His Reasons to Live

"I'll take Hakuya to the infirmary...Angel make sure Yoshi is alright." Sesshomaru said as he walked away.

Angel saluted. "Yes, sir!" She then looked the other CEOs. "I'm sorry for the inconvience, but I guess the meeting is cut short. Now excuse us while we try to make sure our partner is alright."

Susa came running down the hall glaring at the door. "Nefertiri open the door."

"I can't, dad changed the override password and the regular codes are shot to hell." His sister replied.

"Fuckin' hell!" Susa said and slammed his foot into the metal door.

"Calm down...perhaps we can help you Angel-san?" Kurama said.

"I highly doubt it...." Hiei said.

"It is worth a try..." Kuwabara said looking at the door. Susa was kicking the door, causing it to dent slightly.

"Susa, calm down." Angel said walking to the young boy.

"No! He promised us. That bastard better be alive still!" Susa shouted glaring at the door. "Open it Nefertiri!"

"She's trying....Susa calm down." Angel said putting her hand on Susa's shoulder.

Susa turned and threw her hand off violently. "You are not my mother so stop acting like one!" At that Nefertiri stopped typing at her computer and looked at her brother.

"She's trying to help you." Kuwabara said glaring down at the mini Yusuke.

"I don't care! She's not my mother so she better stop acting like one." Susa growled.

"But I am Susa..." A voice said from behind Kurama and the others. They turned to see a woman with black hair and blue eyes.

"Daibo-chan..." Nefertiri said looking at the woman. The woman wordlessly passed the three men and went to Angel. "Daibo-chan, Tou-san's inside..."

"It's alright." The woman said. She put a hand on Susa's head and leaned down to look into his eyes. "He'll be okay. But for now, calm down."

"Kagome-chan, are sure?" Angel asked.

"Positive...but where is Hakuya-chan?" Kagome asked worriedly.

"Nishimori-san took the young girl to the infirmary. She was stuck in one of the VR pods." Kurama said. Kagome nodded and looked down at the children.

"What happened?" She asked.

"Nick trapped the computer, Yoshi went in the room to save Haku-chan while Nefertiri and Susa spammed the outside help. Nick got away though." Angel explained.

"I wouldn't say that...I saw Bankotsu fighting a guy outside." Kagome said. She turned to the door though and tapped her chin. "The override won't work?"
"No..." Nefertiri said.

"Dad changed it...the jerk." Susa spatted. Kagome thought to herself then glanced at Kuwabara and smiled.

"Nefertiri...try this...User: Gohatta Password: Kirara...." She said. Nefertiri nodded slowly and typed it in. When she hit enter the door hissed open and smoke spilled out into the hallway. It soon cleared out and reveal the room. The pods where blown and the bullet proof glass shattered. Scorch marks were everywhere.

"Where's dad...." Nefertiri's voice trembled as she stood up. "Daddy?" She called hesitantly.

Kagome carelessly walked into the room and looked into the computer room. She glanced around before smiling. She walked back out and looked at the ceiling. She found what she was looking for and pushed Hiei and Kurama out from under it. "Guys....do a count down for me."
"Why?" Susa asked.

"Just do it..." Kagome said glaring.

"Five...four..." Nefertiri started hesitantly.

"Three, two....one." Angel finished.

The ventilation screen dropped down in front of Kagome. A small ball of dust dropped onto the carpet and mewed, before coughing.

"Kirara!" Neferitir said looking at the dusty cat.

"Where's dad?" Susa asked. Kirara looked up and jumped onto Kagome's head, then to Kuwabara's, before jumping back into the vent.

"Where's she going?" Kuwabara asked.

"Probably to Yoshi...he knows the vents like the back of his hand." Angel replied.

Kirara mewed from the vent causing everyone to look up and see. She held a ring in her mouth and waved it slightly before dropping it. Kagome caught it and stared. She put it one and looked at the three men. "Would one of you mind giving me a boost?"

"Sure...." Kurama stepped forward. He lifted Kagome onto his shoulders allowing her to step on them and look into the vent.

"Oh god..." Kagome said. "Angel go get me bandages and something to clean his wounds." Angel nodded and rushed off.

"What happened to daddy?" Nefertiri asked. Kagome lifted herself into the vent and looked down at them.

"The glass from the explosion must of got him as he was escaping." She said before turning. They heard someone sliding and a grunt.

"Take it easy...."

"Well sorry..." Kagome huffed.

"Ri...Susa, you guys alright?" Yusuke asked.

"Hai..." They both answered.

"Hakuya?"

"In the infirmary dad with Uncle Sho." Susa said.

"Good...." Yusuke replied. "The others still here?"

Kagome voiced carried. "Yea, yuushi (1) they are still here." Yusuke hummed. "Nefertiri....call Sho and tell him to get back up here." Kagome sounded slightly panicked.

