“What are we doing here, detective?” asked Hiei, impatiently drumming his fingers against his arm.

“You'll see in a second,” Yusuke replied, lacing his fingers behind his head. “So don't get your panties in a bunch.”

Hiei snorted and leaned up against one of the many booths. The shop they were in, `Dairy Queen' was decorated in the dull scheme of red, and white, though tabletops were black. A huge freezer full of ningen ice products, and a soda fountain lined the wall.

“May I take the next order?” asked the freckled cashier.

Yusuke sauntered up to the counter, glance over the menu, and then back to Hiei.

“Oi, runt! What do you want?”

“Hn.”

Yusuke rolled his eyes and looked back at the menu.

“Alright, I'll take two regular sized vanilla cones, chocolate dipped, please.”

“Okay, sir,” the cashier punched in several of the keys on the till.” That will be $3.53.”

The raven-haired teen grumbled and fished the money out of his wallet. He glanced back over to the smaller man, who was staring out the window; his usual scowl was replaced by an almost soft smile.

Moments later Yusuke was handed two choclated-covered cones.

“Here!”

Hiei looked over to see the young detective holding one of the cones out to him.

“What is it?” asked Hiei, curiously eyeing the cone.

`It's ice cream, come on, you'll like it,” Yusuke persuaded, waggling the cone in Hiei's face.

The small demon snatched the cone from Yusuke's pestering hand, and followed him out the door. There, Yusuke, chose to sit at one of the stone tables with an umbrella, hoping to shade them from the summer sun.

“Alright, let's eat!”

Hiei stared at the substance. First he sniffed it, licked it, and then bit into it.

“Gack! Its cold!”

“Yeah, ice cream usually is,” Yusuke sniggered, licking his own cone.

Hiei shot him a dirty look, and then mimicked Yusuke's action.

After he got past the temperature, Hiei began to enjoy the cold treat. Sweet, and creamy, the ice cream melted in his mouth, sliding over his tongue. The demon happily licked away, his tongue scooping the ice cream from its waffle cone.

The teen watched the petite demon lick the cone with interest. Hiei's small pink tongue slowly lapping up the vanilla ice cream, like a cat with milk. A drop of ice cream held at the corner of the dark haired demon.

Yusuke smiled. He stretched across the table towards Hiei. Hiei stopped licking his cone just when Yusuke's tongue flicked and gathered the drop at this mouth. Yusuke's mouth hovered over Hiei's for a second before pushing into a kiss.

At first Hiei stiffened in surprise, but he then returned the kiss of the teen. Yusuke pulled back, surprised Hiei had kissed him back.

Hiei licked his lips, and smiled.

“You taste like chocolate detective.”
