Sorry for any mistakes guys. I've never posted on this site before so I'm still figuring out how to post and edit. Now on to the story!!!!

Hiei landed on a tree and started to sniff the air. He's been here. He jumped down from the tree and followed the trail. The Fox was careless. This is going to be easy, he thought with a wicked grin on his face. He followed the trail down hill and found the spot where Kurama had fallen. Hiei examined the area, sensing the fear; he knew the tracks where fresh. He's very close. Hiei suppressed his youki and stalked the trail hoping his prey would be just around the corner.

Kurama woke to Yoko yelling at him inside his head. *Wake up, baka! He's getting closer. He must have found our trail.* Kurama's eyes snapped open, his heart started pounding in his chest. He checked himself quickly, learning that his muscles still ached from his run and his dry mouth felt like there was sand in it. He tried to get up only to feel his legs burn and shake weakly under him. *Stay still. Don't make a sound. He may not find us.* Even with his Jagan? Yoko was silent. Kurama positioned himself, ready to attack if Hiei found him. His youki had recovered some, but not enough for a fight with his exhausted body. If Hiei found him, he would have to run again and find somewhere else to recover. His mind was racing trying to think of a plan when he started to feel uneasy. Here he comes. Kurama held his breath as he heard Hiei stop outside of the little cave. Hiei closed his eyes and the glow of his Jagan intensified. Suddenly Hiei disappeared. “He's found us!!” both Kurama and Yoko thought in unison as the stone above Kurama shattered. Kurama leaped forward, spinning in the air to confront his attacker.

“Hiei! Please stop this!” All Kurama got in response was a snarling growl and Hiei rushed at him. Kurama call his rose whip and caught Hiei's sword, throwing them both off balance. Hiei used his black flame to untangle his sword from the whip and attacked again. Kurama sent his youki towards the ground causing the grass to spring up, making it cocoon of spears around Kurama. Hiei twisted in the air to prevent from being squared, roaring in fury as he landed on his feet. He threw his flame at Kurama reducing his cocoon to ash. Kurama screamed as the intense heat surround him burned his exposed skin. As he fell to the ground he saw some of his skin was peeling from the burn. Kurama laid on the ground trying to recover from the pain while Hiei took slow, deliberate steps towards him, his laughter proved his insanity. “Your mine now Fox,” Hiei said in a rasping voice full of excitement.

Kurama's mind raced as he approached. “Hiei if you calm down, I won't run. I want to talk to you.”

“I am calm Kurama….. now that I've got you.” Hiei's eyes flashed blood red and his maniac laughter started again.
Kurama backed away, his mind going faster than he could comprehend. *Don't make any sudden moves. Let him think he has you and when gets too close to dodge, attack!!* Kurama lay still on the ground letting Hiei get close. “Hiei, please! I know what you want and I'll give it to you willingly if you talk to me.” Hiei paused for a minute. He submitted!! Now he's mine! But just to make sure, I'll let him distract himself talking. With an evil smirk he replied. “You want to talk? Fine. What is it you want to talk about?” Hiei stood a foot away from him and bent down closer slowly. “Well, um… I…” and Kurama's vines jumped forward engulfing the koorime as Kurama leaped to his feet running. The vines held Hiei tight, but the youkai was infuriated and sent his flame out wildly burning everything near him. Kurama stumbled forward from the force of the blast and ran faster. Hiei roared behind him giving chase once more. Kurama barely had time to dodge as he felt a ball of flame hurled at him. Kurama ran low to the ground, trying to keep covered with the vegetation while Hiei bounded from one tree to another attacking him. One of Hiei's attack hit Kurama in the leg, sending him to the ground with a scream of pain. Hiei jump down on Kurama just missing him as Kurama ignored the pain and lunged forward again into the bushes. Hiei jumped back into the tree leaping from one branch to the next trying to catch sight of Kurama again.

-_-_-

Kurama ignored the pain in his leg and lunged forward again into the bushes. Just as the branch swung behind Kurama, the ground gave way under his feet, stunning him as he hit the ground. Kurama picked him self up and found he had fallen into a dried up underground river. The thick growth above had covered him as Hiei chased after him. *This is pure dumb luck!!* Thank Inari! Kurama settled down in his new shelter and examined his injury. Some of them were sever, especially the one to his leg. The burns on his hands had started to bleed and the one on his leg seem to have burn through to the muscle.

If Hiei finds me, I won't be able to run. I'd have to give up and hope I can reason enough with him so I don't end up dead. *And you would be an idiot to think that would work!* I have to heal my wounds before he finds me again. *You can't. He's still close. The slightest use of youki will lead him right to you.* Then what do you suggest I do!! It's so easy for you to criticize. *Fine then. Wait till he's gone further. In the mean time, tend to your wounds without youki. This is a forest. There are herbs here that you can use.*

With that Kurama climbed out and crawled on the ground hoping to find something he could use that wouldn't be too far away from cover.