"What's wrong?" Hiei asked.

"I don't know, he closed his eyes. Yoshi won't respond..."

Nefertiri nodded and called Sesshomaru over the headphones. As they waited they heard Kirara mewing. "Is she trying to wake dad?"

"Yea...it's not working..." Kagome said.

"Guys!" Angel said as she ran down the hallway. Sesshomaru was right behind her along with her fiance, Hagiri.

"Hagiri-kun!" Nefertiri said. Hagiri nodded.

"Hey...Kagome, Kyou is with Hakuya...what do you need?" Sesshomaru asked.

"The medical supplies." Kagome replied. Kirara mewed.

"Kurama, Hiei look...." Kuwabrara pointed to the vent as blood dripped from it.

"Hey hon, let me up on your shoulders." Angel said. Hagiri nodded and knelt down. Angel got onto his shoulders with Sesshomaru's help. Hagiri stood up, allowing Angel to see into the vent. "Oh god...here." She gave Kagome the supplies and helped where she could.

"Is he alright?" Kuwabara asked.

"Hagiri give me your jacket." Angel said.

"Geez, could have requested that before you got on my shoulders." Hagiri said.

Angel kicked him in the side of the head. "Shut up and do it." Hagiri huffed and manuvered so he got his jacket off and tossed it up to Angel. "Thanks dear..." She smiled and handed it to Kagome.

Kurama and Hiei glared at Hagiri. He didn't pay any mind to them. He was more worried about Yusuke then about the Reikai Tantei taking him in. Not like Angel would allow them. He looked up slightly. "Angel, how is he?" He got kicked in the head again.

"Don't look up my skirt," She replied hotly. "And his eye is bleeding, Kagome's got it wrapped though. His chest and arm were bleeding but she got those too." When Angel said Kagome got them, she assumed that Kagome used a bit of her miko powers to heal him.

"How are you getting him down?" Hiei asked.

"I'm going to ease him down head first," Kagome said popping her head into view. "Susa, Nefertiri. I want you two to go to Kyou and tell him to get a bed ready for Yoshi in the infirmary."

"Alright Daibo-chan...." Nefertiri stood and ran off. Susa lingered.

"Take care of dad alright?" Susa said.

Kagome smiled and winked. "Always...now go and take the labtop with you." Susa nodded and did as he was told. "Now Angel, I need you to stay there so you can ease him to the guys alright?"

"Got it!" Angel smiled.

"Can you guys handle it?" Kagome looked at Kuwabara, Hiei, and Kurama.

"Yes," Kurama answered. Hiei nodded.

"Yea..." Kuwabara said. Kagome nodded and disappeared again. She slowly got Yusuke out of the vent and eased him to Angel.

"Don't touch Kirara, she'll bit your head off if you try to remove her from him." Kagome warned as she saw their questionable looks at the small kitten that was attached to Yusuke's jacket covered bandaged chest. The small kitten had her own bandages as well, but paid no mind.

"Easy now..." Sesshomaru murmured as Kuwabara and Kurama grabbed Yusuke's shoulders. They eased him away from Angel allowing Hiei to grab his legs and gentle set him on the ground.

Angel jumped off of Hagiri's shoulders and went to Yusuke. Sesshomaru reached his arms up and caught Kagome as she slipped out of the vent. She was bloody but it was ignored. "Alright, we have to get him to the infirmary now." Kagome commanded. "Angel, you should probably go inform the security crew about this mishap and find Bankotsu." Angel just nodded, knowing not to agrue with this woman. "Hagiri go with her."
"Right..." Hagiri replied. Angel put a hand on Kagome's shoulder before leaving with her fiance.

"So how will we get him to the infirmary?" Kuwabara asked.

"Someone will have to carry him." Kurama answered. Sesshomaru ignored them and walked to the injuried man. He knelt down and pulled Yusuke into his arm. Kirara hissed at Sesshomaru, only to be quieted by his glare. The inu-youkai in disguise gracefully stood and headed down the hallway.

"Thanks for volunteering Sho..." Kagome said following him. The three tantei looked at each other.

"Was that Hagiri?" Kuwabara asked.

"Yep..." Kurama replied.

"Did that boy look exactly like Yusuke?" He asked again.

"Yes I do believe he did." The kitsune answered.

"Then I guess we should follow them and find out the truth about this."

"Oh shut up and lets go!" Hiei growled and followed the woman that was far ahead of them.

"He'll be fine, we got all the glass out and it appears he avoid the worst of it." The Doctor in the infirmary said. "Kirara only had a few cuts and bruises, but other than that she's healthy. Won't leave his side though." The doctor chuckled.

"Thank you Suikotsu..." Kagome replied and bowed.

"Anytime Kagome...Hakuya is with Jankotsu and the twins if you want to see her." Suikotsu replied.

