“Koenma we need to know whose doing this!” Yuusuke shouted at the Jr. god as Kurama and he stood in Koenma's office, it didn't take a genius for them to know they had to get to the bottom of this and fast or it could cost them Kurama's life. Right after the accident and Kurama's arm had been bandaged Yuusuke and Kurama ended up in reikai.
“I'm sorry Yuusuke I don't know what to tell you. There's not much we can do to figure out who it is or it they're even there.” Koenma said as he shuffled around his desk. As soon as the two had arrived reikai was practically thrown into a panic.
“But Koenma Kurama could die.” Yuusuke argued angry, his best friend could die; no Kurama was more than a friend in his eyes.
“Yuusuke I know and I'm trying. Why don't you two go back and we'll contact you when we find something.” Koenma said exasperated as he turned to look at the two.
“Fine.” Yuusuke growled with a death glared fixed towards Koenma. Yuusuke had promptly turned around and practically dragged Kurama back to ningenkai in his furry.
“What the hell is wrong with him we need help.” Yuusuke growled as they walked towards his home.
“I know Yuusuke but they can't do anything if they don't know anything.” Kurama argued meekly. He was not in the mood for this he felt as if he would pass out and his head was a whole other matter. It felt as if some one was trying to pry his mind open and if he didn't do something soon they would succeed. Rudely Kurama was snapped out of his thoughts as he was thrown to the ground, looking up he saw Yuusuke holding a demon back. Quickly but gracefully Yuusuke took the demon out snickering he held his hand out to Kurama for help. Taking it Kurama stood.
“Thank you Yuusuke I hadn't even realized someone was near us.” Kurama said falling slightly towards Yuusuke. Drowsily he followed the boy as he held onto his hand for support.
“S'okay Kurama, lets get you inside before you pass out on me.” Yuusuke said opening the door and leading Kurama in. Quietly not even caring where he was lead, Kurama followed Yuusuke as he took him down the hall to his bedroom and only protested a little at the boys actions of putting him in the bed and tucking him in like a three year old.
“Yuusuke!” Kurama choked when the boy had kissed his forehead lightly.
“What? I'm protecting you.” Yuusuke said as Kurama felt the boy's energy start to run through him and with a slightly shaped mouth that resembled a fish he laughed nervously.
“Good night Kurama don't worry too much we'll get through this I promise.” Yuusuke said as he pushed Kurama's bangs out of his face.
“Good night Yuusuke.” Kurama said endearingly.
Left to be broken as the wind blows. Picked up and thrown again, cracking like death how long will this last?
Yuusuke left the room leaving Kurama by himself, as the gingitsune rolled onto his side nuzzling into the pillow until he finally fell asleep. His dreams but a gust compared to the storm he mostly dreamt. For once he had slept through the night without nightmares. He awoke the next morning in Yuusuke's bed the sun streaming into the room threw the window above the bed, the windows open as the breeze blew in tossing the curtains. Kurama yawned throwing back the covers and walking out of the room and down the hall stretching when he got to the living room. Looking around he saw Yuusuke passed out on the couch the blanket on the floor next to him. He walked over and covered Yuusuke with the blanket his hand lingering over his forehead as he pushed his bangs back, he froze images flashing threw his mind.
Kill him, before he betrays you
Kurama looked wide-eyed at Yuusuke as his heart started to beat faster and an urge stronger then any other took him over. “Yuusuke.” He whimpered quietly, again it came out stronger as the urge increased.
“Yuusuke!” He nearly screamed as he grabbed himself trying in some way to restrain the urge.
Kill him. Don't disobey me pet.
“YUUSUKE!!!” Kurama screamed effectively waking the boy up who in seconds had Kurama wrapped in his embracing running his hand through the spirit fox's hair as he tried to calm the rigid body against him down.
“Yuusuke.” Kurama whimpered clutching the boy's shirt with all his might. He was shocked he almost, he had almost.
“I'll almost killed you.” Kurama choked out burying his face in Yuusuke chest. He had his hands fisted in the boys shirt as if, if he let go Yuusuke would disappear.
“It's alright Kurama, it's alright just calm down. Don't worry about it. I'm still here don't worry.” Yuusuke said holding Kurama even tighter. He held Kurama without uttering a word or even a noise of discomfort. It seemed that Yuusuke didn't mind was Kurama's thought although how right he was the fox would never know. Yuusuke loved holding Kurama, he loved being able to protect him and be there for him but most of all he loved Kurama. He just couldn't say anything about it. It would either kill him or Kurama would kill him. He knew Kurama would probably look at him in disgust. That's why he was happy just being able to be there for him. Kurama looked up after a while and noticed Yuusuke had his eyes closed and sighed before closing his own and nuzzling against Yuusuke to get comfortable before falling back asleep on the boy's chest. Yuusuke just further wrapped his arms around Kurama getting even more comfortable. It wasn't until late afternoon when Yuusuke awoke, rousing enough that Kurama soon joined him stretching out on the floor as Yuusuke stood offering him a hand to stand. Taking it in his own Kurama was hauled off the floor and almost succeeded in flinging both he and Yuusuke back onto the ground, but luckily he caught his balance.
