Hello Again
[...Hello again, why so old?,
Wasn't time your friend? I must be told
Hello again, it seems to long
Since we last met, how has it gone...]
Hiei’s POV
He stands there, some distance away--his feet planted strongly in the dirt. He eyes were focused, leaving
their imprint of me as I reached impulsively for my katana. There is no bigger frustration then when
locked in a duel, two opponents ready to strike--awaiting the favorable result. Just as it hit a stand-still,
his fingers open to reveal several small marbles scattered across his palm. Death will not have me so
quickly I’m afraid, and he will not get his way, no, not this time. His eyes glow with insanity as two
marbles come at me with blinding speed, one cutting me across the shoulder, the other, nearly striking my
left temple.
There is no need for hesitation now, I run at him, keeping my pace steady as he continues his
bombardment. I hastily dodge each projectile, and viciously tear at him with the blade of my katana. He
also manages to avoid each blow, narrowly, but effectively. Frustrated beads of sweat fall from my skin,
nearly blinding me as they enter my eyes with a slight burning sensation. Again I strike, and again he
dodges, it was as though he saw all my moves before their time...
[...Don't accept the blame, I would not complain,
'Cause i'm sure it wasn't your own fault
That you never made it out your vault
Just Lock the door, and find some time to scream
To scream again...]
This time, I strike, and cut through his clothing--and the upper layer of his flesh. Severing only small
veins, there is little blood spilled, just fragments that stain the very edge of my katana. His eyebrows
creased, his eyes reflecting unnerving emotion. It was apparent that he was afraid now, he had been so
confident in his success, that he failed to realize his error, which led to his newly born wound.
He jumps back again, propelling a dozen more bullets my way. Dodging a majority of them, and taking
few direct hits, I charge him again--my katana making a clean sweep through the skin on his chest. This
time, he takes the pain seriously. I watched him fall back, cowering like a child in the dark. His hands
wrapped around his chest wound, his eyes bulging from their sockets. Sweat poured down his face,
pummeling the earth in rather hesitant streams...
Sniper’s POV
I hear the ground shift--he’s coming. My head stays down, as I fell his shadow fall upon me. The katana
slowly rising above his head, he’s going to kill me. I hear the blade cleanly tear through the space around
my body, approaching me at nearly impossible speed...
[...Just say "when" and you'll stop the pain of your life,
Bring it to an end.
Just say "when" and you could make amends
Just say Hello, say Hello again...]
Hiei’s POV
I stopped. The point of the blade tickled the ridge of his spine, before I pulled it back. Placing my katana
back into its sheath, I look down at him--pity him. He’s cringing, as though waiting for me to finish him
off. I smell the sweat bubbling off his skin, the smell is faint--but it gives off the implication of fear. I
smiled vaguely, my arm reaching down, hand inviting him upward. He hesitates to take my offer, but
eventually, allows me to bring him to his feet.
He needs more practice, his fighting skills aren’t nearly as potent as they could be. My eyes cradled him,
and spoke these truths briefly. He’s still young, his youth is what holds him back. He brushed the sweat
from his brows, brushing his bangs from concealing his forehead. He gave a relieved sigh, and again
clutched his chest wound...
[...Hello Again, it's not that hard.
No Dead ends, even with the scars
Don't accept the blame, I would, I would not complain,
'Cause I'm sure it wasn't your own fault
That you never made it out your vault
Just lock the door, and find some time to scream...]
Sniper’s POV
I felt the pain tear through me, barreling into my body. My flesh torn and weary, the blood leaking and
burning. He had come so close to killing me, I just panicked. I’m foolish to believe he would slay me,
I’m too stupid to see he cares too much. I wish he cared more, cared for me in a different way--the way I
want him to. After believing the death of the human race was the only way I could be truly happy, my
outlook on life has changed, as well as how I see other people. I can say it to myself honestly, that I have
grown to love him, more than a mentor--more than a teacher, but as someone to spend my life with.
I’ve grown to accept my reputation as being a brutal person, my mind laced with insanity--my eyes burned
with my own self-hatred, but behind all that, I do have hope, I do feel compassion. I stared longingly into
Hiei’s eyes, making him turn his head away--giving out a slight “Hn.” as he always did...
[...Just say "when" and you'll stop the pain of your life,

Just say "when" and you could make amends
Just say Hello, say Hello again...]
Hiei’s POV
I still don’t understand why he looks at me that way, why his eyes are so burned with passion, with the
brilliance of fire. I have always ignored it, pretended like it had never existed. As I stood there, eyes
gazing far to my right, I could feel him advancing forward, what was he doing?
Sniper’s POV
I feel different now, slowly walking toward Hiei, my eyes still fixated on him with an undying affection.
Almost calling to him, then it happened--I slipped my palm under his chin, and pulled his head slightly to
the left, and tilting it on a higher angle. He stared at me with the utmost confusion, which only grew
deeper when my lips touched his...
[..You have no home, you lost your throne, where has it gone?,
Well it could all come back,
But you're being led by the walking dead,
You stumble and you cracked the ground,
You're pinned down...]
Hiei’s POV
What’s happening? His lips are tightly clenched in mine, and I’m tempted to return his affections. My
eyes slowly fluttered shut as I bestowed the kindness he rightly deserved...
....
As they two engaged in a passionate moment, the shadows lunged forward--claiming both in a torrent of
shadow, which tore them apart. Before long, both had perished, but the shadows had vacated--as though
they were never there. With the blood of two pasted against the earth, the one who caused this pain
stepped forward, and light fell upon him...
Standing there, was....
[...Just Say "when" you could stop the pain,
Just Say "when", and you could make amends
Just say hello, say Hello Again...]
....
Hiei shot up, waking from the nightmare that had encompassed his mind. Sweat rolled down his
forehead, dripping down upon the sheets he rested upon. To his left, was Sniper--sleeping soundly,
emitting rather muffled snores and grunts as he continued his slumber. Hiei’s eyes looked over,
reassuring himself his lover was still there, and not one of the dead as he dream implicated. Hiei was
beginning to have doubts, and hastily pinched his wrists to be sure he was awake. He let out a satisfied
“Hn.” and looked back down at Sniper, eyes widened, caressing the boy’s body with affection...
He was glad it had only occured within the confines of his thoughts...
[...Hello Again, Hello Again, Hello Again, Hello Again, Hello Again,
It's not the end if you just say hello again...]