"Can you send them into this room? I'm sure they would want to know how he's doing." Kagome said.

"As you wish." Suikotsu bowed to the occupants of the room and left. Kagome sat beside Yusuke and smiled.
"Always attracting trouble..."

Outside the room Sesshomaru was talking with the Reikai tantei. Inuyasha was with him figuring out things. They agreed to sign as soon as Yusuke was able to.

"Are you sure he'll be fine?" Kurama asked.

"Yes, we have the best doctors availiable. Suikotsu, our top doctor, has checked him out and deemed everything alright." Sesshomaru stated. "Now if you will, I must attend to this matter with Angel, if you need anything ask Kyou." With that Sesshomaru left to settle matters.

"He doesn't seem all that concerned about his partner." Hiei said.

"Perhaps he knows there is nothing more he can do." Kurama said.

Kuwabara was strangely silent as he thought about something. That kid...he was so much like Yusuke. Kuwabara didn't even detect a spirit energy signature from those two kids. Something weird is going on...

"Yo, if you don't move I'll make you." A voice said from behind Kuwabara. Kuwabara turned to see a man a bluish tattoo cross on his forehead. The stranger had black hair pulled back into a long braid that went to his calves. He wore a pair of blue jeans, a red t-shit, and a white vest. His hands were encased in fingerless black gloves, they looked like fighting gloves.

"Who the hell are you?" Kuwabara asked.

"Bankotsu-kun! Can we visit daifu-kun?" A young voice asked. The girl known as Hakuya stood behind Bankotsu with Nefertiri and Susa.

"Come on Hakuya," Nefertiri took her hand and led her into the room. They left the door open so the others could see. Inside, Kagome was talking with Yusuke. Yusuke's eye bandage covered most of his face. He had a shirt on, but it was unbuttoned. Kirara was sitting on Yusuke's head.

"Daifu-kun!" Hakuya squealed and ran to the bed. She jumped on and hugged the ignored man.

"Whoa there....who let you out?" Yusuke smiled at the young girl.

"Kyou had to leave with Sho, so I let them in." Bankotsu said walking into the room with Susa and the others behind him. "So hero, what was today's adventure?"

"Shut up...." Yusuke murmured as he looked back to the little girl in his lap. He began to bounce her on his lap smiling. "You guys okay?" He asked looked at his children.

"Gave me a heart attack..." Nefertiri murmured standing behind Kagome.

"What about you Susa?" Yusuke asked looking at his son.

"I'll fucking kill you myself next time for doing something so stupid." Susa said and crossed his arms.

Yusuke looked at Bankotsu. "Would you do the honors Bankotsu?"

"My pleasure...." The man whacked Susa upside the head. "How many times to you have to get hit for your language?"

"I don't know you tell me!" Susa glared at Bankotsu.

Hakuya laughed and stayed in Yusuke's lap as she looked at the three strangers. "Mama, who are they?" She asked pointing at them.

Kagome smiled. "They are your daifu-kun's business associates."

Hakuya frowned slightly and tapped Yusuke's shoulder and motioned him to lean down. Everyone blinked as Yusuke leaned down and Hakuya whispered into his ear. Kirara jumped down from Yusuke's head and looked at them. Yusuke nodded and put a finger to his lips and winked.

"Mums the word Hakuya."

"'Kay!" She smiled and looked at the three again. Kirara jumped into her lap and purred as the young girl began to pet her. "So what are your names?" She asked. "Mine's Hakuya Higurashi!"

"Well I'm Kazuma Kuwabara." Kuwabara said with a small smile. The girl and the kitten made a cute picture, he thought.

"My name is Shuiichi Minamino...." The red haired man said stepping forward. He smiled and reached into his jacket. Kirara immediately started to growl in defense. Yusuke put a hand on Kirara's head, calming her instantly. Hakuya watched as Kurama pulled out a white rose and handed to her. "A present for the little girl." Hakuya looked up at Yusuke, who nodded, before taking the rose.

"Thank you Minamino-san." She smiled and smelt the rose.

"You're welcome..." He replied. He then looked at Hiei. "Oh, this is Hiei Jaganshi. We are here to help your daifu's company."

"That's good...daifu-kun needs help. He works too much." Hakuya replied.

Bankotsu laughed and nodded. "You tell 'em Haku-chan!" Yusuke and Kagome smiled at the little girl.

"So Bankotsu where did Nick go?" Nefertiri asked.

"I left him with Kyou..." Bankotsu smirked. Susa and Yusuke narrowed their eyes simultanously.

Kagome frowned and stood when Yusuke began to get off the bed. He had moved Hakuya to the side and tried to get off the bed. She put hands to his shoulders uselessly as he started to walk to the door. Susa was close behind with an angry expression.

