Chapter 4-Title Name: Chise's Introduction

"That was really close you know, Kurama-kun." Botan said to Kurama when they were in their seats.

Kurama, thankfully, had an empty seat next to him, so he told Botan to sit next to him, which she gladly agreed.

"I know what you mean." Kurama replied.

They both didn't notice that everyone in the classroom was staring at them, while they were chatted quietly.

-/-Conversations outside Botan and Kurama-\-

"Are you sure that's Kurama-kun? He usually walks with Hiei to the classroom." a girl said, named Keiko (she's already Kurama's friend and also dating Yuseke already.).

"Omigod! Is that Kurama-kun with another girl?! I thought Midori said that he was hers!" a friend of Mirdori's, Aimi, exclaimed (I'm making Aimi a decent person.)

"I know." her boyfriend, Yukito, said.

"I knew Botan liked him." Chise said, with stars in her eyes.

"Hn. You sure your friend should like him?"

~*~Chise POV~*~

"I knew Botan liked him." I said. Then I heard a voice say

"Hn. You sure your friend should like him?" Behind me.

I turned around and saw a guy with spiked black hair with red eyes, and was about a few inches taller than me. I didn't understand what he meant about what he said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

He looked at me.

"You're new here, huh?" he asked.

His question startled me. No one really bothered about asking me.

"Yeah, I am." I replied.

"Then I expect you to not know about Kurama's reputation."

I looked at him and saw that he was looking at Botan and Kurama. I didn't know what Kurama's rep was.

"So…what's his reputation?" a part of me said I don't wanna know and another part said I have to know.

"His reputation is to be known as the biggest playboy in this whole school. He's reputation and mines are about the same."

"So, all your friend's reputation is about the same?"

"I guess you can say that, but I don't know about Kuwabara (sorry Kuwabara fans!).

It took me a while to have this information sink this in. If he's a playboy, does that make Botan have a chance of getting hurt? Jealous? PSYCHOTIC? Or even suicidal. I might also be getting a little paranoid.

Finally the teacher came in. Everyone stood up and bowed. "Ohayo gozaimasu sensei."

"Ohayo gozaimasu minna. I hope you all had a great summer," she said cheerfully. When everyone took their seats, she resumed talking. "I hope to know all of you by the end of this week, so I'll assign an essay for you to do. I want you to write at least a page of your personality, life, etc." she beamed when she heard a lot of people groan.

"This is not how I want to start my school year." Botan complained. Kurama just chuckled.

"Well, anyways, let's start our lesson now, alright?" She said then went on with the lesson while Kurama was spacing out.

About 20 minutes later, his name was being called out. He didn't speak so the teacher said it a little louder. No avail. So Botan poked him. Then she punched him hard on the arm and he snapped out of it. He glared at Botan and she pointed to the teacher. He looked turned his head slowly to the teacher.

~*~Kurama POV~*~

I was having a really good daydream when someone punched me. I looked and saw that it was Botan of all people punched me. I glared at her and she pointed to the front of the room. I looked and saw that the teacher was glaring at me (I don't know much high school history sry. I'm going to get something out from an anime.).

"Will you tell me in what year was the Meiji era started? (GO KENSHIN…I don't like social studies, so I don't know much.)"

"Around the 1800's. Are we reviewing our lessons from last year?" I asked. I knew that question since last year.

"Yes we are. Minnamo-San. I expect you to pay attention." she glared. I felt ashamed. I stood up.

"Gomen nasai Daidoji-Sensei." I said bowing low.

I saw her sigh.

"Hai, Hai. You may sit down now. "

"Arigato." then I sat down. My mother taught me great manners, so I have to be like that.

Then she drowned on about the history lesson again.

After 3 more classes, it was time for her lunch.

"Ja Chise," Botan said.

"Ja ne Botan-Chan." then they split up, walking different ways.

Chise went into the lunchroom and went straight to the lunch line. After she got it, she had to look for a place to sit. She then saw an empty table and went to sit there. Without Botan, she didn't know anyone in this school.

"Ohayo!" someone said cheerfully.

She looked up and saw a girl with auburn hair and brownish/reddish eyes.

"Ohayo?" she replied, uncertainly.

"You know, you look kinda lonely sitting here alone. Mind if I sit here? There are no more tables," she said.

Chise looked around and saw that it was true; she couldn't see any open tables.

"Sure, I was getting kind of lonely anyways." Chise said.

"Do you know anyone in this school?" the girl asked suddenly.

"Um…yeah, my best friend Botan, but she doesn't have lunch period with me. She has it for next period."

"Oh."

The girl then took a seat next to Chise.

"Well, my name is Yamasaki, Akemi. Nice to meet you." Akemi said.

"My names Mikage, Chise. Nice to meet you, too." Chise said.

"Hey Akemi." a girl said with blue hair and reddish/brownish eyes.

"This is Yukari, Yukari, this is Chise." Akemi introduced.

"Keiko, Yukina, and the guys are coming soon." Yukari said.

"Oh, Ok. Sure, I wanna introduce them to Chise anyways."

"Um…you don't have to do that Yamasaki-sama." Chise said.

"How come?" Akemi asked, slightly confused.

"I…I don't want to be a burden."

Akemi giggled.

"It's no problem, plus, I want to introduce you t my friends, I mean if you don't mind. I just think that, one friend isn't enough anyways." Akemi said.

"Um, ok…if you say so then." Chise said.

Then a few people started to go over to Akemi, Chise, and Yukari.

"Hey you guys." Yukari said, then immediately attached herself on a guy with reddish hair and orangish eyes.

"Hey," the guy said.

"I want to introduce you to someone." Akemi said. "Guys, this is Mikage, Chise. Chise this is Koji, Yuseke, Kuwabara, Yukina, Keiko, and this-" she pointed at the guy with brownish hair, brown eyes, and glasses that Chise totally admired. "-is Shuji."

~*~Chise POV~*~

Now I know his name and I might not have to go up to him and ask him. I hope so. If I had to, I'd be really embarrassed.

"Nice to meet you all." I said shyly and quickly looked down.

"Same here." they all chorused.

They all sat down, and then they started to talk about stuff while I felt like an outcast. I'm a new girl, have someone I like and I now know names of people I barely even know. *sigh*

I ate my lunch silently, while listening to their conversation.

"Hey Chise you ok?"

My head shot up and I saw Akemi look at me. I flushed in embarrassment.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I think I'll go now." I said quickly, stood up with my tray, then went and dumped it rushing out quickly.

I don't know why I did that, but I felt really nervous without Botan with me. I now know how she feels around others…Insecure….
