Chapter 2- Last chance…

"So…what do you say, (your name)?" The dark voice asked.

You hesitate…but you did also notice that this was you last chance to live and reunite with your love.

"Fine, we have a deal." You reply angrily.

"Excellent."

"Wait! Under one condition."

Koharu raised an eyebrow.

"Put me in a place on earth where I can be with Kurama."

"He he, don't worry, miss (y/n)…Kurama, is one of Yusuke's closest friends, is he not?" Koharu remarked. He had a grin on his face. "hmm, funny how everything is so nicely connected."

"Why you son of a-"

"BRING THIS GIRL TO TOKYO, JAPAN! IMMEDIATELY!" Koharu demanded pointing at his servants.

Suddenely, two demons grabbed you from behind flying you out of the hell hole and through the palace. It was still crumbling. You watched as you flew in the sky and landed on the dirty, open streets of Tokyo. It was raining hard…You sat there next to an orphanage building. You opened your palms and found Kurama's necklace. You started crying, hugging it to your chest. Ohh Kurama…I will find you…no matter what…

Heh heh heh…don't worry little demon girl…You will find your dear Kurama. Oh yes...just one flaw…you won't remember who he is or where your necklace came from.

You shivered as the cold, hard rain poured on you. The streets were abandoned, not even stranded cats or dogs came out in the rain. You were all alone. Not only that, but you've been hiding like this for years. Waiting for the orphanage to find you and bring you into thier warm building. But you were too shy and scared to directly go to the matron and ask for shelter. No, not tonight. It was too cold to be alone and outside now. After all this time, you are finally going to march up those steps and demand for a bed…

-Too late-

"Oh dear! What are you doing here? And in the rain like this! We have to get you inside quickly!" A lady taking out the garbage said.

She then led you inside the orphanage you were waiting for so long to go into, and now you were finally there. There was a range of children who went to the orphanage. Even teenagers as old as you (sorry ppl who are under 13, but lets just say you ARE a teen, okie? Okie..) The lady first retrieved a towel to wrap around so you wouldn't get cold. Then you started looking around as you two walked up a long staircase. You finally entered a room that looked like the matron's office. The lady sat down.

"Honey, are you hungry?" The Matron asked.

"Umm…" It took you a while when you finally did notice you were quite hungry. "Actually, I am pretty hungry."

"No problem dear." The matron pressed a button that was connected to her desk. She spoke into a flat speaker. "Miss Callawan?"

A voice spoke from the speaker. "Yes, Matron Liza?"

"Can you please get me a bowl of soup and some juice? Thank you."

"Well, hello there. I'm Matron Liza. And the person I just talked to is my assisstant, Miss Callawan. So, how did you end up there, Honey?

"Well, I-"

"Sorry Dear, what is your name again?" Matron asked a little embarrassed.

"It's umm…It's…"

"Don't be shy, Dear."

"It's (y/n)." You said.

"What a pretty name. Do you have any parents? Any family at all?" She asked sympathetically.

You lower your head slightly…Even if you had parents; you don't remember anything about them. Heck, you don't remember anything about your past at all. Except for that necklace that you've had forever…you only remember that someone who really loved you gave that necklace to you. You rub it between your fingers.

"No…I don't have a family…no relatives either." You said dryly.

"It's okay, Honey. Here, we can be your new family. Let's start your account right now!." Matron said cheerfully. "So, how old are you?"

"…Sixteen years old."(lets just say you are…I mean, what 30,000 yr old, but hott, bishounon would go out with a 13 or 14 yr old? *Cough* CONT.)

"Alright…" She wrote down the number on your form. "Do you remember your last name?"

You're silent for a moment thinking to yourself. What's the point of answering all these questions if I don't remember a thing about my past? The only thing that I know is that this necklace was given to me by someone very special to me…and I'm gonna find out who.

During your first few days at the orphanage, you start to hear strange voices talking to you. You think it's just your mind playing tricks on you, until one night you heard it loud and strong.

"(y/n)…(y/n)…Wake up filthy demon."

It was a full moon out and the light caused your eyes to open. It wasn't a dream. There, standing in front of you was a tall figure.

"What?" You said sleepily rubbing your eyes. "Who are you? What's going on?

"Stupid demon…don't act like you don't know anything."

"What did you just call me? What are you talking about?"

You then feel something move under your body. You stood up and look behind you…You grew a tail! You jumped at the sight of it. You start running around in circles even though it didn't help get rid of it.

"AHH! I have a tail??!" You panic not trying to wake up the others.

You start knocking on your head thinking this is all just a crazy dream. "It's a dream…this is all a dream. Wake uup! Wake up!"

Then you knock on a bump in your head. You start feeling it…it was actually pointy and furry. Then you run to the bathroom and look in the mirror.

"I HAVE EARS?! Ahh!" You squeek.

You cover your eyes with your hands and start tearing. You repeat to yourself over and over, this is a dream, wake up…it's just a dream…

"Stop it you foolish girl!"

You finally notice the transparent figure in front of you. You start to panick but your legs are like jelly. He walks towards you and puts his hand inches away from your head. Koharu starts whispering some kind of spell. You cover your eyes with your hands.

You open your eyes, and jump back into a fighting position. It seemed that everything was different. Then you recognized the figure in front of you. Your eyes widened.

"Koharu! What the hell are you doing here?!"

"Hm, finally you're starting to come to your senses." He said as he started floating over the children sleeping. "I can see you're having a marvelous time here."

"What do you want, Koharu?" You demanded furiously.

"Don't you remember our little deal we made?" His smile turned into a menacing glare. "When will I have Yusuke's head on a platter?"

You're fury eased. You forgot all about the deal you made with Koharu.

"I don't know why I'm being so nice to you." Koharu smiled again. "Well, here's a little step for you for killing Urameshi for me. There is somone here who is going to adopt you tomorrow. Don't screw this up, because this is your only chance. This person is old, but very wise, so don't act like an idiot. She will lead you directly to Urameshi and someone who I think you'll be dying to meet again. He chuckled.

You glare at him, but you're still a little confused. Who were you going to meet again? You don't remember meeting anyone in the past before.

"You better not be-"

Again, he disappeared. Leaving you clueless and sleepy.

"(y/n), Dear, Wake up! There are people here who are planning to adopt! Take a shower and get dressed!"

You woke up rubbing your eyes. Then you remembered Koharu. You looked around the room, you were the only one in the room. You ran into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. You let out a sigh of relief. No tail, no ears. After that, you took a shower and dressed in clothes that the matron bought for you. You walked downstairs watching couples, adults, and old people walking around observing children. You smoothed your (color) hair, dusted off your dress, and walked down the stairs gracefully. Ugh…Unfortunetly, you tripped on the last stair landing flat on your face. As you stood up a short, faded pink haired old woman stared at you. She kept staring as you dusted off your dress again and straightened out your hair again.

"Sorry…I didn't watch what I was-"

"Come with me." The old woman said.

You followed her obediently. You both walked up to Matron Liza. She smiled and greeted you both.

"Wonderful! You want to adopt (y/n)?" Matron said delightfully. "Please, follow me into my office."

Your eyes widened. What? This old hag being my `mother'?!
