Chapter15- Once Called Home Part2
Last Time: (Summarized Version) - Yukina woke up one week ago. The guys were allowed to take them home now, but they didn't tell the girls just yet, for they were scared how the girls would react to going home. Today was the day they were leaving, and today is the day that they decided to tell the girls...
Now: The girls were currently in their assigned beds, confined there. Now, not confined by doctors orders, but confined there due to the fear and distrust they now contain for others. Kurama was holding Sapphire's one hand, while Hiei was holding Yukina's. Kuwabara held onto Botan's, for some reason she only seemed to have a somewhat connection with him. Yusuke was holding Keiko's hand, looking at the others, all while checking back and looking at her to see her calm, sleeping, slightly bruised face.
All of the girls were asleep, so the guys thought it was the right time to discuss on how to tell the girls they were going home. "I think we should just come straight out and say it." Yusuke offered his two-cents. "No, I think we should kind of ease them into the... conversation of home. Then we should break the ice and tell them that we are going home today." Kurama suggested. The others nodded. “Hn. Fine then, but you are doing the talking due to the fact you are better at weaning your way in conversation than anyone else here." Hiei said quietly while looking back and forth toward his cousin, sister, and the love of his life.
An hour later of full silence, the girls woke up slowly, very vigilant and distrustful. The guys were used to this... scanning process. The girls would wake up startled, rapidly look around like a wild dog and then calm down and just stare with those empty eyes that could tell you a sad story if you look in them long enough.
"So," Kurama's delicate, soft voice floated throughout the room, "how was your rest?" Seeing as how the girls heeded no attempt to reply, he continued on. "I was watching TV before and saw Trading Spaces and saw some nice designs we could do to the house," he paused, then continued, "It looked really nice. Make the home look more comfortable, and painting it could be fun. I also saw some things we could do, and stuff." Kurama was just winging it. He decided to drop that part, due to the fact that every time he mentioned the word 'home', they flinched. And by telling from the reactions from the other guys, he wasn't the only one who noticed.
"Speaking of home, the doctors say that you all are able to go home. They said that we could take you home today. Isn't that... great?" Kurama stated the last part softer than normal. Besides him, Hiei saw the small tear that escaped Yukina's crimson pain filled orbs. The white tear gem stone fell silently onto her white bed sheet.
The others weren't exactly thrilled either. Keiko and Botan's eyes were clouded with fear, and tears were shed. Sapphire, though, was sitting up, resting against the headboard. Her face showed nothing. But then all too soon changed while they [the guys] realized it just dawned on her that they were going home. Tears of blue topaz came cascading down, mimicking a waterfall. Gracefully, the tears landed softly around her, and in her lap. She immediately took her covers and pulled them over her head, while she went back onto her back, but underneath the covers. (I hope you got that. She is lying down with the covers covering her, head to toe.) Her sobs were clearly heard. Next came Yukina, and then Keiko followed by Botan. The guys sighed, expecting them to react badly, but not like this.
Ok, I am sorry, again, this was short. Please forgive me.