"Bankotsu tell him he can't! He's injured!" Kagome said. Nefertiri frowned and sat by Hakuya and Kirara.

"He won't listen Kagome, you know it. I know it." Bankotsu said sighing.

Hiei walked in front of Yusuke intending to stop both of the dark haired men. Susa growled at Hiei as Yusuke just scowled.

"Move Jaganshi-san, my son and I have things to finish." Yusuke replied somewhat calmly.

"Utada-san you are injured and your son is too blindly by anger. Sit down with your family and goddaughter and rest." Hiei commanded shortly. Susa snorted and pushed his way around his father and looked eye to eye with Hiei.

"Listen shortie, you may be a high executive but you are not one in this building. So I suggest you shut the hell up and move out of the way and let us get on with our business." Susa replied.

Kuwabara frowned at Susa. He not only looked like Yusuke, he had Yusuke's attitude. Kuwabara started to wonder about his old friend and where he was now. It made him think of Keiko. The last time he talked to Keiko, it was before she claimed that she was pregnant. After that, she disappeared. Kuwabara didn't know if her children made it or who the father was. He assumed the father was Yusuke....perhaps...His eyes widened. "Yusuke?" He murmured out loud. He watched as nearly everyone in the room tensed up and snapped their heads toward him.

"What did you just say?" Kagome asked quietly.

"Yusuke....Yusuke Urameshi. He's a friend of mine that disappeared a few years ago." Kuwabara said. "Susa looks a lot like him."

"He was a friend of all of us. We do not know what happened to him or if he is still alive," Added Kurama as he looked down.

Kagome and Bankotsu looked toward Yusuke as he watched them. Nefertiri was biting her lip as Hakuya looked confused. Susa just stayed by his father's side with a frown on his face. Fearing that Yusuke was freezing up, she started to move toward Yusuke, but stopped when he spoke.

"Yusuke Urameshi....died sixteen years ago." Hiei, Kurama, and Kuwabara looked at him.

"How would you know?" Kuwabara asked.

"Because I was entrusted to watch over his mother for him." Yusuke replied. "Now if you will excuse us...."

"May I ask something before you leave Utada-san?" Kurama asked.

"If you wish." He stated not looking at Kurama.

"Where did you get that scar over your heart?" The kitsune in disguise asked mysteriously.

Kagome mentally smacked herself. She should have covered Yusuke's chest better. This was going to be a dosey to get over.

"I was cornered by gang thugs and stabbed. Would you like to know anything else?" Yusuke snapped out. He was getting annoyed with all these delays. They shook their heads.

"Finally!" Susa said. Both men left the infirmary leaving worrying people in their wake.

"Well, that was rude." Kuwabara said.

"Gomen..." Nefertiri said. She bowed to them in apology for Susa and Yusuke. "My father is very touchy about his scars."

"It is quite alright...I'm sure he has good reason to be." Kurama said. "I suppose we should leave and come another time."

"Thank you for coming to the meeting today. I will have Nishimori-san schedule another to finish today's." Nefertiri replied.

"Hm..." Hiei said nodding.

Kagome smiled slightly and looked at Bankotsu. "Watch over Hakuya and Nefertiri, I will led these men out."

"Alright Kag." Bankotsu said. He turned and jumped onto the bed with Hakuya.

"Yay! Uncle Banko-kun!" The little girl giggled. Nefertiri smiled and walked over to them.

"Shall we?" Kagome asked. She turned and led them out. They followed obediently. Taking them into the elevator at the end of the hall she pressed the button for the lobby once everyone was in.

"Kagome-san...." Kurama murmured. "You are that miko from a couple years ago."

"How astute of you to remember," Kagome said.

"What are you doing here?" Hiei asked glaring at Kagome.

"I'm a friend of Sho's. So he allows me to bring my daughter over to try out Yoshi's games." She replied as the elevator hit the lobby. "Here we are." The doors opened and she turned to them. "Good day gentleman...or should I said youkai?" As they walked out, Kurama and Hiei tensed slightly as she said that. It was a known fact since the Feudal Era that Mikos could purify demons with just a thought. Kagome smiled. "Do not worry, I won't purify you unless you harm my friends or family. Now goodbye." The door slid closed leaving the three Spirit Detectives to ponder.

"I think they are hiding something." Kuwabara said.

"It deals with the Utada man." Hiei said. "That scar was too small to be a stab wound. Perhaps a demon that pierced his heart."

"Wouldn't that be where Yusuke's wound would be from Sensui?" Kurama whispered as they walked out of the building. "And Utada's son looking like Yusuke...."

"You don't think that Yusuke had children?" Kuwabara asked looking at Kurama. "I mean the girl did kind of look liked Keiko...."

"Her eyes were like the woman's." Hiei said.

"I think it is time to visit Koenma again."
