I just kind of hoped that he could overcome that, ya know? I mean, he's got a tough skin on him."

"When did you give it to him?"

"Um… four months ago."

Kurama shook his head; "It's take four months for it to take root and grow; there is no way he could withstand it much longer."

"But this Hiei might be fun."

"And highly oversensitive… you know that could mean life or death in a fight."

She nodded, "As soon as I find him I'll get it and destroy it."

Kurama smiled, "You have to let things work on their own; Hiei will let his feelings show eventually without a love flower." He smiled and glanced at his desk. "My homework!" He grabbed the paper and stuffed it in his backpack; "I'll be home after school." He waved and ran outside. Hakida sighed, her fingers absently going to her lips. :Oh Hiei… if it hadn't been the love flower I would have enjoyed that kiss. How I longed to have you do that… but I knew it would never happen. Perhaps it's just that I remind you of Kurama. : She sighed and looked at the window, "This is so unfair." She pounced from the window on a quest to find Hiei and destroy the flower.