“So you hungry?” Yuusuke asked but wasn't allowed an answer when his own stomach growled loudly which cause Kurama to laugh lightly stretching again.
“Starved, want to go out and get something to eat?” Kurama asked back as he ran a hand through his hair threading out all the knots.
“Sure.” Yuusuke answered before stretching himself and going to get changed Kurama in tow. The two eventually walked out of the house about fifteen minutes later headed to a ramen shop down the street. Just what they both need. Fresh air and some exercise.
“Thank you Yuusuke.” Kurama said as he ate his noodles looking down at the river they had choose to eat their lunch by.
“You worry to much Kurama, everyone protects the people they love.” Yuusuke said going silent, as he continued to eat his noodles. His eyes trained on the nothingness around them as he tried not to think about Kurama.
“You don't mean that.” Kurama drawled out as he looked into the sky. “It's just you person. It's who you are, what you think you have to be.” Kurama said as if he was convincing himself, Yuusuke looked over a little shocked to say the least.
“When I was fighting Yomi in the finals of the Makai tournament. I lost my will to fight. I had no idea why I was fighting. Usually it was because my opponents wanted someone stronger to defeat them. I never really thought about why I fought. Usually it was just a sport to me, but as I was fighting I realized I couldn't think like that anymore I have to have some reason to fight. Then I remembered something and it was so stupid but it was what kept me fighting. I remembered the day on the rooftop when we used the Forlorn Hope to save your mother. I remembered how you had been happy and that was enough to make me keep going. I know what I mean even if others don't believe so you go on thinking what you want Kurama and I'll always be here protecting you.” Yuusuke said finishing his ramen. He put it to the side laying against the ground as he stared up at the sky, the two stayed there for some time in silence. Yuusuke only moving when Kurama fell against him lightly trying to get comfortable against Yuusuke's chest as the two fell into a light sleep sitting on the grass by the river.
“Ohh Yuusuke, Kurama. Raise and shine sleepy demons.” Botan chirped as she continued to poke said demons in the ribs trying to wake them up. When that failed she dipped her hand in the river and flicked the water at Yuusuke, effectively shocking him awake and with him Kurama.
“What the hell Botan can't get a decent days sleep anymore?” Yuusuke whined plopping back onto the ground and looking up at the ferry girl for a second before groaning.
“What do you want Botan?” He asked putting his hands to his eyes and pushing against his face trying to will away the tension and stress that seemed to attack him out of no where.
“We have a lead on Kurama's little stalker so we decided to come and give you the heads up so you could go give him a beating he'll never forget then we'll lock him up.” Botan said cheerily as she bounced around the two boys her smile held in place when she began what she imagined the two as.
“The you two can kiss and live happily ever after.” She said making kissing noised causing Kurama to blush and Yuusuke to flip out.
“You're such a pervert Botan, Kurama and I aren't even like that. I'm just doing my job!” Yuusuke yelled and as much as Kurama knew because what Yuusuke told him. Those words cut him deeper then any knife had in the past year.
“I know, however that's not the matter at hand right now.” She said becoming solemn, “Koenma told me to warn you that, who ever is doing this to Kurama will appear soon. Either he'll find you or you'll find him hopefully the latter if we're lucky.” Botan finished. Before her oar materialized in her hand.
“You boys be good, now remember I'm just the messenger, see you two later.” She called as she ascended into the sky.
“She did Not have to wake us up for that.” Yuusuke complained as he fell back looking into the sky, Kurama right next to him. Neither one of them wanted to break the silence but in truth neither one could they just couldn't think of anything to say that would change everything they knew was coming their way. The future was going to be hard. Although Yuusuke knew one thing, he had to fight and stay strong so who ever was doing this would pay and Kurama would be free from their grasps and alive. Whoever was doing this was going to die, Yuusuke was going to make sure of that. They were going to die by his hands, even if he wrung the life out of them.
Don't be to sure my lovely detective those who are over confident always seem to be the ones to fall when needed.
“I'm not over confident, just truthful, don't judge me before you know me, I'm not some possession you can look at and tell exactly what it is in one word.” Yuusuke answered back as Kurama's grip on his shirt tightened.
We shall see when the time comes but be careful when it does, make sure you have your trump card because I hold nothing back.
Cwiffy? I think so how bout you >:) muhahahahaah Review?
