Ok… This will be Part three and the last chapter. I know I took this off of ff.net, but I needed the time to write this and stuff. This will most likely be short to medium sized.

 

How the Heart Breaks

Chapter18: At Home Part3- The End

 

Last time was about the emotional struggle with the boys.

 

Now: It had been three long months after what had happened. Yukina had nightmare problems, Keiko and Botan would flinch at fast movements and Sapphire, if she wasn't kept busy, she would get lost in thought and start crying. The worst part was the guys couldn't get any closer than three inches away. The girls had bags underneath their eyes from lack of sleep, and they weren't exactly healthy either. They also had to see a shrink.

 

Sapphire had started to cut herself, so they moved her into Kurama's room so he could have a close eye on her. Keiko and Botan would usually huddle up close to each other on one side of the couch. And Yukina always, out of fear, stay close by to Kuwabara or Hiei. And since she always felt dirty, whenever she was in the shower, she would scrub so hard that her skin would become red, and she even broken the skin once or twice.

The girls were always so alert and vigilant. They had become the lightest of sleepers, that if a pin would drop three blocks away, they would hear it. They hated loud noises and they didn't watch TV because of what is on; violence, sex, drug/ alcohol abuse, rape, murders, etc.

 

Kuwabara thought he was going to go crazy. The only time when Yukina's voice would be heard was when she was screaming in the night from night terrors. She didn't laugh anymore; she didn't even try to hitch a beautiful, drop dead-gorgeous smile of hers. He couldn't even keep his arm around her without her flinching.

 

The other guys were feeling the exact same thing, except it was towards their beloved. Everything was a mess. They just hope, that someday, before it is too late, that the girls would trust them again…

 

The guys were currently sitting on the couch with the girls. Yukina and Botan were in the middle of Hiei and Kuwabara. Keiko and Sapphire were in the middle of Yusuke and Kurama. All of the girls, thankfully, were asleep. Koenma had officially taken the guys off of doing other missions. Their only sole priority was keeping the girls safe ant to be on a look-out for Dean, Nikki, and Alex.

 

The guys were close to dozing off too. There was nothing good to watch on the television and it was driving them mad. Yusuke yawned. Then he and the other guys jumped. Koenma had just spoofed into their living room. He hadn't done that in a long while.

 

“Boys, I suggest you come to Spirit World, oh, and bring the girls. I have some information on You-Know-Who's whereabouts,” Koenma spoke sternly and gestured to a blue portal.

 

The boys carefully picked up their still-sleeping girls, and carefully walked into the portal.

 

As soon as they walked into that portal and were in Spirit World, the girls had woken up. “Kuwi- What are we doing here?” Yukina softly asked. Her eyes were trying to adjust, and her eyes were glazed with tiredness and sleepiness. “We are here, because Koenma has something to tell me and the boys,” Kuwabara softly said. He kissed her forehead, happy she didn't move away, but instead she gave a small smile and quickly nuzzled her head against his clothed chest.

 

“Well, actually Kuwabara, this news is for everyone to hear. Some of the ogres working here had found odd demon energy in the northern region of the Makai. So, we instead of bothering you guys, we sent out our next top ranking Spirit Detective Team to investigate,” Koenma took a deep breath while glancing at them all before continuing, “and they found Dean, Nikki, and Alex raiding some homes. The team fought, and they succeeded.”

 

“And…” Was all that was said.

“AND, Dean, Alex, and Nikki are dead. They are gone. There is not going to be anymore trouble from them. If you don't believe me, then look at the recent records of missions solved. Your case, well your old case, has been solved and taken care of,” Koenma then made a portal and pushed the guys out.

 

“Do you think he could've been ruder towards the end?” Kurama concluded.

 

Two months later

 

“This sucks! Yukina! Sapphire cheated, and Jello and Pyro ate my pie!” Complained a very whiny Sneak. A girl with turquoise hair came out of the kitchen wearing a pink knee length skirt and a white blouse. She was smiling and laughed, “Come on, play nice! I'm trying to wash the dishes! You all just wait `till the boys come home! They won't be too happy if I'm stressed out.”

 

That's when four boys came home. Their clothes were torn in some places and they were dirty. “HAHA! You look skuzzy!!!!” Sapphire exclaimed while throwing her cards on the foldable table. “Gee, thanks! Now, tell me why I love you again?” was all Kurama replied with. “You love me because Yukina-chan says you have to,” Sapphire's dumb reply came. And with that she got up and hugged her love.

 

`Everything is going to be okay again.' That was Sapphire's last thought before she kissed her protector- her love. She smiled and looked into those emerald eyes and she just knew, just knew, that life was going to be easier and that everything was okay now.
